Retinal is basically short for retinaldehyde. It’s a retinoid and a form of vitamin A.
(In short)
It’s the form before getting converted into retinoic acid.
As per me, mostly this form is used in formulation because it tends to act faster on the skin.

Hello manasi tai , retinal is an aldehyde version of retinol ; it's a form of vitamin A which is 11* more effective than retinol . So the conversion is retinol palmitate -> retinol -> retinal -> tretinoin . I hope you understood. Btw not a dermat but love reading about skincare. Loved the video❤

There are different derivatives of retinoids which include retinol, retinal, tretinoin, isotretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene, etc. Retinal is also one of them, but it is newer on the market, is supposed to work faster than retinol, and is also less irritating than retinol.
Hello, Retinal is the aldehyde and retinol is the alcohol group from chemistry. Retinal is more active than retinol.

Retinal is more potent than retinol btw
Retinol is having alcohol (-OH) as thier main group in structural formula while Retinal is having aldehyde (-CHO) group as main functional group...
Retinal is not milder manasi, its stronger than retinol. That’s why its used in lesser percentage in the composition. Google the difference, you will get to know.

So, in skin care it is used to measure the concentration of active ingredients in a product, here referring to retinal.... Hope this helps.....

Honestly I must say Manasi, for the first time in my life someone made me buy a facewash and a cream. As soon as i saw the innesfree facewash is available i added cosarx cream and placed the order along with our simple wala recommendations !!! Now will be eagerly waiting to try them out!
