Got my first ski recently (a beautiful 1997 GTX), and I'm somewhat new to wrenching. Went here looking exactly for this! Glad to find the channel. Good stuff 👏
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it. This is my second 95 GTX to restore. If you ever have any questions about any of it I’m happy to try and help.
Todd it’s coming before too long. I’ve got some wiring harness stuff in the video bank. Just need to get it edited.Trying to get this Seadoo finished and sold. That’s my Mustang money 😂
I have really enjoyed those skis!! Congrats! They all seem to need some love of some kind, but it’s all pretty simple stuff. Great manuals, great videos, and great forums out there to find what you need.
I just picked one up, no mirrors, did your come with them? mine is Missing the little hood deflector that is held by 3 screws, did you find one online?
The actual hull cleaner would probably remove the color from the stickers. I tried to keep it off the stickers as much as possible. The purple power will take the color off too. Just wash the part with stickers, or do some discrete testing if your using any strong cleaners. Thats my two cents!! Hope it helps.
I'm rebuilding a 94 sp and your videos are bringing alot of inspiration and I've learned a thing or two from watching. Your gonna be be the next vice grip garage
@@lukesmith4939 I watched @AndrewCamarata bring old skis home. He would clean them up, get them running, fix some cosmetic stuff. Then the next thing you know him and his dog were out riding. SO the first ski I bought was a 91 XP. LOL So I watched every video I could find on the 91 or the 587 motor. I found @sebastianbluecrew4320 to have some good stuff as well as being funny, and drinking Fireball. Then I got into a good Facebook group called Seadoo 2 stroke Owners. They run a good group. They told me about seadoomanuals.net and get the service manual for that ski and it tells you everything. It's just fun to fix stuff. Heck Yeah!!
@@lukesmith4939 I can blame @Vicegripgarge for getting me into a car project. Derek is just a good fella. I truly appreciate that complement. Its encouraging. RUclips is a long slow climb. And its a crash course in learning to film, edit, AND actually do the work itself. LOL Good luck with your SP. Let me know how it goes.
@@robertwatson4400 I usually order the Blacktip brand covers from SBT. You just search your ski and year model and they will have a few standard choices, and you can do custom if you like.

Hi Did you also go over the graphics with the hull cleaner?

Look great brother. I need to clean ours up and will definitely try that On and Off cleaner. Holler if you ever make a trip up to Greers Ferry.
I need the front cushion redone like you did on this ski, can I send it to you? I have a 1994 GTX.
just order cover and knock it out. It's not a bad job. Do you live near Memphis?
@@Nine_Finger_Wrenching no I'm in Virginia. You just made it look too easy LoL.
