I use what they call a puffer it's used to clean camera lenses the better ones have a filter built in to filter the air when exiting the nozzle. a few zaps with the anti-static gun and you're good to go.
Happy Thanksgiving Bob. I don't know what you use to clean your records. I don't know if you will get this in time, but there is an Ultrasonic Record Cleaner by a company called Vevor on their website that is $189.99. The sale ends in a day and I just might buy a second machine, it's that good. Check it out if you get the chance. I didn't know Ultrasonic Record Cleaners had come down this low in price as I looked at an Audio Desk and Degritter. I have two original copies of Alice Coltrane's Ptah the El Daoud and I have gotten them close to the way I wanted, but there were still crackles that I thought that I had to settle for. Well, I cleaned one of them and it sounds almost mint. The other I will be cleaning it later today. I have two vacuum record cleaners, the VPI 16.5 and the Project VCS, but the Ultrasonic blows them away by themselves and together they make a deadly combination, Ultrasonic, and Vacuum cleaning. It is truly a game-changer unless the record is damaged.
I am waiting for my copy of RSD WAR LP to be delivered. Looking forward to listening to it. Also, I was told by a boutique cartridge manufacturer whose cartridges I use not to use liquid stylus cleaners as the liquid creeps up the cantilever by capillary action in to the cartridge body where it can cause havoc with the suspension and coils/wiring over time (I was guilty of this and he noted this had happened to my cartridge when I sent it in to be re-tipped). I now do very occasionally but very carefully use a small amount of stylus cleaner (LAST) and ensure the liquid is absorbed into the bristles of my Audio Technica electronic stylus cleaner (similar to the Hudson) before cleaning the stylus by running it for a few seconds first. I now never place the stylus on to fluid sitting on top of the brush!!
I just picked up a copy of war's greatest hits but not the record store Day... I paid $15 for mine at the Walmart Black Friday sale thing they're having. Have not listened to it I'm too tired to get up and check to see if it's the Kevin gray one or not..LoL I highly doubt that it's not. Great video my friend
I use the brush that came with my 2m black cartridge and another brush with longer bristles. Occasionally dampening them with distilled water. Keeps everything looking new. I quit using my zero dust, do not want anything sticky touching the diamond tip. Compressed air and milty zerostat for removing dust. I clean my records with okki n o k k i record vacuum machine using t e r g i t o l that I have mixed up myself. Thoroughly rinse. After that I have never had crud build up on my stylus after cleaning used vinyl. Tried disc Dr Miracle cleaning fluid, L art du Sol, okki Noki, record RX and maybe a few others before I decided to make my own using two different types of t e r g i t o l. Extremely dirty albums get washed under the sink with Dawn dish detergent before going to the record vacuum machine. I quit using anti-static brushes because it was leaving my stylus tip dirty.
Thanks so much Bob for showing that stylus cleaner. How did I not know about it after all these years? I currently use zerodust and the controversy aside, it's not bad but I have seen gunk such as tiny fibers stuck to my stylus even after multiple encounters with zerodust. So while I think it picks up surface gunk ok, it most certainly does not do a thorough job. I will definitely be getting that hudson cleaner. Cheers my friend.
UV is a gimmick here. Ultraviolet light is a disinfectant because it mutates or cleaves the DNA of bacteria or viruses, killing or disabling them. (Most commonly causes adjacent T-T bond mutations). This happens at the molecular level, on the base pairs, very very tiny. UV doesn’t actually clean anything. It certainly wouldn’t affect the dust & dirt particles that are orders of magnitude larger than a DNA base unit. It would be like trying to move the sun with a fly swatter, that’s the difference in size between DNA base pairs and a dust particle on your stylus. Unless you are planning on taking your stylus off your tone arm and using it to perform microsurgery, it wont matter if the random bacteria or virus particles are alive or dead, as neither will affect your music either way. The only thing at work here removing dirt is the solvent and physically moving the stylus tip in and out of the sponge. Bet you can find a cheaper version without the led, which appears to be just a regular white led, btw.
Well yeah, it’s mostly the shaking that does the work.. the light is most likely just a light … the thing works it’s 30 bucks.. be hard pressed to get something cheaper. Cheers
Wasn’t familiar with that Hudson hifi stylus cleaner but am certainly interested! As a primarily used record buyer I’m all too familiar with having a gunky stylus. Sorry to hear about the Bob album…personally, I would consider it a lost cause and just grab another copy, but that’s just me. Thanks Bob, cheers!
HA! My standard flattening time is 6 HOURS! I’ve never had any issues whatsoever. The only warp I can’t get rid of is a severe edge warp. No orange peel issues on the vinyl or anything like that. If you are planning to replace it anyway….I’d try it for at LEAST 4 hours. I think the heating elements in these things are just a bit all over the place. Good luck man. Love your channel. 👍
I just keep increasing the time over here on this Marley it’s starting to flatten out.. I’m trying to not melt it… I’ve had success in the past. The different brands used by the labels really matters turns out.
I keep going longer and longer, last time was two hours… Ill keep going I suppose.. I think it’s got a edge warp combined with a large wave ..it’s being a real turd. Cheers
Ha. The ol Barlow knife. Have that same one haha.
Great vid as always.
Thanks Jason, Barlow is a classic! Cheers
This is the best home improvement stereo record show on the tube ✌🏻

Great PSA. Love all the items. I thought I was the only one who carried a pocket knife. :).
Gotta have a good pocket knife! Cheers my friend!
Cool man. I always enjoy your videos Bob!
Thanks jay, cheers!
I still use the discwasher I bought more than 40 years ago. I have a newer one but didn't need to open it. The fabric fibers are very durable.
Cheers to that!
I’ve been pretty happy with the Hudson stylus cleaner. Works great.
Agreed! Cheers

I’m getting another, but will keep trying to get this flat just for learning purposes. Vinyl luck Trent!
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL Not a bad idea at all! I wish you luck with it!
Hi Bob, I was wondering how often you feel you need to use the Hudson Uv Stylus cleaner? Thanks
I just keep my eye on the stylus and if i hear any BS, I start investigating right away. cheers
War RSD is an audiophile sleeper, sah good!
Facts!
I guess I gotta get that uv stylus cleaner. And thank you for the great videos!
Thanks Mario, much appreciated!
That stylus cleaner looks like a winner.
Hey Richard, it’s pretty good and easy on the wallet :)
How long are you running it in the VinylFlat? I’ve had one for years, and I’m sure it could take care of that warp pretty easily.
Well I went two times at 90minutes and the third time at just over two hours … 😬
HA! My standard flattening time is 6 HOURS! I’ve never had any issues whatsoever. The only warp I can’t get rid of is a severe edge warp. No orange peel issues on the vinyl or anything like that. I’m gonna keep increasing until I get it JC, Thanks for the encouragement, cheers!
FX!!
I've yet to have any success with my vinyl flat. Anyone else have any? If so, what was your method?
I just keep increasing the time over here on this Marley it’s starting to flatten out.. I’m trying to not melt it… I’ve had success in the past. The different brands used by the labels really matters turns out.
You're not leaving the Marley lp in the Vinyl Flat long enough. 2 hrs on high, let it cool for 24 hrs. Repeat.
I keep going longer and longer, last time was two hours… Ill keep going I suppose.. I think it’s got a edge warp combined with a large wave ..it’s being a real turd. Cheers
My stylus cleaner is a small piece of magic eraser pushed onto a toothpick.
My reamer is a pencil ✏️
Yeah I’m a magic eraser user as well, :) cheers my friend
