QUEEN! I literally just found your channel recently and I was in tears. I ordered 3 breeds of chicks and all died in my hands due to stressful shipping and heatwave in AZ. I'm 40+ and I cried like a baby. You have helped me cope, do better, be better, and do my due diligence in my learning of the chicks. Today I have replacements coming in, I will never forget the 1st batches though. You have helped me be sane and have hope. Cause, I was ready to give up girl. I am staying tuned into you because you literally gave me life again. #Thankyouforyourservice and #Keepupthegreatwork

I know what you mean. It’s so hard to see chicks with pasty butt when it’s so easy to treat! I definitely think feeding a good feed like Scratch and Peck helps, but for farm stores they can also feed chick scratch and that will help. Maybe you can suggest that to them! ❤️🐔❤️🐥❤️ Thank you for watching. Can’t wait to see the new babies when they arrive!

Good information Dalia! We could have used this years ago. When we got our chickens it was through the mail. Most of them did well, but there was one that was weaker. We tried doing everything we could to get that one to eat and drink. It did a little, but not very much and then it ended up not making it. The shipping probably stressed them out.😟

I have just seen this so this is a late comment.
Last fall I ordered 15 baby chicks, different breeds. They shipped on a Monday. Post office called Thursday morning. We went immediately and opened the box to find 4 dead. 25 minutes later 2 more died.
I've had baby chicks before and until this day had never lost a chick. By Saturday 11 chicks were dead.
I had my emergency kit ready, my brooder was ready and warmed from the night before arrival. I called the hatchery and they even said I had done everything I was suppose to do. Trying to feed 15 dying chicks by hand with a syringe.
    It was a horrible experience.
I believe they died of both these problems. They got chilled in shipment and starve out. 4 days shipping is just to long. It's to risky. I will never forget it. Out of the four that made it one just never recovered. At 16 weeks despite all my efforts she passed in my arms this weekend.
The hatchery offered to resend more chicks or a refund. I took the refund because they deliver in 4 days and we were in October.
Mine were dying when they finally got to Post Office.
Madam President you do a great job and I really appreciate your work.
    Thanks,
    Susan

We got our first chicks earlier than we were planning on it BECAUSE we were in the feed store and I good see that these babes had pasty butt and I knew I could help before they deteriorated more. So we brought home our starlight green eggers and they got a spa day and we noticed that following that fluff and buff treatment one of the chicks who was the spunkiest (peck any hand that entered the brooder and aptly named "Spicy" Chicken) became much more relaxed, easy going and the angry pecking stopped...and I'm considering a new name for her as her 'tude' is no longer 🔥🥵... I'm glad our girl feels better and is seeing the world as a happier place now. May have to name her Honey 🍯 because she sure is sweet now❤️❤️

Hello! Love your videos. You are so helpful, especially for first time chicken parents. I have one question about something strange that happened to one baby chicks yesterday evening. In the evenings we take our baby chicks and baby ducks out and put them in a little makeshift pen. They get to know each other and we clean the duck bedding everyday while they play. Yesterday they all were totally fine. We got them in their clean boxes inside the garage and a terrible storm came in. We moved them inside because we had to move our car in the garage because of the hail. The winds were 80mph. One of the chicks started plucking out her feathers and she looked wet. She was staggering as though she was drunk. I immediately took her out and held her for about 20 minutes. I then moved her to her own box. Have you ever had a chick do these things? Can chicks have storm anxiety?
