Take stuff to consignment, thrift stores, and shelters. Remember that getting rid of stuff you don't have a use for helps other people. You're doing a good job decluttering your house. I watch all your decluttering videos.
If you have a pregnancy care center near you they will take donations for people that are in need but don’t have alot of money. I have donated to them in the past. They are great for young single mother’s. Most of them offer counseling, pregnancy support and and general care for the well being of Mother’s and babies. Especially for low income and may not have family and may otherwise not have items they need. Just another suggestion. Keep up the great work! 👍
We do Christmas ornaments of all the places we travel. It’s so sentimental every year opening up the box and seeing all the places we’ve been! And no dusty shelves with Knick knacks to care for.
Good you are working on ending compulsive buying. After my sister and I decluttered my Dad's 3 story house I realized, because he and his wife grew up during the Great Depression when millions were dirt poor, they were both hoarders. Instead of tossing old, broken small appliances, old clothing, old magazines, etc., they filled closets and storage rooms with useless items. Their living room was a maze of bookcases loaded with old magazines. They rarely ate the food they home canned and we discovered some had exploded, the rest had no dates on them. We literally took over 5 tons of junk to the dump, and as much as possible was donated. Not saying you are like that, but as you age and get too tired to clean and declutter, unless you permanently reduce impulse buying, you will be a hoarder.
Our office was a mess. You couldn’t get in the door. Most of it was my husband’s. He actually cleaned it out yesterday and put stuff in our shed. So now I can go and find stuff to send to Goodwill. I would like to get a smaller desk. The one we have is way too big for the room. We will have it cleaned up before my daughter and son in law come the first week of April. She keeps their house spotless. Even when she was working two jobs. I’m not that ambitious. I love clothes and shoes too. I have to clean out my closet constantly. I have three older granddaughters. And they will take most of what I clean out of my closet. In fact, my oldest granddaughter just had my great grandson less than a year ago. So she doesn’t have pants that fit her. And they all have bigger chests than I did. So they like my shirts are bigger. My oldest granddaughter left her bag of clothes when she came once. The two granddaughters who live close went through and took a lot of it. So she took home what was left in a suitcase. But I went through my jeans and sweaters. So she will have them to go through when she comes back. My eighteen year old granddaughter asks to go through my closet every time she comes over. She loves hoodies. And I do have a few. But I’ve given her the rest. And now she’s not at home and her sister said she’s going to throw her clothes away. I told her to put them in a trash bag and bring them here. She doesn’t go to their house every often. She will come here.
this video is the best, I really just want someone to declutter along with lol. I am cleaning out my closet and getting rid of everything I have not used in the past year.
Easiest thing is to post stuff on your local buy nothing group and set it out on the curb. People will come and get it and you are done and know it went to somebody that really wanted it. I do FCFS and no messaging so I don't get a bunch of messages people asking me to hold stuff. Actually have stuff set out right now. I do watch you for cleaning motivation and I really appreciate your videos and life lessons.
Hey Friend, Happy Tuesday. You could give all of the baby stuff to thrift stores or donate it I’m sure anyone would be thankful for it. ❤ you’re doing an amazing job decluttering your home and you have got rid of a lot of things. I always find it hard to declutter because I don’t want to get rid of anything that I’m attracted to which is everything. 😂 You make decluttering look easy so maybe you will inspire me to get rid of some things that I have been putting off. ❤ I love shopping good sales and buying things I need for myself or for my house. I’m bad with taking free things from people that offer them to me even though there might not be any room for that item in my house. 😅❤
When there is a lot of stuff in my home I feel anxious and my house never feels clean even though I know it is. I feel so much better decluttering it. i love your cleaning videos they are very motivating. I have a couple others that are as genuine as you, Kristen Kasper & Charlotte Grove Farmhouse are great also.❤
Thanks for the motivation! You need to find a consignment store near you. I stopped doing yard sale and facebook marketplace because of the hassle they are. The consignment place is go to, you drop your stuff off and they handle the rest! I opt not to pick up what doesn’t sell because the store will donate it if you want. It’s a win win situation! Also, the consignment store takes things everyday so I’m not confined to rearranging my schedule.
Believe me every day is a great day to organize something ✨ You should see my office - not just my house :) It's an obsession and keeping everything clean and organized it's a true obsession I swear 😅❤
Hi Michelle 🌸always do what will fit you best. Blessings others we know is a blessing. I donate when I can’t find anyone to gift it to. Because the thrifts store s sells it’s at higher cost. Today someone just cannot afford the cost. 💜
My daughter’s neighborhood has garage sales and they always have huge crowds. Last year my daughter made over $800. They are having another sale in April.
Hi Michelle. For future reference before your move FB has buy nothing groups ppl that will take your stuff. Buy Nothing (county where you live). But stipulate that you can not deliver if you can't. Many low income do not have transportation. Many will pick up but if you say up front you can't deliver there won't be extra messaging back and forth. Good luck with the de clutter.
I think I like to donate. I have never put anything up for sale, including my car, my phones, my house... I have never sold anything in my entire life esp. after 20's maybe but I've advised hundreds of my clients on how to take their business forward $ :) I try to do what you're doing behind the camera in my real life and I love to hear from you just the way I love ❤️ ps. 18:24
Love this video! Definitely resonates with me as my daughter has way too much. I just did a massive declutter of her room alone with 4 bags to be donated. There’s no more oh that’s cute and buying it because I don’t have space for it anymore. This year I’ve decluttered so much and it feels like a massive weight has been lifted because I don’t need to keep finding a new place to put something. If it brings someone else joy then I’m all for it because it’s only bringing me clutter and headaches 😅
WOWWWW...U DID A GREAT JOB ON DECLUTTERING THINGS 👍GOOD JOB KEEP UP THE AMAZING JOB THAT U DO THXS FOR SHAREING LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING UR NEXT VIDEO 😊MUCH APPRECIATED N MUCH LOVE ❤
Take the stuff to consignment shops. They do the work and you’ll earn some money back and what doesn’t sell, donate. Btw. I love decluttering videos. They motivate me and this is the start of a new year and time for me to start also
As far as the baby stuff goes. If you have a once upon a child I do know that's a consignment placeand they will purchase. Your items or most of your itemsif they are in good condition and they take clothes toys all kinds of things and not just baby clothes.
Hello Michelle, I always love your videos. Maybe you could try Poshmark or Thred Up plus consignment. There are also shelters for young mothers that always are needing baby items. Just a thought. I know how hard it is to let go. My love and blessings are with you ♥️🥰🌹🤗
Hey there wow you´ve got some work to do! LoL i swear if you get rid of 97% of this stuff you´ll gain so much more space and freedom of not having to dust, clean, maintain and re - organize the same stuff over and over again. Just let it all go i promise you´lll not miss it!
If decluttering is hard for you, don't try to give it to family or friends. Don't try to sell it. Don't complicate what needs to happen. Put it in garbage bags she's takes it to a donation center. The people there that will buy it need it so much more than your friend and family that are drowning in their own STUFF. Don't make it harder. Just purge.
Great video Michelle! Thank you I’ve been playing around on my RUclips page. Posting in community. I don’t know if anyone can see it, but I thought I’d start there and see what I think. Just doing random posts. I filmed a shirt a year or so ago. I look like a weirdo and sound like one too! Lololol. I was very nervous. Just not sure what to do Have a great weekend! And thank you for all you do ❤
I have started to put my foot down with my Boomer Mom and saying “no more stuff”. She gets downright irate sometimes if I won’t take her belongings. Apparently this is thing with baby boomers because I see all over tiktok videos of Gen X and elder millennials (like myself) having to constantly fight with our parents because we don’t want their knickknacks and hoarding collections of just stuff. I started out being kind and trying to ease into it, but after she wouldn’t take “no thank you” for an answer I had to have a serious conversation with her about it. My Husband can be a little bit more of a hoarder if left unchecked so it’s REALLY difficult for him. He has an emotional attachment to everything. For example, my little sister died of cancer in 2018. She was 30. My Husband loved my little sister like one of his kids or like a little sister because my Husband is 13-almost 14 years older than her. He doesn’t want to part with a single thing of hers. I mean, bills, papers, nothing. I keep telling him that my baby sister isn’t in THINGS, she’s in memories and in the memorable keepsakes we do have. Plus, we’ve had an onslaught of belongings on his side too coming in because of some family members of his that have recently passed. I’m a sentimental person and I do like to have a few keepsakes, but the struggle over stuff and things with me and my Husband’s boomer Moms have been a real struggle with no real end in sight. So your video really spoke to me today. For real.

I love this video. I hope I can have the courage to say NO to the things we don't need too. 😊 I am on my decluttering phase too, baby steps.
