I'm new to this, but I'm leaning towards a drone called DJI NEO. I've seen it in action, and I think it will be the best choice for my needs and requirements...
Bought the neo a couple of days before the flip was released, i was convinced on keeping the neo, but after its disadvantages: Not a very good camera, can't fly at night or in low light areas, sometimes indoors loses signal, the sound pitch, and small battery, oh also the lots of fly aways reported on the forum... i went ahead and return the neo and bought a Flip, i don't like the design very much, but is sturdy enough, it has a very good camera, can fly a little more faster, can fly at night, has almost double the battery and has the quickshots feature, ah almost forgot can fly over water... so i really like it. The only thing missing from the Flip is the FPV
But what i plan to do , since i bought the Flip with the RC-N3, i might later on go and buy the neo FPV combo, roughly the same price as the initial flip combo.
Honestly, better video quality comes first and better battery life. The flip sounds just about right for my needs. Yes it’s bigger and possibly more fragile, but I think I will take my chances with the flip.
Another reason to buy the NEO is that if you are a Part 107 pilot in the US, you can add an RID module and still be under the weight limit to fly over people as a category 1 drone.
The Neo needs the fpv3 and motion controller to get all fpv functions. Motion controller for head tracking and the fpv3 controller for manual mode, which is true fpv. The Neo is a most versatile drone.
BTW, you can use the RC2 remote as a (YT) video viewer while on vacation. Just dump the videos somewhere in the SD card, go to the notifications menu: connect a bluetooth headset, and select the "explore" option for the SD card to select your video, and start watching while on a flight.
Neo with the new update can track up to 35 km/h it is much faster than previous initial release 22 km/h. keep that Speed and you wont lose the tracking
Hi, getting a lot of use with the Neo due to how convenient and handy it is for walking and having fun at the beach with family and grandchildren. I mostly use the mobile to maintain control but have the RCN 3 from the combo pack. I have an interest in capturing surfers and people active on the water along with getting low light scenic shots around headlands and cliffs. I am thinking of getting the DJI Mini three combo for this type of video/photography. Looks to have a good camera and a lower drag profile for windy conditions and good value. Great content by the way and thank you for sharing 👍
Sorry, maybe for you, but not for everyone. For me, it's precision maneuverability and for that I need goggles. Since the Flip doesn't have those and the Neo does (also being smaller which also helps) the Neo wins. Not everyone is doing cinematography with their drones.
love my flip...great to handle, design is fab, quality is great...comes along with my mini 4 pro, flip,neo...its all about what you need out of the drone..
I want to add that while I definitely can see that the flip has a slightly better image quality for some reason. I really just like the field of you better much better on the Neo. And while I can see that the flip definitely has a little bit more details. It’s not enough for me to feel like that’s the better choice.
I definitely agree the neo is the beta drone. More compact, cheaper, camera and video is decent for wat I use it for. And it's safe to fly anyware . I have the googles 3 and controller 3 and it takes the neo nxt level. . perfect combo
If you change the settings for the neo with the remote, will that setting be there for the quick shots as well after the drone is turned out? It? Or do you have to use a controller each time to lower the sharpness? Thank you.
For me, the main reason I will probably avoid the flio, flop, is because of the awful sensor it has. That ifared system prevents your drone from moving forward in foggy or snowy conditions. When flying in cyne, , normal mode. The drone thinks is encountering obstacles in mid-air. That's a major flaw design on Dji's parrt. You have to fly the drone in aport mode to turn off the sensors when encountering this issue. Another major issue is, as you mentioned, those prop guards slow down the drone considerably. And the drone is quite noise as well. Why Dji decided to include none removable prop guards, in beyond me? I'll stick with my Neo for now.
The fact that the Neo can use Goggles N3/MC3/FPV3 and the Flip can't use any goggles was an immediate no-go for me. Even if you aren't into FPV, using the goggles for regular flying makes flying in tight spaces MUCH easier. That's why I got the Neo/Goggles N3 Fly More Combo. If DJI announces Goggles N3 support, I'll run out and get one. I can't use the Goggles 3 because I can't use contacts and prescription inserts with strong enough prisms are like $500 - the price of the Goggles 3, so the Goggles 3 with my Mini 4 Pro isn't a realistic option.
Of course for the price and FPV DJI Neo...image quality is very good for money i spend 530€...dron, 3 bateries, charging hub, motion 3 controler, n3 goggles ...
I have been using neo since last 4 months and I want to say that the battery sucks... Even the camera quality is not that great... Guys if you want to buy a good drone go for dji mini 4 pro... I don't know anything about the flip drone... But just don't go for neo
I decided for the neo because is what my wallet can buy. If my wallet can buy the flip of course I decided for the flip and the same for the mini, Mavic.
About the Flip...Meh. I think, for only C$300 more, I would choose the Mini 4 Pro Fly More Pkg at Costco Canada. The Mini 4 Pro gets you much more features and performance for that price difference. Now, If I had a larger drone such as an Air 3S (which I have), I would still choose the Neo over the Flip and not just because of the price difference, but because the NEO has FPV capabilities, fit's in your pocket and probably more sturdy. The Neo is a better offset. Flip Flop comes to mind here.
I have the air 2s since it came out and I just bought the neo fpv combo with remote controller 3 for fun manual flight. Maybe avata 2 or avata 3 in the future but I’m good with what I have.
@@DanielVazquez how are you liking the pro max. I really really dislike having multi brands for support which makes me a dji cult member lol. I’d rather have a dji product but man the beacon on the hover is so attractive. Come on dji catch up hahahah
Both are not perfect. But the image quality of the NEO is too bad. With software stabilization the Flip will still deliver a significantly better result. But it's too fragile (gimbal, prop guard)
can you say THE ONLY DIFFERENCE haha for exactly those differences why you should get the Flip .No way in hell I would do that hahaha Flip is the way to go. The Neo ,it's not like it's cheap at all that's a trick once you buy the controller and the Googles and 3 extra batteries you're up o same price or more of Han the Flip Combo pack haha and Neo have a very irritation sound
@@victorsandoval6501 Yeah and more i got the combo pack for 655 euros so I could not say no jeje and if I wanted all this plus the goggles for neo would have been way more expensive
Bought Flip at first minute when released. then ordered Neo FPV combo right after realized that Flip incapable of FPV. Currently have both of them unopened. Have 10 days left to decide which to keep. So far tending to keep Neo, however, there is a rumor saying Neo 2 is coming out later this year with improved features. Hmm, maybe keep Flip instead?
Which one would you buy? 🤔

My Neo arrives tomorrow!!

Had budget so went with Flip combo
Main reason the buy the flip. Camera quality.
I've got both and the Flip is better, Camera Is top notch.
It keep cropping feet even though settings are set to far follow. Neo wins on the tracking department

I am very happy with my Neo + RC2 remote + RayNeo Air 2 Glasses. Waiting for the Mini 5 pro.

i know 👍
What about speed? Can they track when out skiing? Any difference when you add more speed that walking?

Everything, absolutely everything comes down to the quality camera , the FLIP camera ✅, Neo ❌

If the Flip gets improved tracking, I believe it will unquestionably be the better choice.
Hopefully solved with a firmware update soon 🤞

You still need to use the remote for that
@RobHK sorry the typos, thank you for the response.
Got the neo! Flip doesn't look worth upgrading.. next year let's see what's new!🎉
"I totally agree with you. I prefer Neo
I have both they are both amazing drones!

IMO, The Neo is an awesome companion to a larger drone. In my case, an Air 3S.
@DarR1299 any drone but no neo
for beginner and 1st time buyer I choose FLIP for better camera
I decided for the neo because is what my wallet can buy. If my wallet can buy the flip of course I decided for the flip and the same for the mini, Mavic.
I chose DJI Neo. More compact, more robust, video quality on par with my gopro hero 10.

2:39 shot with contoller and sharpness reduced?
No, this was actually shot handheld. Check my weeks later video from Hawaii 👌
The Flip is a Flop
The flip storage capacity is only 2Gb vs 22Gb for the Neo.
Seem it is the different category between neo and flip
dji NEO para me
What the FLIP is missing is a damn beacon while the Hover has one. Haha
TBH, the best combo is a NEO and a MINI 4 PRO
I got the HoverAir X1 ProMax, DJI Neo and Mini 4k and Mini 3 Pro. So happy with my setup!
Negative: the best combo is the Neo and the Air 3S 🤣😁
I have the air 2s since it came out and I just bought the neo fpv combo with remote controller 3 for fun manual flight.

real life use: dji neo can not even hover in place with low light / at night
I still stay with Neo
One reason to buy the dji flip The NEO VIDEO IMAGE IS REALLY REALLY BAD
Both are not perfect. But the image quality of the NEO is too bad.
With software stabilization the Flip will still deliver a significantly better result. But it's too fragile (gimbal, prop guard)
Flip is failed product

Plus neo has flyaway issues
Definitely is much better drone the Flip: Has improved Camera, Supports flying at night, Faster, Longer battery

Think the flip is a flop IMO
