Today, we're looking at two 2023 QD-OLEDs: the Samsung S90C and the Samsung S95C. The S90C is one of if not the most popular QD-OLEDs available right now. It's an amazing TV and one of the best out there regarding overall picture quality and features, but it has a bigger sibling, the S95C. Is the extra cost of the S95C worth it? Let's find out.

You guys should do a video on earplugs. I go to many concerts and I always want to know what best for protecting ears and sound quality. Another thing is, you guys do many reviews on speakers and sound quality, but a huge thing about audiophiles is also protecting your hearing. So it only makes sense you guys do a video on this topic. I’ve used Vibes, eargasms, and loop earplugs, all claiming to be hi fidelity and I like Vibes the most.
At 77", the S90C on sale was the most I was willing to spend on a TV. So, for me, between a 77" S90C & a 65" S95C at about the same price, the S90C was the obvious choice. I've had it for 6 months & I'm delighted
Regards, great choice. I also have one. The 77-inch S90c, which has a 2nd generation matrix, is not the same as the 65s90c compared here, this one has a 2022 matrix, the 65s95b. In addition, the Samsung s90c with a PC works perfectly at 4k144hz because it doesn't have a connect box, it plays full 4hdmi 48Mgbit. Regards .

FYI Samsung UN65ks8000, (2016 Led with one connect box), does the black screen for Xbox series x and ps5. This typically happens more when the consoles start up, and a few moments there after. Work around when this happens is to change the Source i.e. from Hdmi 1 to hdmi 2 wait a second and change it back. This more often than not stops the issue. I think it's the "handshake" between the connected devices and the tv. I believe it became more prevalent after a past firmware update, but I'm not sure. Finally, I'm also not sure if its the lack of hdmi2.1 or not. I'd love to know the reason. I'm currently looking for a new tv, likely OLED but may not consider Samsung due to the updates that typically downgrade picture/cause issues, and this black screen issue. I prefer Samsung products, and the QD Oleds look better than competition, but I'm not sure I trust that there wont be another firmware that screws things up, and I cant go back to the previous iteration. Does LG do this stuff too?

S90C beats it in terms of hardware but LG in terms of software.
We've purchased the LG C4, but we're still waiting for it to arrive in our lab! We'll be sure to get a review of it as soon as we can!
I bought the S95C then returned it for S90C because the one connect box was making the TV drop signal sometimes.
S90C is best deal given how good the colors look and how cheap it is considering the quality of the screen.

I can understand, however im sure you realize how big and popular Dyson is as a brand and this is their first robot vacuum which could very well dirupt the market from the usual cheaper unknown chinese brands offerings. Dyson over engineers their products to awesome class leading performance usually.
Stay far away from any one connect box!! Been cutting out randomly for my Samsung bought back in 2018, the fact they still haven’t corrected this problem still in 2024 is mind blowing 🤯
So many issues with my s90c, I m returning back to amazon after just one day for an LG C3 55, yesterday I tried so many time to turn on the hdr and I was stucking with a message from the tv "service unavailable", I was't able to switch tv format from 16:9 to 4:3 again tv says "service not available", I wasn't able to change tv language....and better to not speak about the navigation on the tv settings is a nightmare....and last the remote without numbers buttons: It tooks 3 minutes just to write on the wifi password.....in one word a very bad "out of the box experience".
I had the blackouts on the s95c, Samsung came out and changed the board in the one connect box, since then no issues, but after that I don’t trust it now
Is the motion smoothing the same on these tv's or is the s95c better? I want as much soap opera effect as i can get, i love it lol. Im thinking about upgrading to an oled from my qn90b and i am looking into these 2 tv's as well as the lg c3/g3.

I have the s90c and it's great. But there's Something off about the image that i just can't explain. It's like I'm being blinded in my peripheral vision when looking at the screen. And There's this "shine" to the picture that really bothers me 😬
As of June 2024 I bought a 65” S95C for 60% off its original 2023 MSRP which is an amazing deal. As a non gamer possible blackouts for gaming don’t concern me, so far it’s an awesome tv.
Are all the 65in s90c gen2 panels now?
Hi Rtings, would like to ask. Will any QD OLED TV screen exhibit slight purple haze distortion if the room is too bright, similar to how the screen handles reflections in daylight situations? I've heard that WOLED TVs from LG won't suffer from this issue, but QD OLED screens might be affected.
Maybe only the S95D matte panel will experience that.

If one get technical, the oneconnect box causes the hdmi port to be 40gbit while the non oneconnect one is full 48gbit, this does cause some quirks for pc users in some cases.

We bought and tested the 65-inch Samsung S90C, and these results are also valid for the 55-inch and 77-inch models. The 83-inch model uses a WOLED panel instead of the QD-OLED panel found in the smaller sizes, so our results don't apply to it. Note that the last five letters in the model number (AFXZA in this case) vary between retailers and individual regions, but there's no difference in performance. There are also regional models, like the Samsung S92C and the Samsung S93C, but they're identical to the Samsung S90C.

For most of us these comparisons are not relevant as most of the difference are negligible. And most of us don’t get chance to compare side by side.
OLED burn in still has my 15+ hour pc desktop daily usage use case as a no go for either, and sticking to my nearly OLED like LCD QN90A
Can the One Connect box be somehow fixed or mounted behind the tv in case I want it wall-mounted?
I don’t want to see any wires in case it’s wall mounted (power outlet and coax cable are also at some distance from ground and will be covered by tv itself too) and can’t put that box somewhere down and seeing that cable

We bought and tested this TV when it first released, but while we wait for the 2024 units we purchased to be delivered, we put out a few revies of 2023 models as not everyone buys the newest models every year and we expect price drops. So, it’s still relevant for lots of people looking at 2023 models!

Hahha…IN CANADA 🇨🇦 there is S92C. THAT is d TRUE-BEST of both worlds. I saw S90C. Its too dim n too blue for my taste tho. Some shadow details have a -Zoom out/back out dim down illusion. But its Minor. I am sure ppl coming from OLED they wont notice it. Its the same thing Iphone 14pro 15pro ppl will see XS 11pro 12pro too dim. But YEES S90C so good! 😊
The reduced bandwidth may affect 144hz 10 bit hdr at 4k
My S95C is being delivered today! I watch in another YT vid that the drop out issue goes away by simply turning off game mode. I hope this is true. 🤞

Yep thats true, no reports of drops outside of game mode. Also they seem to have fixed the ocb after july. So look on the sticker when it was produced. Doesnt mean that boxes previous to that date dont have the issue but if you dont care about game mode than it doesnt really matter. Try your ps5 in game mode. If you dont have drops when gaming all week than your in the clear.
I had the problem with game mode and it’s due one connect box there is no reason to get the s95c and turn of game mode that’s what makes it stand out with its 144 refresh rate I just returned it and got a new one with no problem I claimed DOA

Was so focused on getting s90c but heard great things about s89c and Best Buy has good deal 2k for 77”. Went and got s89c and it’s very similar to s90c. Is it true that s89c uses same panel as s95c???? Over all I’m super happy with tv color are amazing and 144hz for pc is treat 😍😍😍
S89c is NOT same panel like s95c. Its Not Even QD Oled. Its only a Woled. S90C is a QD slightly less bright than s95c. S89c and S90C are not similar at all

Is the panel lottery problem still a thing? Ive heard its a coin flip if you get a WOLED or a QDOLED with those being better.
No not with the older 2023 generation. The 55, 65 and 77 inches are all QD-OLEDs. Anything other than that size is WOLED. 42, 48 and 83 inches are WOLED since there are no QD-OLEDs with that size. There are 32, 34 Ultrawide and 27 inch QD-OLED PC monitors though.
I got gen1 s90c, its literally perfect, no dse, zero banding, not one dead pixel... Its showroom quality panel, if it lasts more than 5 years ill go samsung for life... Stunning tv for 1k

Even 🤑2022 Sony Flagship LED X95K look 👀 so cheaply made low contrast, Bad blooming , pestle blue tint !😮 they purposely make LED line inferior so they can charge OLED 2X price . 😮😮😮
Samsung started to make their LED flagship 3-4 % more blooming 😮ever since they started selling QD-OLED . Ppl bought S90C have NO idea 🤷🏼 even 2020 Samsung Q90T(240hz) Q80T were INKY Black ! Back then . Pricy !!!

@@Yoga_Tv_buying WOLED is dim? Have you seen LG G4? That beast hits 2000nits and their Alpha 11 AI chip is known to be the industry best along with Sony XR Processors. Brighter than most QLED Tvs out there. OLED is premium and I used to own HiSense U8K which I had to return because of the horrible motion and blooming that bothers me. You just don’t get the inky black with dull LED TVs. Only people who argues that LED is better than OLED are the Chinese panel vendors since China can’t produce and compete in premium lineup of OLED. We all know once you go OLED you don’t go back to cheap LED/MiniLed.

In the future I would like you to talk about the possible failures of some televisions since these Samsung QD-OLED televisions are causing motherboard failures that cause green screens and pixel death.
I think they were made In India last year. I am not sure if the North American s95C s90C made in India too. But yeah they are moving to Vietnam this year for the D models. I will still Skip. Cuz new Manufacture always throw curve balls.

Hello, great comparison, but not fair. Why didn't you compare both 77-cali models? The 77-cali S90c model has the same matrix as the S95C. Moreover, the S90c without one conect box plays 4k144hz without any problems, whereas the S95c has limitations due to the mentioned one conect box. I have a 77s90c, I bought it in great price of $2,200 on Black Fridey. And with this TV I connected my old Samsung QLED Q9FN with my newer LG C1. The brightness of the Samsung and the black of the LG OLED. A great TV.
These blackouts started with QN95A.
One connect box is guilty not TV
UN65ks8000 for me, especially xbsx and ps5. May have been firmware update, Idk.

is someone going to report on botched update 1402? since that update we have random audio drops in basically all content when using a soundbar, it is really annoying and Samsung has not oficially acknowledged it
Of course the $500 difference is mainly because of the bigger screen of the S95 with some added bonuses of a slightly better picture.
No that’s same screen size prices, you can get the same sizes on the S90c

Just cus of burn-in, i wont buy oled till it becomes like qled. Until then, i will get qled tvs. How about reviews of qn85d and qn90d? Is qn85d better than qn90b/c? Why are samsung tvs so expensive even after the year of building is past eg 2021, 22 and 23 tvs are still expensive

Im an LG oled fan and would recommend waiting for the B4 if you're on a budget.
I agree but If your living room is very bright during daytime, I will choose S90c, but Ok if you can control the windows brightness. This happen to me, I end up 77" s90c Costco for 2200 bucks, B3 was 1800. S90C is the same in picture quality as s95c.

The S90C is just a s95b. dont waste your money. my s95b is broken stuck in a boot loop. 1 year 4 months old and only use 2 to 3 hours a day. samsung will not help me in anyway. now im stuck using a q80t. be careful

Samsung is known for BOTH _ bad quality, n BAD software maintenance. Its NOT an opinion, is wide acknowledged. Their S90C S95C most Likely made in India. Their 2024 QD-OLED moving to Vietnam. They swapping manufacture like TINDER swipe . This guy’s boot loop is caused by Tzan OS n Software bug, NOT the Hardware issue regardless of what gen of screen they use.
Q80T n S95B are like d BEST LED n QD-OLEDs. I wanted Q80T n S95B. I ended up getting the 2 HIsense Flagship instead for the exact same reason I was warned about the Samsung issues u have.
I end up getting H9G which was rival Q80T Q90T. N Hisense U8 series . That U8H in store after 30 seconds tweak looked 98% identical to S95B. It was Jaw dropping.
Too bad that Samsung doesn’t Make their LED as Incky Black as the Q80T Q90T days any more, since they are promoting QD-OLED agreesively for more money. The Newer QN95B QN95C will Have More blooming than the Q80T Q90T.
Try shorting the relay on the PSU section, it trips power off protection because of the wrong settings and as results loops the TV. Look for more info on Google.
It's great until they get nerfed by new firmware update...

This is not an accurate review. The S90c has 2 panels. If you are lucky you get a qd-oled (which is what her S90c happens to have). However, many have a WRGB panel made by LG, which is inferior in color volume by a noticeable amount when measured
YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG. The 2024 S90(D) has the two panels NOT the 2023 S90(C) witch are all QD OLEDS. The review is accurate, your posting is NOT. Look into it.

My tv is a good 2 feet from the door & visitors see the back of the tv first. So yeah looks matter - i pay good money. So i expect tvs to be a piece of art just like furniture- that is y can't go with anything but a sony.

I have the 65 inch S95C...And I say that anyone in the US should buy the 77 inch S89C and hack it to a S95C via the service menu.
Dont buy the S90C anymore because it got so scarce that it costs almost as much as the S95C. At that point you should better get the more premium and brighter S95C that also has a better sound system.
I want to but I’m scared because I watch a lot of Netflix and don’t want to miss out on the the Dolby Vision upgrade video quality

Only the 77 inch model because the 55 and 65 inch models come with a gamble, will my TV have a 2nd gen qd-oled panel or will it have the 1st gen panel. Well I bought the s90c 65 inch a few months ago and I lost that gamble, mine has the 1st gen panel. You can find this out in its service menu.

Samsung Quality is not reliable . I had a Samsung 95C. Within 7 months tv stopped working and till date these Samsung people are unable to rectify the issue nor are they ready to replace the TV.I would suggest to look for some reliable products and after sales service .Some brands don’t deserve your hard earned money .

Yeah they should have mentioned it. I got myself a s90c 65" a few months back and it was also recently built so I thought (hoped) for sure it'd have the 2nd gen qd-oled panel just like the s95c has. Well with sureness in my head I went into its service menu to feel the joy of the proof of the 2nd gen panel in it. Well my smile soon turned into a string of curses when instead of the proof of a 2nd gen panel in it staring back at me in its place was the proof of a 1st gen panel staring back at me. Yeah, to say that had me slightly annoyed would be slightly under exaggerated. lol

Actually these are no worse than the 2024 models for a lesser price. I for one am deciding between these exact two models. I think there are many people like myself. Once the new TVs come out for the year people start to buy the previous years TVs so this is a very timely video.

Neither buy Sony. Samsung as a company has failed me too many times and my S95C along with their new s90d panel lottery model have cemented me in not wanting to ever deal with them again.. my S95C needed a "upgraded board" serviced just to make high refresh rate work..a 2.5k dollar TV shouldn't need servicing right away to make it work
