Hi everyone! I know a lot of people have found this video - and many others I've made - incredibly useful. I have some donation links below but I recently opened a Buy Me a Coffee page here, so if you're feeling the love, whether you are a musician or a dev, I'd really appreciate it if you could make a donation - no sign up required. Donations make a huge difference to how feasible it is for me to keep this channel going. Big thanks! ❤ buymeacoffee.com/953211370u
    Original posts below:
Edit: Polyphase is now more stable than it was at the time of making this video. Also - it now has Ableton link and syncs with hosts like AUM straight out of the box. This is a HUGE improvement, I’m so happy that Markus added that finally.
The winners have now already been randomly picked, the names are below, and they have been notified. Congrats! 🎉 🎉 🎉 :
    Spidericemidas
    Nitsuanate
    Scott Hutchinson
    Gerald Adamson

    Original message below:
I have 5 copies of the wonderful Polyphase to give away, only available to subscribers to the channel. Winners will be announced two days from release by reply to your comment below. To have a chance to win, simply a) give this vid a thumbs up, thanks! b) subscribe and click the bell that pops up after you press subscribe if you haven't already and c) write a comment, any comment, below. Good luck everyone. If you are watching this after the event, make sure you subscribe so you don't miss out on future vids. I usually have free copies of apps to give away. 🤞Don’t forget you can follow me on Twitter at @gavinski_s. Also, if you enjoy the channel and would like to show your appreciation, my PalPal is
paypal.me/GavinskisTutorials, any donations are greatly appreciated, making these videos involves a lot, and I mean a lot, of work. 👍
By the way - don’t forget you can route the 4 tracks of Polyphase to different instruments by selecting individual channels in your host. An earlier take of this video showed exactly how to do that, but I overlooked it in the final take. And definitely don’t forget about the midi CC lanes for modulating Polyphase itself or other apps in your host / DAW. This is probably something that many owners of the app are not using, and I demo a basic application of that in the concluding section of the video (See TimeStamps).

Happy viewing, and welcome to the channel!

As an owner of many hardware synths, apps like Polyphase and Fugue are just a pure joy to create generative ambient pieces. I'll just let my DAW run and record the audio from each....after a good ten minutes I'll stop and then listen back finding sections where the harmonics are just insanely beautiful. The next step is to cut up the sections and create beds which then become foundations for full tracks.
ps I run my synths through FX pedals and will tweak them as I'm recording. My two faves; Chase Bliss Thermae and Empress Echosystem.

I love midi generative or semi generative apps. Just another way to spark creation, or add to something you already have going, or even come up with a whole track. Then you can apply CC or more midi fx after an app like this to transpose, as you did, or do all kinds of Different things, to change it up. This is an app I’ve always wanted but never sprung for... thanks for another great video @Gavinski’s Tutorials

Tips to recall presets with session.
Use Audiobus then add polyphase and send it to AUM.
Then you have presets recall for all IAA apps and nice clocking with Audiobus than sending clock from AUM to Polyphase plus you have Audiobus remote for better navigating between apps. 🤘

Cheers! He's a good dev, he does care, he just wasn't that aware of the problem til I highlighted it, he is working on it.

Thank you for making a video about this app, it's very informative, answers a lot of questions I had. Already own Riffer, but I think Polyphase might serve me better. I'm also a sucker for good synth sounds and this "basic" built-in synth is to really my taste.

Yes, I also think the synth here sounds really super super good

This has been on my list since it first appeared..
I believe this video is exactly what this app needed.. thorough + detailed description + instruction to get people’s attention.. What can I do with this? You’ve answered that.. big thanks for shining some light on this.. 👏
I agree with guiding the machines.. I believe it still takes a musical mind to really get these generative apps to shine.. arranging + orchestrating the notes + sounds into a composition that catches your ear takes a certain amount of skill OR some crazy type of luck where things just sound right immediately.. it can + does happen of course.. and as you mentioned, Polyphase is that happy accidents kind of machine.. set some soft rules + let it run.. hit a few randomization options, rinse + repeat.. very few apps have the ability to spit out useful musical phrases all by themselves without tweaking after-the-fact.. Polyphase is quite capable from what you’ve demoed here.. 👍
The changing chord progression feature has caught my attention as well as all the randomization options available.. plenty of tweak-ability..
No question, this app is deep but the best part for me is that you really don’t know what it’s going to spit out until it actually does.. 🤷‍♂️ 😁
I hope the bugs get sorted.. crashing apps are a vibe- killer.. Thanks again for this tutorial.. 🙏

I think it could be the best - now the dev needs to make it stable and squash the bugs. Wonderful wonderful interface and user experience though

Really inspiring app. A generative instrument that is able to send different midi signals makes this an awesome tool and a must in every studio. Great tutorial and demos my friend. Specially like that Philip Glass moment :)

Hi Gavin. I see the full details and time codes etc but not the rules for the draw (unless I am being dense) but as a subscriber to your channel and a big thumbs up for the tutorial, I think that’s all that’s necessary to be added. Great stuff. I love your in depth tutorials. Happy New Year. Cheers. Lee
