Saw these guys in the Baltimore area many many times in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Their drummer, Shannon Larkin, has been in Godsmack for quite a while. The lead singer/bad player Brad Divens played in Kix on their Cool Kids album in the early 80’s. Brad now is a Front of House Sound guy for Enrique inglesious as well as a producer of music videos, etc. (recent Kix movie).
Hell yeah, do some Souls At Zero, thats who Wrathchild America had to change their name too cause the other Wrathchild sued them. 2 totally different bands, ones glam ones half thrash
I found a video for a song called Never from Souls At Zero, I am gonna do it for you my friend, can't wait to hear this! Look for it in the next few weeks in your honor! 🤘🤘
@@ShaneDiablo Thats a tight song, I think you'll like it, if you like them check out Climbing The Walls, we were just talking on Facebook about how it's a bonafide classic, that never got noticed, kind of sad, cool bro, I'll sub and start checking your channel out.
Was a fan of them back in the day . They were on the same club circuit of early Pantera. They have way heavier tracks. Their album Climbing the Walls & Souls at Zero debut. Was happy that their awesome drummer landed the big gig w Godsmack.
Awesome! So many are sleeping on this band. Don't be fooled, they have some very dark, heavy songs. I recommend Silent Darkness (Smothered Hope), the Day of Thunder, and Gentleman's Death. They were sued over their name as well. First two albums are Climbing the Walls and the second is 3D. Both albums are fantastic. Oh yeah, they did a metal cover of Time by Pink Floyd that was very well done. Enjoy
Haven't heard them before. I once had a CD with Wrathchild UK. Hair metal band. So bad I gave it away 😁. As far as I remember the British band was the reason they are called Wrathchild America
Wrathchild America's first album (Climbin' the Walls) should be required listening for any thrash fan. It's *that* good. I bought the second album, which included this track, the instant it hit the shelves and didn't really "get it" at the time; it was a fairly significant departure from their older sound. A lot of other people apparently felt the same, and they were promptly dropped from their label. As others mentioned, the majority of the band went on to record under the name Souls At Zero. Killer tracks to check out from the first album would include the title track "Climbin' the Walls", "No Deposit, No Return", "London After Midnight", "Silent Darkness (Smothered Life)", and their cover of Pink Floyd's "Time". Honestly, though, that whole first album is killer OG thrash metal.
Fun fact, Wrathchild America opened for Metallica at the Stone Balloon in Newark, DE it was Metallica's only club show on the And Justice For All tour. They are Baltimore legends and hopefully since Hammerjacks just reopened, maybe Wrathchild America can reform and play there!
Oh man, this brings me back to the day I tell ya. I actually took a chance on buying their first album back when I was 16 because the cover looked sick. Remember those days! Lol. They were kind of a humerous kitchen sink type of band. Pretty talented though. They do a great version of Time by Pink Floyd on their first album. Thanks for the memory lane trip.
Haven't seen or heard this for many, many years...it's still pretty fun and punchy! I believe the bass player/lead singer here is Brad Divens, who was in Kix for a brief stint - he played guitar (not bass) on the Cool Kids album. (I honestly don't recall what the situation was with Ronnie Younkins at that time.) I remember these guys playing the Del-Mar-Va frequently throughout the 80's and very early 90's and they were seemingly at Hammerjack's (in Baltimore) as often as Kix although I never seemed to catch them there for whatever reason...
Might as well keep going down the memory lane....This band changed their name to Souls at Zero (minus the drummer who went on the play in Godsmack) So with that you should check out the video for the song Never I've no idea why this band didn't take off like they should have. I really like them.
I've been a fan of wrathchild America since before their first CD when I saw them on a garage band segment on 60 minutes back in the 80s. They were playing their version of the trooper by iron maiden in a club. Im a fan of the front man,Brad Divens. He is great on the bass so I agree when you compare them to Mr Big. Im also a huge fan of Billy Sheehan. The first album was hard. The second album was extremely complicated and I love them both. They changed their name to Souls at Zero. They had less success. I think Brad did other things in the business after that.
Thanks for the content sir
My pleasure

He did play on the self titled Souls at Zero album…..then he left.
