Your need to work on validating your research before producing a video. You had so many errors in this video with incorrect names, incorrect character information and incorrect facts throughout the entire video. M.A.S.H. is a tremendous TV series and deserves to be given respect and a proper presentation when publishing a video overview or informational video about it.

Agreed - there are so many glaring errors. Major Winchester never had an office with a piano in the background. The piano was in the officers' club. Winchester did attempt to play it. William Christopher did play the piano in several episodes; don't know if he could actually play the piano, however. Radar was never a nurse; he was the company clerk. These are just a few of the huge errors.

They also showed William Christopher while calling him Harry Morgan, and saying that Harry Morgan was shown several times playing the piano....when Morgan was NEVER shown playing the piano, whereas FATHER MUCAHY was; who was played by WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER.

Google indicates that Alan Alda was diagnosed with Parkinsons, not prostate cancer. And Larry Linville (Frank Burns) left the show because he felt that he'd done as much as he could with the character. He was one of the nicest people on the cast.
Rich Jones you did more research about MASH than the person who wrote the article 😆. Alan Alda even announced his Parkinson’s diagnosis on television.
His Parkinson's diagnosis was rather recent (2015), and would not have affected the MASH crew on set as the show had been off the air for over 30 years at that point.

Frank Burns and Percy Wetmore are the two most talented actors to play villains in modern times.I truly hated both and forgot sometimes they were just characters.Terrible ending when Frank got promoted and sent home.Much better when Percy Wetmore's cheese slid off his cracker and he left Shawshank Prison for Briar Ridge Nervous Hospital.
Yes I agree, Larry Linville was actually quite smart and a great guy, go look up Radars interview talking about the people who played on mash. He gives a glowing insight to what the actor was like.

I have Hulu mainly because they have all the MASH episodes. I have seen them all, but it is the first 3 seasons with Stevenson that I watch over and over.... I never saw him in anything but MASH, so I couldn't say how good or bad he was an actor, but his Henry Blake is possibly my favorite character from ANY TV show or movie.
@@EricThompson1965 Yes. his Henry Blake was an amusingly (?) affable, complacent, low key, lackadaisical contrast to Harry Morgan's methodically, briskly conscientious Colonel Potter. Thus at the end of Blake's story arc, it was a huge shock to viewers and his Mash colleagues when the helicopter taking him to his plane for the States crashed, killing all aboard. Not a dry eye at that tragic incident.

Klinger's home town was TOLEDO! He always said it was TOLEDO, it was constantly referenced, constantly repeated, and was well known to anyone who actually watched the damn show.
There are constant references in this video to actors, by name, while showing photographs of other actors (as an example; Sally Kellerman being shown as Lorretta Swit).
These people didn't actually do any research on this; they made it up as they went.

I am a huge MASH fan. I have never heard or read anything about Alda disliking any cast member. But mentioning animosity, real or otherwise, between beloved characters from beloved TV shows grabs our attention... and makes the creator money

So many mistakes - Larry Linville played Burns, Radar was not a nurse, and Loretta Swit, not Swift, is still alive. Sally Kellerman, who played Hot Lips in the movie, died this spring. Klinger was from Toledo. And others - it's like you were talking about a different show.

Mulchahey was my favourite! Actually my favourite line was when Hoolihan was talking too much about her new engagement and Burns was genuinely upset by her callous behaviour. When he mentions he might take out a particular nurse and she says “isn’t she a bit young” and he responds “I thought it would make a good change”.. it’s really the only time you can like the Burns character!

Ditto to all the criticisms. MASH was an absolutely outstanding show, and deserves much more than this video delivers. Halfway through, I started wondering if this was a weird attempt at satire. Many of the 'facts' are just dead wrong -- as if the writer used a Mad Libs game to cobble together a script from thin air!
The theme was originally in the movie MASH. They didn’t use the words from the song in the show because the producers thought they were too dark. The only true thing I heard was about the adverse conditions they worked under when they filmed at the park.

I was going to list all the GLARING mistakes in this video but a quick tiptoe through the comments revealed I am not alone in noticing them so there's no reason to point them out. Blake was a bad actor, I do not agree, he was supposed to be a laid back and a little taken advantage of, But all of the actors did not fit the normal military profile, Accept for Hot lip's and Burn's that Alway's tried to get the others to follow the military code of conduct while being deflated for doing so.. I have fond memories of all the actors and thought they all played their parts well, of course there is no denying that Alan Alda was the star of the show and frankly I was surprised he did star in lead roles in to many movies, I thought he was that good of an actor!
M.A.S.H. I believe is one the highest rated TV series of all time and was the longest running series for a while.. Yep 11 seasons and the last episode had 77% of the TV audience watching it. Which was also a record amount of viewing audience..
It was funny, it was sad, and some episodes were both funny and sad, Used to watch it all the time as a kid... Fond memories, as a matter of fact I'm fixing to look for some episodes on RUclips, I already found the last episode that is supposed to be uploaded in FHD!

The camera dolly pictured became rare to see or work with. It was either a MaCallister or in that category of heavy as hell studio Dollies. I only encountered one, one time in a NYC studio. Grip and Electric tools have changed markedly since I was last working in the last '80s and early '90s. They are some wonderful and unique as well as inspiring tools of what is now a really matured business.

Altman" receiving credit on the record was none other than Mike Altman, the teenage son of Robert Altman. The director first took a crack at writing the lyrics himself. However, he felt his output was not "stupid enough." He wanted the song to be the "stupidest song ever written," you see. "I've got a kid who's a total idiot," he told his composer Johnny Mandel. So he gave it to his 14-year-old kid.
The outdoor scenes were filmed in the foothills of California. In fact one goof always seen are the high tension towers and wires.

My mother was a surgical nurse in a WWII field hospital. She hated MASH. She hated all the joking and flirting in the operating room. She said, "We didn't have time to joke or flirt in surgery. And I bet the real MASH didn't either." She also believed many civilian patients today die because young surgeons want to emulate the "cool" surgeons on MASH. "The young surgeons use brain cells they need for surgery to make snappy banter," she said. Interestingly, in the book MASH, the author treated surgery as sacred. No smart-alecking or sexual harassment. The book's surgeons even beat up an incompetent surgeon to convince him to transfer to another unit. You can blame the MASH movie and TV show for injecting all those inappropriate comments into the operating room.

Alda was NOT brought in to replace McClain Stevenson. That was Harry Morgan. 1:18 Maybe the presenter is saying that as a producer on the show it was Alda's decision as to who would replace Stevenson. Some muddy writing there.
