One of the best things about your videos is how real they are. I'm a messy cook, and while I'm not saying you are too, it's nice to see spills on the counter and stove tops occasionally, rather than the super staged and edited cooking videos typical of YT, cuz...real life.

I remember taking my then 5 year old child to the grocery store and walking through the "baking aisle". We saw some chocolate chips and they asked to buy them to snack on and I said, those are ingredients! We don't just eat them plain (I probably sounded mortified at the thought!). The ladies shopping around us smiled at me and my kiddo likely was befuddled. Of course at home we would eat a small handful of chocolate chips on occasion, but usually they did go into a recipe...Now, I know the type of household I grew up in! Thx!

I love your videos! As someone who used to work in food service, though, and had it drilled into me, may I suggest you use a spatula when scraping out your bowls? It really does maximize your ingredients. My boss once demonstrated to me how we got another full serving of something out of the bowl when we thoroughly scraped it with a spatula instead of just half heartedly scraping it like I used to do. On a tight budget, that can be important! But that's just a humble suggestion and I hope it comes across in the helpful spirit in which it was intended. If not, ignore me. :)

With working with a budget, not knowing what is good (or not)it's hard to know what to make and who wants to make something and not like it. I appreciate the honesty and integrity of your cooking, the videos, what your view is about what something tastes like, or if it's needs something else in it or you can substitute something in it to either taste better or for it to be less costly. The recipes look good! I've only had the Christmas Crack and it is delicious 😋. A couple of suggestions, to get a better toffee definitely use butter. Also, I've learned to use a pan the is smaller than a regular cookie sheet or jelly roll pan. I used the bigger pan and had more crackers than toffee. When I used a smaller pan it turned out better. Also other toppings for the Christmas crack are prcans, walnuts or crushed candy canes.

Great desserts! When you make a candy, like the toffee on the crackers, you need real butter. Also, a candy themometer is a good idea. Some recipes say to cook it this amount of time, etc... but a thermometer makes sure the candy works and sets up right. I have been making candy for years, and learned by making a lot of mistakes. Also, once you make homemade marshmallows, you will never go back. You may be able to get the ingredients at DT!

I have made christmas crack before and it turned really good. It didn't taste burnt, but I used just plain old saltines. I agree pretzels would be good.

I don't know what's better - a new (old?) video. I am glad you included the tiger fudge with this video because it saves me finding it in the older video, the puppy cameos or the recipe names!!! I guess technically we could call the brownies Super NES because of the Oreos. The edge pieces are my favourites. I have one of those trays that makes all edges brownies. I am really glad you posted the Christmas C recipe. I know now go with the better ingredients (sorry Dollar Tree). I'm sorry, the "pause" as you were trying the cookies?? I don't think I have ever seen you make that particular face in all the videos you have published for us. 😊

I saw the "fudge" on a other utube channel. I have been making batches for the last couple months. For $2.50 you get a lot of "fudge". All these recipes look tasty. The "Christmas Crack" is delicious. Thanks for these ideas. I hope you feel better soon.

Rebecca Hi. Hope you feel better. I have watched and enjoy your videos. Today I discovered a Dollar Tree near me that I didn't know existed. It has the plus. I bought the egg rolls, the peppers and onions. and some spices from your videos. You were in my head. It was fun and I will go back when I have more time to search.

Rebecca, it took me 2 Christmases to finally learn how to make Christmas Crack. Butter made the difference. This year I'm using pretzels. Lots of love to you. Get well soon.

Try the Betty Crocker “crinkle cookie” recipe with cake mix. 2 eggs, 1/3 c oil and 1 tsp vanilla (or whatever flavor you’re looking for). Same process, but refrigerate for 1 hour before rolling in powdered sugar. My grandkids love helping with them and said the birthday cake ones we made like Grinch cookies (green food coloring and a red m&m for the ❤) were “bangin”😂. I preferred the devils food flavor, but make them small, super rich. I know they don’t have those flavors at DT, but they’re like $1 at Walmart.

The first time I tasted the toffee with the crackers, I called it "holy sh!t" toffee it was so good. I think the butter and the precise recipe would make the biggest difference in the flavor of that. I love the double cookie brownies, too and I also would love an alternate name. EDIT: I was just reading @dilliya comment about liking "a centerpiece of brownies". That's a great name! Centerpiece Brownies!! The Oreos are the centerpiece between the cookie and brownie layers. YUM!

First time I made the Christmas crack I used wax paper. I learned pretty fast that wax paper & parchment are NOT the same lol. It stuck to it and it was such a mess. I have no problems when using the parchment though lol
