Marketing genius. Makes you sit through shows you normally wouldn't watch so you can continue the overall storyline happening. So now you're invested in the new show while learning interest in these other shows as well.

@@jacked_asian very loosely, there is a children's TV show (that's not real) that somehow glitches into Adult Swim's network, and the glitch slowly corrupts the Adult Swim network while two characters from that children's show are stuck navigating and running from the glitch until the one is completely consumed by the glitch and the other one is lost still wandering. If you watch from start to finish like I did, each episode of each show has one or two short segments where something goes wrong. For example, when Morty points the gun at Rick's head during their episode, Morty glitches into a demonic-esque monster for a few seconds, and then the episode continues as normal. You can also see the two character's from the mock children's show often running in and out of scenes from the shows as well

I can imagine some kid turning in the TV unknowingly to adult swim then Bon Bon shows up saying “Maybe we should let the darkness consume us” and then turning off the TV.
That's why we have Adult Swim. Other channels won't allow it. But Adult Swim doesn't care.
I ended up forgetting that these are edited episodes and I got slightly freaked out when the glitches began. Great work!

Yeah Joe pera talks with you is one of my favorite shows, if you are planning to watch it I'd recommend Season 2.

Never watched anything including Joe Pera before, but I found it so deeply endearing. It's like watching the embodiment of a kid seeing a bird up close for the first time. The sense of wonder and discovery is portrayed so incredibly well that it makes me sympathise with him profoundly.
Joe was me when I first heard "Baba O Riely". Easter 2014 on Uncle Mike's Zune. 6th grade. The Who in the middle of nowhere with a door image. Windows 7 computer in the other room in CT. That opening really blew me away :)

I always would skip adult swim when i saw it on the guide until one time I woke up when it was playing and actually gave it a chance. I now love the show, you just need to give it a chance and realize it's not a typical surreal adult swim show.
I should expand on this comment since it sounds like i don't like the surreal stuff. I meant I would skip adult swim when I saw Joe Pera. If just about anything else was playing I'd watch it. But now I love adult swim, Joe Pera and all.
@@colleenflattery4755 was gonna mention this episode SPECIFICALLY, it was one of the few episodes I saw when it was first running and it has stuck with me for years. I've never empathized with any emotion more than his pure, unadulterated excitement to share a song everybody else already knew.

I was already a fan of ATHF. I'll see what other shows Adult Swim has that I previously ignored.
