There's a common misconception about hybrids and "CVTs", the manufacturers don't do themselves any favors in their marketing. They are not actually CVTs. In series hybrids, which is the way Toyota's design works, the engine is not connected to the wheels most of the time. Therefore technically the engine RPM is continuously variable. It's the primary drive motor which does the majority of the work with the wheels. The engine is simply a gas generator in most scenarios. There is no downshifting, or shifting at all. Cool review, thanks
Any feedback on the colors? I usually stick with silver because it doesn’t show dirt or scratches but I think this cross hybrid looks best in blue and red.
I’m this video the red paint on rear side panels looks like it doesn’t match the rest of the car. I saw someone mention this in a other video.
So finally this catches up with the z Seltos SXT ? Sort of…?
Nice. This would be my next car used unless the new Forester beats it out. Wish they made an even smaller one.
The road noise seems to be a real issue. That will probably be a deal breaker for me.
Corolla Cross: It's a subaru crosstrek, but worse. And a higher price tag.
what about a spare wheel and tyre
There is a 3D printer kit to mount a spare tire.
I don't get it? This cars exterior looks like a quirky car from 2010 that hasn't aged well. While the sequential indicators are cool, they're not as smooth as competitors (similar to the 300 series). Strange as the ch-r sequential indicators are quite smooth
Only thing that I don't like about the Hybrid system of this car is that it's all wheel drive, I rather front wheel drive cause it's less maintenance.
love u guys
EV mode on (non-plugin) hybrids is for departing/returning to your home late at night or early morning without disturbing your neighbors. It's a Japanese thing I guess.
Already see the Canadian model has heated steering wheel vs the US!!! 😤😡🤬😖😠👿😾🗯️
But we have the JBL sound system🤷♂️
Kinda reminds me of a Kia front end. I wish they would just bring the hybrid powertrain to the corolla hatch.
How does it compare with a Matrix though?
Take a shot every time Jakob says "luxury"
Probably like 5 shots. Good warm up
Do Make a Video on Corolla hatchback 2023! I want to buy that car but wanna see your opinion before I buy
I have yet to see a Corola across anywhere and I’m in a large metro area. Are they actually making these?
Yes I finally saw one in the wild the other day!
There's at least one person in my neighborhood who owns one (suburban area). I've also seen a couple in the wild. They are definitely rare, though!
From my experience with a 2018 Civic CVT transmission, I haven’t been a huge fan of that. But I’m sure over the years CVT transmission technology has improved.
got the same, the cvt in it SUCKS
Ecvt is better because its not a rubberband/metal band. Its uses planetary gear
@@salahuddinkarim8446 I destroyed my transmission when I installed Hondata in my Civic 😛
@@wayner8088 1.5t? those things don't like ~300hp on the cvt
Hybrid cvt is not the same cvt. It’s REALLY reliable.
No cooling seats?
Nope
Does the hybrid make noises when it backs up like the Rav 4
YES look sporty and drive comfy. Enter an integra a spec tech package
Is a corolla, good car and will last forever.
Intro music is *chef’s kiss*
Guys help me choose between a 2nd hand Mazda CX-5 year 2019 or a brand new Corolla Cross.
2nd hand Mazda CX-5 = 18,353.17 USD
Brand new Corolla Cross = 30,833.33 USD
I'm planning to keep the car for 7 to 10 years.
PS: brand new cars are expensive in my country due to taxes
Mazda CX-5
I would go CX-5. It would be a much more comfortable and enjoyable to drive, even if it's a few years old...unless you really wanted to save on gas, then maybe the Corolla Cross hybrid would make sense. It sounds like the CX-5 would be a lot cheaper for you though, and a better vehicle.
Thanks guys! CX-5 it is!
@@ryannatividad3137 Axe22 could buy a lot of gas with the 12K cost delta...
