@@Sean-AI7EQ Hey Sean - thanks for watching! Newberry sounds like a great place to play radio, I'll have to check it out. I have tried 40M, but normally I go out with a dipole and can't always get the antenna high enough to do much good. However this time I used my Buddipole which supported 40M pretty well.
@@W0KNI I've worked a bunch of the parks here in central Oregon. My favorite antenna is my homebrew linked dipole or my Buddipole Deluxe in a vertical configuration. I always try 40m in hopes of giving an Oregon park to others in Oregon. Thanks for sharing your videos! Happy POTA!
@@Sean-AI7EQ I don't know if you made it to the end of the video but I got K7DUD at the end and who was just over the coastal range, about 50 miles away. 73
This is a fantastic video! From showing us how you actually set up your Antenna to the fun of watching how you actually talk on your radio!♡ thank you very very much for showing us details! Absolutely delighted 😀♡ *edit: spelling
Fantastic! It's lots of fun to get your equipment out, setup and on the air for a few hours. Nice days are getting hard to find this time of year where I'm at but when I do get out it's always a pleasure. 73
Hey Nick - thanks for watching. That antenna is a great option to have and so convenient to carry around. Most locations I go there's always a tree limb ready for a dipole, but not always and certainly not the beaches! Hope to hear you out there. 73
Steve! This was super fun to watch. Cinematic drone and b-roll shots. And your history of the park. And I it’s been forever since I’ve seen someone us an old radio communication like that. Parks On The Air?!?!?!? That is super cool. I think I’m going to make a short documentary about that. I’m a nomadic filmmaker so that is perfect. Love your channel. Subscribed!
Great video.. Just found you. That park seems very RF quiet. Good ol Neil, K7SEN is always there with a cheerful greeting.. He's in my log many times. WA7WS
@@W0KNI I got a chance to activate K-0200 about a week ago.. it was great.. And, as you mentioned, NL7V was one of my contacts IIRC.. If not it was AL7KC :D
LOL - I did! I liked the 991A but there were enough things I didn't like that made me want to try something else. I'm REALLY happy with the 7300. I found a guy who wanted to swap his 7300 for a 991A so we did. Cheers!
Hey POTA Masters! What kind of historical parks have you been at this year?!? Let us know!!
I activated the Newberry National Volcanic Monument in central Oregon earlier this year. That was fun. Do you ever hop on 40m on your activations?

Ha I typed my 40m question and you went to 40m. I have tried to get you before but being in Oregon I think we are just to close most of the time.

Glad you enjoyed it! So happy you liked it. I try to post to YT when I can. 73
Thanks for sharing this video Stephen. Inspirational for my first future POTA activation.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the sub! I checked out your channel and really enjoyed some of your posts. Very cool. Cheers!
Good to see an Oregon POTA. KQ7R, OSU grad also.
Great! Thanks for stopping by. Oregon has so much to offer POTA explorer's. I hope to hear you on the air! Cheers

Thanks for watching! It was a really nice park, away from traffic and at the time pretty empty. NL7V from Alaska is another one! LOL
@@W0KNI Yep, NL7V is in there more than once as well..

Get a 7300 to replace the 991a? 😆
