BACKGROUND: We flew from England on Holiday to Los Angeles mainly to be guests at the 2013 Ten-Four Police Vehicle event (See • Ten Four (10 4) Parade... ), The wife (an English version of Hot Lips) and I also wanted to visit the location of the MASH or M*A*S*H film set in Malibu Creek State Park.
In the same area are other film locations including where Butch and Sundance leaped into the lake and where the village used in the Planet of the Apes was built. It is around a 4 mile hike down Crags Road in the park, but quite doable if you take plenty of water and dress for the conditions. The scenery is incredible and well worth the effort. I am just sorry the video does not do it justice, but all I had with me was a cheap and old pocket camera. Also please forgive me the puffing and wheezing, but I was nearly seventy then and very much a city boy (London).

The only thing sadder than watching this, is knowing there will never be a show as good as this ever again. Thanks for sharing...

Fantastic!!!! It's great to see that M*A*S*H is still around in lot's of minds and hearts. It's not just the show, it's the messages we received. Do not submit to oppression, do not submit to inhumanity, political bigotry or any restriction of individual expressions. Let people live in dignity.

M*A*S*H is one of those few shows that you can watch over and over again and it never gets old.

I'm 35. So I wasn't even born when this show was coming on TV every week. Growing up I HATED this show but once I got older and could appreciate the storyline, jokes etc it's my absolute favorite show. I just finished watching the whole show for about the millionth time on HULU. It's such a great show and as someone said In another comment that their will never be another show or cast like MASH. Thank God this Isn't a show that Hollywood has decided to recreate with a new storyline and group of actors like they did with Night Court and other great show. I loved this video!

We live very close to there and I remember when I was a kid we walked with my parents to the film set while the show was still in production so we got to see the set set up. They weren't filming or anything at the time so there was no activity but it was still cool to see the Swamp and other tents from the 4077th.

When I moved to the Valley in 1982, I took a drive to Zuma Beach via Las Virgenes. As I past Malibu Creek State Park I spotted those familiar rock peaks and made a point to visit this area the following week. A week went by and there I was standing in the middle of the M.A.S.H set, with all the tents and building up, it was still an active set back then. There was a security guard watching the place and he let me look around. The guards would stay all day and night, they actually slept in the SWAMP.

I'm both happy and sad that there isn't a remake of M*A*S*H, happy because i know that no-one can ever recapture the magic that was 1972-83's M*A*S*H, but sad that the kids of this generation will not experience anything like this or have the memories that even I have of shows like this.

I've been watching a MASH marathon on Hulu for a week. Takes me back to my childhood!
