Tab S7 is the better tablet. Microsd card, SamsungDex, Second Screen, better processor, more ram, less latency. But it’s also more expensive. If it’s just for taking notes, no need to spend the extra money for the slightly better writing experience.
Most drawing apps have option for you to save your files out into various file formats which you can then import to Adobe Illustrator. However note that these formats may not be vector. You can export vector files from concepts but the lines and shapes from these vector files may not appear like how you would expect. E.g. You can draw a line with Concepts, but that line is actually a shape (where you cant' apply stroke).

Sluggish is because I'm recording this video at 25FPS. If you're referring to the latency, it's no different from 60Hz tablets. I don't really see the difference with latency when drawing normal speed compared to when I'm drawing on the iPad Pro. I can draw fast, but I don't draw THAT fast.

if all people want is a good tablet to draw on just get the s6 lite because its alot cheaper than this and then the pen seperate, this is only a bit bigger than the s6 lite where you will not really notice. personally for drawing nothing beats a 12.4 inch screen
This is very informative :) I enjoyed the review !
Thank you for the video. It helps a lot!
do you think for about 70 dollars more than the s6 lite is the xiaomi worth it? including pen 400 instead of around 330
also how long do you think it would realistically last in terms of firmware updates and general longevity
Definitely worth it. This Xiaomi tablet is really good for the money.
i just bought a mi pad 5 and i am planning to buy another auth stylus but i am wondering at its price according to you, is it worth the money at 89 usd ?
If you want to draw or write, the Xiaomi stylus is worth it
Hello, in which program do you draw on this tablet?
Concepts, Medibang Paint
@@teohontech7141 thank you ❤️
Can't load Signal Messenger app... ( Compatible with iPad and PC windows) .... Do you know why it s not compatible with this PAD5 ?
Hi, I love your videos. In your opinion, which of the two tablets would be better value for money: xiaomi pad 5 or Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021?
Xiaomi because there is Google Play Store
i dont have an hdmi port- ad my usb is type 2 not the C type- will this tablet even work on it?
Hello Teoh! If you wan't to spend as little money as you can and get a 120 hz with good pen sensitivity and at least a 10-11 inch screen is this the best value?
Is it worth spending 200/300 more do you get THAT much better drawing experience? I mean is it a major difference, are you missing out bigtime then? How is your look at it? I would only use the table now and again on my sparetime and not profesionally, but I have some expectations :).
Thx
Magnus
For casual drawing it’s good. Only downside is the lines don’t taper as smooth and sharp compared to Apple and Samsung pens
I'm thinking to buy this tablet to study, but I'm with doubts in relation to the delay to write, what do you think? I'm comparing with Samsung S7...
Tab S7 is the better tablet. Microsd card, SamsungDex, Second Screen, better processor, more ram, less latency. But it’s also more expensive. If it’s just for taking notes, no need to spend the extra money for the slightly better writing experience.
What application are you using for drawing?
Concepts concepts.app/en/
Hello :)
How do I move my illustrations to my iMac? Will it work with adobe illustrator if I wish to continue my work on my computer?
Most drawing apps have option for you to save your files out into various file formats which you can then import to Adobe Illustrator. However note that these formats may not be vector.
You can export vector files from concepts but the lines and shapes from these vector files may not appear like how you would expect. E.g. You can draw a line with Concepts, but that line is actually a shape (where you cant' apply stroke).
@@teohontech7141 Thank you very much!
Is there a pen has Chinese version and global version? And can I know the name of application that you use for drawing? Thanks before
Thank you for the review, I can now decide between Matepad 11 and Mi Pad 5.
If you want to get for drawing, get Xiaomi because there's Google Play Store.
@@teohontech7141 yeah, planning on getting the Xiaomi. Thanks for the review!
Dont get the matepad! Getting apps is pain in the ass
@@hardrob23 thanks, already got the Pad 5
@@nimbusdub how was your experience with the pad 5?
I owned the first tab by Xiaomi for the last 8 yrs and unfortunately it died but it served me for so long. So i have some loyalty towards Xiaomi over any other brand though 🤗
It's great to hear it lasted so long.
Hello, I have a mi pad 5, if I apply screen protector will it effect the quality of my writing, drawing, making notes etc, with the xiaomi smart pen?
Please advise, whether I should apply the screen protector or not. Thanks in advance.
Screen protector should not affect the pen.
@@teohontech7141 is there any paperlike protector good for this tablet?
@@olivezinha Look for the brand SuperShieldz. The size should be quite similar to Samsung Tab S7/S8. But check the dimensions just to be sure.
Im using mi pad 5 pro version and infinite painter. Its awesomeeee and smoothiesssss
Does it really have 8 speakers? How does the audio sound?
Very good. Do you think it is better than the iPad 9 in illustration and studies?
Apple Pencil has better drawing performance. But the Xiaomi better in many other areas.
Does multitasking in general (like using two apps at the same time, taking notes...) perform well against the iPad?
@@FelipheEspildora two apps are maximum on screen, all it can do is split the screen for 2 apps. and you can slide left or right to adjust the size, or one app fullscreen and one app floating over it which you can move it either left or right.
i am confused whether should i buy xiaomi pad 5 or samsung s6 lite i will use it only for handwriting notes which one do you recommend? is xiaomi pen pressure sensitivity good ?
This Xiaomi is a much better tablet than the S6 Lite
@@teohontech7141 in terms of pen performance like writing ? Is writing on s pen the same as Xiaomi smart pen?
@@ahmedashraf3758 Slightly different but same performance. It's like writing with wooden pencil vs mechanical pencil.
Hi man, i would like to know what is the best tablet (new or used) under 400€
Things important to me: drawing and designing with a precision pen
Battery life.
This is the one I recommend with Xiaomi Smart Pen.
did you encounter any issues about the xiaomi pad 5? what's your miui version? thanks.
No issues. Still working fine. Still a great tablet.
@@teohontech7141 how about the pc mode? what's your version btw
@@tanjirokalmado5277 I've not tried PC mode. Mine's global version
this is already sold out in the philippines... id prob get this before dipping into the ipads as I more comfortable drawing on paper. This may help me check if digital something id enjoy or not.
Nice! what about the noris digital with the pad 5? works?
Don't work with Noris Digital (or Samsung S Pen).
you're able to rest your hand on the device while using the stylus pen right?
Yes
Waiting to see changes in xiaomi pad 6
may i ask? I'm using a mipad 5 and a universal stylus pen, why if I write without gloves the screen shifts, is there a setting?

Because there is no palm rejection with universal stylus. Palm rejection is only available with the Xiaomi smart pen
I have been waiting for its launch in India.
yup..
I didn't think I needed this tablet before, but now...... curse this review!
Thanks for the great review
Hello Teoh, thank you, amazing review. I'm looking for an tablet that is good to draw like Ipad Pro, do you have some indication?
Samsung tablets that come with S Pens are good. This Xiaomi is good too
@@teohontech7141 Thank you! The Samsung tabs can have good drawning experience as good as ipad pro?
@@Math2Clash Main difference for me is Apple Pencil has hard tip while Samsung S Pen has rubberised tip. As for variety of drawing apps, you can find many good drawing apps on either platforms.
@@teohontech7141 Very nice, thank you! And, how i can say about the screens?
@@Math2Clash The Xiaomi screen looks very good to me
What are the best drawing apps for the mi pad 5 with pen? Thank you 💜
Which one is better in terms of pen performance, samsung s6 lite or this one?
Samsung, but the S6 Lite will have some lag with overall usage of the tablet
I want to know what app you are using for drawing?
Concepts
🙏 what app u use to draw,is it free?
I use Concepts. Not free but it’s one time payment. For free you can use Krita or Medibang
@@teohontech7141 🙏🙏🙏 thanks alot
Hi Sir, could you recommend me on which tablet is the most affordable & most important the best that suits for my 10yrs old child whom loves Art. She seems to be intrested in this digital drawing currently. TIA
Maybe Samsung Tab S6 Lite or this Xiaomi tablet.
Pls reply me.
Should I worry for not knowing stylus's battery life.
It doesn't show after using twice.
I don't know it is charging or not.
When it's connected with magnet.
Unfortunately there's no battery indicator for the pen. So it's best to keep the pen attached at all times.
@@teohontech7141 Thank you for your advice.
May I know what are the drawing apps you using there? Thanks.

Hi, is it worth waiting for the global edition of pad 5 pro?. I am planning to use it for taking notes on one note and pdf.
Does the lack of fingerprint reader and USB 2.0 port affect ur way u use ur pad 5 tablet?
For taking notes, there is no need to spend extra money to get the Pro model. Face unlock works fine. I don’t use the USB port that often
Who is better ? S6, s6 lite or mipad5?
Right now mipad5
Another great review 👍 Can you use an alternative pen/stylus on this tablet?
Only the Xiaomi Smart Pen is supported
Real Talk: Overall Xiaomi MiPad 5 pro is more powerful. it can be used for both work and gaming (samsung is just for multi task only yet overpriced mid spec)
Screen is great in mipad 5 pro, ram, powerful gpu, clean UI, PC mode support, no bloatware, not overpriced, huge battery capacity, capable of running heavy games such as genshin impact, PS2 emulator, citra 3ds, egg nintendo switch, ps3 emu (while youtube and chrome running at background)
Do you think it's better than the s7 Fe? Because there's a sale and the Xiaomi is way cheaper
This Xiaomi tablet is more value for money simply because it's much cheaper
What do you think about CSP performance on this device? 1-10 scale.
It’s the same performance as desktop version. Only difference is pen has more difficulty tapering strokes. So maybe 8/10
Yeah, Xiaomi is *very* aggressive with RAM management even in their phones.
Aggressive in a good or bad way? LOL
@@shyhrk Wasn't able to find the settings. Anyway, it's a really minor issue that doesn't affect me negatively in anyway thankfully.
@@teohontech7141 I see. The lock thingy is on the recent app menu where you hold the app and it will show options including a padlock icon that can prevent it from being closed unless run out of RAM.
In the settings should be something like “Battery Management” or some sort, for me with my xiaomi phone it’s under Battery and Performance , then Battery tab, and then “App battery saver”. When I choose an app it will show options to set: no battery restrictions, battery saver, restrict background apps, and restrict background activity. it can be different because I’m on miui 11, but it’s a good thing to know when you find app kept getting closed etc when you need the app to always run even in background.
@@shyhrk Thanks. I found the settings. I'm just gonna leave that as default. The app reloads don't affect me.
what do u mean,
??
Can you suggest an active stylus pen for mi pad 5 with palm rejection? My smart pen is broken. I try some other stylus pen for Android but its very ugly because palm rejection is not working and wrong drawing point.
Pens with palm rejection usually is made by same company that makes the tablet
@@teohontech7141 sure but its really hard for me to order a Xiaomi smart pen so im looking for an alternative option. Or a pen that help me drawing correctly.
@@Nguyen-ig1md Check out AliExpress. I bought my pen there
That jitter (albeit slight compared to most other stylus enabled displays except Samsung and Apple) is a deal breaker for me
Wow your demonstration makes it look a tad bit sluggish but at this price point cannot really expect much. Does Netflix and Disney+ run on Full HD (1080p) or 4K?
Sluggish is because I'm recording this video at 25FPS. If you're referring to the latency, it's no different from 60Hz tablets. I don't really see the difference with latency when drawing normal speed compared to when I'm drawing on the iPad Pro. I can draw fast, but I don't draw THAT fast.
I find it odd that Xiaomi has phones that have SD card slots. Tablets should have that feature also considering that people tend to look at them as a half-step between entertainment and productivity.
living in an old era? dude there's OTG compact storage now 😆
@@LazypunK07 True. No need to ridicule. I use OTG also.
What I'm saying is that I treat the micro SD card as a second internal storage drive. Besides, I intend to hold the tablet, not treat it as a laptop. Holding the tab while a flash drive is sticking out isn't ideal for me in many cases.
@@mistermastermind528 i thought you're using your brain. there's so many free cloud storage that offers 100gb 😆
@@LazypunK07 uh-huh. Before you know it you're gonna talk about external SSDs and HDDs. Yep2x.
@@LazypunK07 Dude have you even used a phone with a USB sticking out of a device? It's super awkward and the risk that it will damage the USB C slot is just not practical. Saying someone is living in an old era because of wanting an SD card slot is way better than someone who prefers using an OTG on a device, it's plain stupid.
