- The mobile tire changer model WS-561-C is easy to transport in any van allowing you to work on the go whether on the road or onsite at a customers premises. It is an electro-hydraulic unit with its own built-in generator and air compressor. Not only is it able to change tires and then air them up, but it can be used to power any 220V or 110V accessory. The operating capacity of the tire changer ranges from 13" to 27". The compact size of the mobile tire changer frees up space for other tools and equipment in the van. The machine utilizes the conventional methods of a standard tire changing unit by means of a electro-hydraulic wheel clamping device. Breaking the bead, fitting/ removal of the tire onto the rim and hydraulic tool arms are standard operations of the mobile tire changers.
I can really appreciate the engineering aspect of this machine, it's beautiful. On the other hand, i question the utility value and return on investment. I have changed 22.5s and 24.5s with a hammer and set of bars and, despite not being a particularly big guy, could probably do 8 in about half the time this machine takes. As for this demonstration - dismounting a brand new tire (not even having the bead set) from a brand new wheel is far from a real world situation.
Would like to see that doing something else than fatty truck tires. These things are so easy to change. Do a set of low profile runflats and then you'll impress me.
Exactly , that size tire is easy af
my uncle is a truck driver and i have gone on countless trips with him and changed hundreds of tires. i must say its not that hard. like you said "work smarter, not harder." if you know what your doing its pretty easy and way faster than this lol and as your tired and taking a break, you can wait for this machine to catch up and then keep on going after you get a good 45 minute break lol ;)
Now let's see you do that with a still old super single that's welded to the wheel. Then and not only then I will be convinced!
that is so cool! i would call them every time i got a new set. I hate borrowing somebody's truck or suv to take my tires and rims to get mounted/balanced because I drive a coupe.
@101savaged That is true, for a small quantity of tires. This is for changing many tires a day, week after week. Takes less toll on the body!
WOW!! Somebody on u-tube doing something and has on safety glasses, gloves , long pants and reasonable looking shoes!!
!?I !
A better idea would be a PTO. I used to work out of my van years ago....couldn't get the smell of exhaust out of the truck.
That's freaking awesome, thanks to woever built this thing. Definitely on my wish list
I have seen a semi tire get changed out by hand faster than this machine works, in fact the tech did it without removing the rim from the truck and was done within 4 mins
Good luck getting OHSA approval. That's kinda deal breaker.
I rather use this machine for eight hours a day,Than to break my back for eight hours. Its the future......
Well, im a trainee at changing lorry tires, i can unmount, change tire and mount the tire back to lorry in 10 mins, professionals do all these things in 5 min, so i agree, its a bit slow.
Thank you. We use Ascot Tire and Tube Mounting Compound. Stuff works real well!
How do you balance a tire with out it being aired up?
I'd like to see them use this in a real life situation, on a road call sitting on the shoulder with a road barrier. Pretty sure you wouldn't be able to pull out your little green machine
Good for tires service beside the long road between province and town it can move to the point of task easily, it can supply many sizes of wheel rim, nice product.
how can i buy one?
this is the best idea ive seen in a while, great job with the video. Got the tire on with great ease and is a great idea!
Nice. would love to see this with smaller tires
The machine is used to break the bead. The process is shown in this video but we were using a demonstrator tire and rim with the bead already loose. You would do everything the same as the video. The part where the technician is putting lube on the tire is where the bead would be loosened.
@fredriktaaje
Mostly people changing R22.5 over the road tires here in the US. Companies servicing private carrier trucks or fleets will use this. The driver calls for service, load the correct tire in the van and go!
Wow. You can do the same with two long bars much safer in the side of the road. A lot cheaper and faster too. This is a solution looking for a problem. I bet the government bought 255 of these.
***** tons of videos already on RUclips of people changing truck tires with 2 bars and a hammer. It's way quicker.
"Have no fear ma'am, I'm here to help.... This will only take an hour."
Considering towing your car the closest tire shop, an hour sounds pretty efficient lol
Who doesn’t want tires on the side of the rd
..... I wish I'd had this machine..... as many truck tires as I have changed
I would love to make a side hustle with a standard-one💯
That thing takes more time then the tire machines at NTB. I could change 2 tires in that anount of time.
very intresting! i can see someone making a fleet of mobile tire changers for a business
at least it isn't loud.... I SAID AT LEAST IT ISN'T LOUD!
WHAT?
!!!!!!!I SAID AT LEEEEEAAAST ITTT ISSSN'T LLLLLOOOOUUUDDDD!!!!!
oh ! thanks !
HeavyMetalEvilien too loud
I AGREE, THERE ARE A LOT OF CLOUDS!!
I like this machine it's the lazy mans tire changer !!
This set up is great for Hourly eployees at big fleets and older technicians, but seems way to slow for Contractors & tiremen on the fly whose pay depends on quantity and speed. If the hydraulics could be re-engineered to SAFELY run faster then I can see this system attracting a bigger audience. Clever machine nontheless. Thanks for posting.
Dayton wheels shouldn’t be a problem, as long as they fit into the size specs for the WS-561-C. But as far as clamping and fitting/removing there is no problem.
ill do twice as many tire changes then this. man versus machine.
Thanks for sharing this is a great product that is very easier.
It is made for 11R22.5 type wheels but will work for slightly larger off-road and Agricultural tires ans well as passenger tires.
awesome. I rather do 15 plus tires with this machine than by hand. imagine repairing tires all day. Would you rather have this machine which requires little effort and causes very little damage or all day repairing by hand and putting cracks into rims trying to break bead lock.
Well i would like to see it break a bead.. cuz in this video the bead was already broken when he lifted the wheel.
yes it was .
+Pappy saw it break bead inback and front, imagine using a hammer and forks all day. I'd still choose this portable machine.
Ricky Anzley well i did not see it break the bead...but i did see the bead flopping loosely . still...better than doing it by hand i suppose.
***** agreed ,
Probably useful in rural areas.
awesome technology, far safer for the tech. good luck with this product
I dig the lime green color!
You should also video demonstrate it installed in the back of the van.
That's Awesome!!!
This is great for roadside service and fleets as well.
Innovative engineering, I hope you sell many units!
It's a very noisey bastrad but a beautiful piece of kit.
you got a point to show for it.
@MrBurnTec breaking the bead is one thing but doing the entire job is what matters! Time is money. A little soapy water and a sledge hammer does the trick fast too!
Thats where I started but that was in 82 at the 76 truckstop in Tulsa Okla .Yes I can probably go faster but I am getting older LOL .I am looking for a good self owned business .This and maybe a mobile wash detail
You can absolutely install it that way!
Nice setup
How did I get here 7am in the Saturday morning...
really brillant idea
And I know it's a truck machine, but the point remains, you unfold it to the curbside leaving the operator off the street/highway where someone can run into him.
way faster, easier and cheaper by hand, would love to see someone doing this on the side of the highway with cars flying by
The machine is fantastic
wow easy life, nice tool
those are for big rims.goedendag
degreeprodigy has got a valid point
so that was the loudest geny you could find?
I like
All fine and dandy, but in less time than it took to set the machine up, I could changed that with two levers and a bead knocker
That is freaking awesome.
Very simple.. this good
may be the optimal way is to have the extending parts to extend from the back door
I can't see a unit like this being used roadside where there's no room laterally. Seems slow too. Still -- good luck with this. I'm sure someone will buy them.
So where's the part where the bead is broken free? I'd also like to see what happens when this is used on a wheel with an aspect ratio/profile of 60 or lower. I doubt someone that has $1,200 rims is going to want that clamp put on it.
That friggin thing is loud. But it sure is neat.
Excellent.
the flimsy awkward control stand has to be redesigned
This is really made for over-the-road tires but that said it will handle tires up to 2,200 lbs and 63" in diameter. Will definitively not do a solid tire though.
I think if they change the levers by controlling pedals it will be more efficiency... it will let the operator free hands
It's a nice machine!!
... what did you say?
I SAID IT'S A NICE MACHINE!!
i see where this is a unit you buy and put in any van you want.. but id want it to get its power from the motor..with say an extra alternator. The generator is loud.
Wonder how toasty it gets inside that van when the generator is running? Perhaps some sort of PTO driven generator from the vehicle or maybe a belt driven generator?.....Less heat in the van and by far LESS NOISE.
Pretty cool set up nonetheless.
looked to me that the tire was off the rim even before you started to take it off. also a new tire is easer than a old one that has been on for years , you could of done that by hand .
give it a few years and it'll probably be able to change all the tires at once or some crazy shit like that. because after all, it's a machine, they upgrade.
Unless safety standards for the trucking industry improve this machine will never be used. Specially on road service. Safety cage, wheel balance, safety stands, You're joking right? You're lucky if you see tire men use a torque wrench.
BTW Hagger999 I normally do more than 30 tires a day and do not use any machines to do them
I'd like to see that being used at the side of a road!
Great peice of equipment! But how much does that thing run for?
in the time it takes to set it up alone you could already have the tire changed over im a service truck driver and if we were to use that machine i feel it would be unsafe for side of the hiway calls its more of an in shop machine
Labour saving machine but I've seen a competent truck tire guy take off and install a tire with tire irons in the time it took to open the door on the van and set the machine up.
Looks well engineered and thought out. I'll bet the operator of this changes the 10th tire of the day as fast as he did the first. What is the solution your using to lube the tire?
so cool.
This unit will work for passenger car tires. Will not work for low profire tires though.
That is AWESOME.
I guess somebody funded this concept.
I just checked out their website. Looks like their machines only cater for trucks and heavy vehicles.
Hi everyone, to clear up some confusion - this tire changer is made for Heavy-Duty over the road truck and bus tires. Sure it has the capability to do smaller tires but that is not what it was designed for. Regards,
Where can we get this product?, and how much is it?
what tyre fitter would use a bead keeper on a truck rim? if i did that at my work place id get an instant dismissal lol
@Nick Chinn But can u take the car there without a tow truck? With this thing u can
Am I wrong in assuming you also took it a little slower to show more of the process are you selling these and what is the cost with the balancer .I am very interested and what is the smallest tire you can do with these
Yes I would also like to know the cost of the full package too please and the smallest tire size
4:14 watching this got me tired.
my only concern is if your on the shoulder of the highway theres probably a ditch beside the shoulder. i would like o see this slide out and unfold from the back of truck.
That would probably not be what this is designed for.
also can you do off road equipment like a Bobcat or Case
"Optional" wheel balancer, ya...
Those type of rims do not have the safety bead like car rims, that's why it does it so easy folks,,,
That is cool.
"I put one of these baby's in my Volkswagen, now I'm a millionaire." Has me laughing still.
Funniest comment I've come across yet.
Ok wait... The bead on the first tire was already broken, so you skipped that. In addition, these tires had to be the easiest mounting tires you could possibly find. I've never had tires that loose when mounting. You could have probably just sat the rim on the ground and manually pushed the tire on... How about we redo this with a shredded tire, like the one you'll actually find on a rig. Break the bead with the machine and remove the old shredded tire. Then put on a set of regular stiff-wall tires.
Needless to say, I have my doubts.
Or how about trying to change a run flat with that thing lol
Oh man, no kidding... I did a set of 4 today on a regular tire machine and was ready to rip someone's skull off by the time I finished.
Nothing like a good ole set of wide rim run flats to ruin your day.
i Schwak ... You got that right, especially at 8AM.
Yeah this is pretty weak. I just use a sledgehammer, tire irons or golden tool and I'd have at least 4 done before he got done with that one. Good luck doing a fleet check changing out 50 plus tires like that.. I'm even contracted through Ryder and I've never seen them use any tire machine. They don't even change there own tires.
Wandering where can you have this installed and where can you buy tools and equipment like this?thanks
lol, this thing takes for ever. I hope he is just taking his time for the video because I could easily double this production with 2 bars and a hammer.
lol.. let's see the video then.
Its like watching paint dry. Id have fitted 4, with levers by now. On shitty rusty wheels, and broken the beads by hand.
