Of your recommendations, I was only aware of and use three. Thanks so much Matt for providing such solid additions to my Spanish practice repertoire!

@@matt_brooks-green Absolutely! I’ve stopped following much content focusing on language acquisition, I mostly go directly for getting input in target languages, but I’ve happily subscribed to your channel. Solid content!

I’ve been learning English for 30 years and I am still struggling with listening. I need to convert audio to text in my head before I can understand spoken English. What a damaged brain! I’ll follow your way-comprehensible input- to start over 😂

Huge thumbs-up to Dreaming Spanish, I tell everyone I know that it's the best resource out there. Luisito is also great, glad to see him get a mention for language learners. His video documentary on Chernobyl is my favorite.

RUclips videos, or similar such tactics, are merely the very BEGINNING.
There's absolutely NO substitute whatsoever for learning a foreign language to conversing with native speakers regarding a huge variety of topics. I can guarantee you that the average person on RUclips who claims fluency in a foreign language is the furthest thing from fluent. I was a foreign language teacher, I have a degree in my language, and I lived among common people for months on end speaking my foreign language in a foreign country with totally average people. So yeah ... I know what I'm talking about. I'm sick to death of all of these wanna be linguists who think they know goddamn everything there is to know about learning a foreign language.
I had it from both ends - both the academic world, and also practical, very real experience among native speakers, both educated and non-educated.
And let me tell you ... even the least educated person can teach you something about the language which has never once occurred to you on any occasion.
Any person who loves to immerse himself in languages is NEVER fully emerged until he has immersed himself in both the academic world, and most importantly in the REAL WORLD.

@@matt_brooks-green - Yeah, but I just get damn sick and tired of people on RUclips who pretend they're fluent in Chinese, Spanish, or whichever language who can barely speak the language beyond a second year student. They might have rather perfect pronunciation, which is indeed a rare gift, but their skills hardly extend beyond those of a ten year old kid. I'm betting that 90% of them can barely read the language, let alone write it. I want to encounter people who can speak the language in their sleep, almost like Mel Blanc did, the guy who characterized the voice of Bugs Bunny, when he responded in the hospital in Bugs Bunny's voice while in a coma after a car accident, or some sort of accident.
