I have been using it for a week on the a7c and it has been so far my favorite walkaround lens. Pretty much the lightest / most versatile full-frame zoom setup.

I already own the lens and it is currently teamed with a Sony A73iiiA for landscape stuff. I bought the new 6700 to go with my 90mm macro to give me a bit more working distance, that equates to a 135mm equivilant. I am considering buying the new A7Cii to replace the a7iiiA and then they will cover my street and landscape needs. I always carry a longer lens combo, for those times when asking permission would spoil those special moments. The first time I ever went out to do street I observed a mother and her adult daughter sharing a portion of French fries and enjoying a chat. I had a Pan GM5 with a 40 - 175 that could have caught the moment lovely, but I asked for permission, which was refused and the opportunity was lost.
So my future plans are to use the a7Cii and Tamron for the close in stuff and the 6700 and 90mm for those fade into the background opportunities in the future.

For my Fujifilm X-E4 I am using a Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens. I have just started using the lens but I love it.
Many years ago I used a Contax G1 with its 45mm f2.0 lens. That setup was my everyday street camera and lens.
    Now it’s the X-E4 and the Sigma 30mm f1.4.

My favorite street photography prime lens is either a 35mm or 50mm FF equivalent. Favorite zoom lens for street photography must be a 70-200mm f 2.8 because it is so versatile (although it is not really traditional street protography lens [I just love that compression and shallow depth of field around 150-200mm range] ) You are welcome.

  • @walterzannoni

Dear Matti, it is certainly a high-quality combo. However, I think that the photographic market offers the right equipment for every situation. I am an M43 user and I am well aware that for some jobs the FF is superior in iso hold, blur and overall quality. I have no doubts. But when we are talking about street I think smaller sensor formats have may advantage. Firstly discretion, secondly the possibility to have larger apertures while maintaining a good depth of field. Of course these are personal choices, but knowing you for years I think you could partly share my thoughts. Have a fantastic day

Nice video Matti and another proof that thitd party manufacturers can make excellent and interesting lenses. On the street I use either my 14-42mm EZ pancake lens (as I have it always on me) or the 25mm and 45mm f1.8. I have kind of the same experience with zoom lenses but more in a three step. For instance on the 14-42mm lens I use 14, 25 and 42mm. (I use it preset to 25mm).

Maybe time to trade in my Sony 16-35 f4, and also possibly the Batis 25 f2. The Batis is very sharp and met my need (want) of a moderate wide angle when there weren't a lot of options, but I don't use it a lot these days. Each time I think of selling it, I pull back. The Sony also was one of few choices but is heavier than I like to haul around. Much of the time when I am in cities (infrequent these days), I put on the 55mm 1.8 for night use. Daytime I try to use the 85mm 1.8 which I totally love.

Imo it is rather big and intrusive for a 2x zoom even full frame.
Sony E-mount has a very shallow 18.00mm flange to sensor distance which probably preludes it fitting any other mount, the image circle.

Hi! I have this lens, and I have heard that there is vignetting at 20mm with a 67mm nd filter. I'm also worried about there being vignetting if I use a step up ring. What nd filter and/or step up ring do you use with this lens? I was looking at getting the Polar Pro Peter McKinnon filter with mist. Should I get that (if so what size), or should I get a different filter? Thanks!
