@@gixxerboy555 true, but the V10 fitted the more aggressive racingstyle of F1. Those engines at 18-19k where insane and powerful at the same time. But i like both sounds❤️😍
How can anybody listen to this and think v6 engines are better? This is an absolute masterpiece of a sound. I could not even imagine hearing it in real life.
That's when they were really screaming. Those things were deafening when they ran down the main straight at Indianapolis. The combination of ultrahigh revs and the sound reverberating off of the pit and main grandstands across from each other was painful without hearing protection. The Toyotas were loud too, but the Hondas really stood out.
@@Scott-kp4io Well, it's said that Honda had the most powerful engine that time producing over 1000 hp. But no proof since teams kept their power a secret that time. Probably only BMW came close since they revved up to over 20k RPM.
I lost my hearing for 3 days after being at a street circuit. Never regret it. F1 v10’s are the best sounding. Same thing happened at a Metallica concert. Also never regret it.
This v10 is the pinnacle of combustion engine sounds. Not only did the engine rev to a high rpm, the engine is able to gain those revs as well as lose those revs at an insane rate as well. A dream build of mine is to slap one of these bad boi into a sleeper street car and pair it with a 6 speed manual.
Pretty sure everyone can tell its a sleeper because of how high it idles. Plus its really really loud too. Though the only problem would be figuring out how to cool the engine when the vehicle is stationary.

@@dankmemer2774 we could be, being able to implement that engine into a road car would be phenomenal. I wish companies can come up with a system that could cool down engines significantly.
@@zekeaffy9647 the closest thing to this on the street is the lexus lfa v10 that screams to 9000 rpm which is high for a road car, but is definitely a far cry from these f1 v10 beasts which can sometimes rev all the way to 20000 rpm. I highly doubt we will see any road implications of these v10 since f1 themselves have long since moved away from this application. Most manufacturers these days are pushing for ev’s and the last v10 in road cars (in the audi r8 and lambo huracan) will be going away very soon as confirmed by vw themselves.
@@dankmemer2774 I agree, from a business standpoint view, implementing an old F1 engine (except newer f1 engines like V6 Turbo Hybrid) in road cars would be difficult. It was about maintenance and reliability of the engine. The Lexus LFA and Porsche Carrera GT engine would fit for commercial use as it is more reliable.
