Good to know Protech stands behind their product and has excellent customer service.👍🏻
Good to hear! I doubt they'd do anything for my Malibu's lock stick, though. They probably get asked that 30 times a day... lol
Good to know in case I need warranty service in the future for my pt+. Awesome video!
I love that model.
That is an awesome looking knife I've always wanted a Strider and any Protec I just gotta keep saving! Thanks Sir!
Glad to hear you got good service.
I've never had to send any of mine in. But I did correspond with Dave about a particular knife and he was a real pleasure to deal with. This was several years ago when he built less models and production was lower. Lol. Being the owner, he probably vary rarely deals with a customer one on one anymore unless it's a substantial purchase.
My experience with them was really bad. I had 3 different malibus in one mine and other two customers for sharpening. I told them primary bevel and secondaries were very off . It looked like the stuff I did after 6 months of making knives and I wasn’t selling any of it. I sent tons of pictures and explained it all and I was pretty much that’s just what happens when you do a lot of hand finishing. I explained to him that I’m also a maker and would never send this out to a customer and I was told again that this is acceptable by them. I even escalated to someone above it was mind boggling. There’s also a couple Reddit threads that were going on around this time with people talking about all wonky sharpening and grinds. Won’t ever own any of there stuff ever again and sold the six I had.
So you're a maker, but send knives back to the manufacturer for sharpening and expect absolute perfection from a mass produced knife?
Seems pretty doubtful, Karen.
@@CNYKnifeNerd no I wasn’t sending them in I was informing them because there product was seriously messed up. More than capable of fixing it myself but people who pay money for there products shouldn’t have to have there blade reground. This should of never left there factory and they handled it very poorly. Don’t expect perfection at that price but definitely not something that’s so obviously off. Even if there doing hand finishing I highly doubt there doing much freehand grinding or without a jig. Especially since there mass produced as you said which I wouldn’t consider them to be. To me mass produced is more like spyderco or benchmade. I definitely don’t see a lot of spydercos with that messed up of grinds and benchmade has gotten much better lately. I really want American knife companies to succeed and stuff like this just drives more and more people to companies outside the US.
Pro tech warranty sounds great.. striders warranty was a bit different took 6 months , no communication, but my sng came back perfect.. better than new.
Protech warranty is top notch, they really sorted my Protech Strider pt after I stuffed it up. Even gave me extra parts and some stickers.
I've been really wanting a ProTech Strider for a long time
Glad to hear good things about customer service. I hope I won't need it got me a od green one and had to adjust the pivot because it was hitting so hard that it wouldn't lock . My favorite carry .
Top of the line service in my experience
Great to know 👍
I Love the Pro-Strider SNG so much I gots 2. Great little fellers. Mine are both aluminum. I would like a Micarta version.
I really like that knife, but all the offerings I have seen are in 154CM, which is a solid steel, but for the price available that is too high imo.
It looks good Nick. Happy you had a good customer se4vice experience with them.
Heard great things about their cs glad to see this!
Nice!
Protech has awesome customer service! I just sent Back a microtech....The email said 4 to 6 week estimate... We Will see how it goes! 👊🏼
I'm not a huge fan of autos, even though I can legally carry one here. It is nice to see good customer service from an American company though.
Good info!
My Protec Malibu is my favorite knife. Someday I will live in a free state where I can carry an auto.
Love the design but like another person said I wish they were less expensive for the steel used.
I see they started using upgraded steel in a bunch of the new models 👌
🤙🏻💪🏻🇺🇲
I had a really really bad experience with warranty at Protech. Had a Desert Warrior TR-5 and it never fired hard. They sent me springs to swap out once (which was cool of them) and that did the trick for a couple weeks but started doing the same thing again. I sent it to them and came back good but again after a few weeks started doing the same thing again. It DID fire and it DID lock but it was SLOW. I ended up trading it to a friend who knew the whole situation and the slow action didn’t bother him. I doubt I ever try another Protech again. Very displeased with the whole thing.
Hey stass wanna sell me that strider protech??? I really want 1
