No. The continent is correctly Oceania, and it comprises all the islands of the region.... just as American comprises all the caribbean island, Asia the Andamans nd Nicobars etcetera.
Sorry to say this but Oceania is not officially a continent and I wouldn't expect it to ever be described as one. it was the answer I gave despite it being technically incorrect.y understanding of continent is that it must be a major land mass and no one could ever describe Papua as a major land mass. It's a fair size but does not compare to the size of any continent.
@@barbarapiazza-georgi3831 It may sit on it's own tectonic plate but I doubt they will ever include Oceania as a continent, at least partly because it would open up too many possible scenarios regarding natural resources in the area. I am sure there are many other reasons as well.

The Americas (north, south and central America are all large land masses which also incorporate the islands of the Caribbean. Just like Europe has small and large island nations and so does Asia.
North America also has island nation such as Iceland, Greenland etc.
Africa has small island surrounding it and very large madagasgar.
The continents: Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Europe, and Australia.

Regarding the continents it really depends on where you went to school ... Here in France I was taught that there were 5 continents Europe , Asia , Africa , America and Oceania .I know for a fact that teachers now adhere to other criteria . But it just shows that I'm old !!!

@@quiznook Also, I live spitting distance from the Canadian border (can drive there in an hour, enter Sarnia, Ontario after crossing the Blue Water Bridge). I've vacationed on the Canadian Lake Huron shore ever since I was a kid. My grandparents and parents built cottages there. Love Canada!🇨🇦 Cheers!🍻

16/20. Didn’t know that yogurt dish, never watched South Park & I don’t think character names should be part of a general knowledge quiz since they’re so subjective depending on age, country & taste. Chevrolet is a division of GM ( not its own company) same as Buick. Can’t remember the other two I missed.

Elton John wrote 'Candle in the Wind' for Marilyn Monroe, but re dedicated it to Dianna when she died, also, your quiz is orientated to an American audience, so it couldn't really be called general knowledge!
The narrator never claimed Elton John wrote the song for Princess Di, he only stated that he sang it for her - which he did live at her funeral. Also, the topics covered are uniform areas of general knowledge that are well known facts in every country on earth, so to say that the quiz is geared towards an American audience is totally idiotic.

Elton john did not write candle in the wind for princess Diana. He wrote it years earlier and then changed a few lyrics and dedicated it to her when she died.

Thanks for your comment! So from I gather, "Candle in the Wind" was originally written in 1973 by Elton John and Bernie Taupin as a tribute to Marilyn Monroe. In 1997, John and Taupin rewrote the song with new lyrics for Diana, which they titled "Candle in the Wind 1997". Basically, he made and remade the song as a tribute to each legendary lady.
Interesting fact: "John continues to sing the original version of the song at his concerts but has repeatedly turned down requests to perform the revised version, even for the memorial Concert for Diana in July 2007, having vowed never to perform it again unless asked by Diana's sons."

20/20. I say this BECAUSE of the Oceania as a continent debate, either way, it was the only answer that wasn't completely INCORRECT.
Also, question #9 YOU guys got wrong. The song was originally about Marilyn Monroe. Elton John, after changing some of the words, re-released Candle In The Wind in 1997 for Princess Diana. A special version but, not the original song.
