  • It is no secret that I love panel cutouts with exposed motherboards and Heads Up Displays. It is the later item, I will delve into today. I was cruising the Facebook Room Builders Group and saw Scott Bleisath’s HUD and it was incredible. It sparked so many ideas in my mind. His Heads up Display is an off the shelf solution to anyone wanting a quick Star Wars Prop to display. For me, it inspired me to add to it by wanting to make a Rebel stash on the planet of Endor.
    I even drove to Muir Woods to film the final part of this video because that is where Return of the Jedi was filmed. It was absolutely stunning and might have been my favorite part of this build and filming process. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
    And for all those hikers walking by a guy geeking out over filming a rock in Muir Woods, I thank you for coming over and talking with me. Seeing your excitement interacting with the prop was priceless. I was so filled with joy, seeing the childlike awe of full blow adults walk up to the rock with curiosity, open the lid…see the heads up display and have an ear to ear grin. It is moments like this, why I can understand why film directors watch the audience instead of the movie. They want to see how the film affected the viewers.
    I would also personally like to thank Scott for joining in with me on this collaboration. He is a great guy and I hope you reach out to him, let him know what you think about his HUD. He is also selling these Heads up Displays…so consider buying one.

      I’m happy to hear you liked it. And great movie reference. I feel honored to be even whispered in the general area of that movie. It is the gold standard for new SW movies

    Clever build man! I love how that each maker takes things that would normally be considered junk and are able to make incredible stuff from it!

      LOL, yea, I love that aspect as well. Such unique creative people in our community. And the great thing about junk is the low low price of FREE

      I do what I can Shawn. I’m pleased to hear you liked it. I even tried using some of your voice over editing techniques from your latest ‘podcash’. It helped me record different and edit different. I liked it. Thx for the tip

    Hiw did you make the HUD display case with the handles on the side ?

    • @garlandsworkshop
      @garlandsworkshop  2 года назад

      Those are made by Scott Bleisath. His information is in the video description. He made the hud graphics and the Hud as a whole as you see it in the early part of the video. He sells them on Etsy.

    what did you use for the power supply to use it and not have to plug it in using the DC adapter?

      I did not want to have cords running through the faux rock. So I bought an inverter on Amazon. It allowed me to connect a 20V dewalt battery to an inverter that provided 120v AC
      The one I purchased is no longer available. But I did relook just now. Type in “power inverter for dewalt 20v max battery”. There is one for $39 that shows you what it looks like
      Hope this helps. If not, let me know

      P.s. it was really cool leaving this prop all set up and running in the middle of Muir Woods (the place where Endor was filmed) and see people’s reaction coming up in the prop and interacting with it. A true priceless memory for my son and I
