Brian Tyree Henry has one of the best ranges I’ve ever seen in any actor. He’s like a chameleon.
That’s the Yale training
I completely agree
He has all the talent in the world and all the signs of an alcoholic/chain smoking. 🚬 🍷
King Kong vs Godzilla and child’s play being 2 of his greatest feats
Not a lot of actors can deliver the subtly that he does
What a pairing for Actors on Actors. Paul Dano is one of the finest actors of his generation, and Brian Tyree Henry is a rising star who will only shine brighter with more great roles. He's made Paper Boi one of the greatest characters in modern TV on "Atlanta."
Couldn’t have phrased it better myself
Two of my favourite actors. Paper Boi x Darius duo is the best on TV.
Also, If Beale Street Could Talk. Great Performance.
This phrasing is a little funny given that Paul Dano is 38 and Brian Tyree Henry is 40
brian tyree henry has quickly become one of my favorite actors, the way he talks about his craft is so intelligent and emotionally grounded. great guy.
Paul deserves more credit for his role in War and Peace. He killledddd it. Aside from that, what a talented pair of actors. Loved Brian’s performance in Causeway
He was so good in War and Peace, idk why more people don't talk about it
Finally someone brought war and peace up. I thought he was outstanding in that
YES
He does! The show was a bit slow for me, but his performance was so captivating and passionate it definitely kept me hooked.
Thank you! Finally! Someone said it
Paul Dano has been underrated for a long f**kin time... It's time he gets his share of spotlight.
I have been admiring Paul Dano for many years. It's great to see him finally got the credit that he deserves with The Batman and now The Fabelmans. He's also a solid filmmaker, I recommend you check out his directorial debut, Wildlife which was absolutely fantastic
Great film. He's a great director, I agree
Wild life was really good
Paul Dano did a movie with Daniel Day-Lewis in which Daniel played one of the most amazing characters in cinema history.... And still Paul went toe to toe with him. That's how amazing Paul Dano is. What a guy
Damn right, one of the greats himself now
The one and only time I have ever seen someone match DDL and in some moments actually out-act him. Incredibly insane I know, but Paul blew me away in There Will Be Blood.
He’s actually done 2 movies with Daniel, ballad of jack and rose. Crazy how by age 23, he had already done 2 films with DDL, more than most actors can say
Also, I want to add they both have such a calming, great presence, nothing fake about them, just two passionate, humble artists! And they are both so articulate. I love this type of actors. Could listen to them talk 24/7!
100%, couldn't agree more!
I agree too 🤗
Glad Paul Dano is finally getting the recognition he deserves after so many years. He's been a great actor from the very beginning!
2 of the best actors working today.
As a fellow actor - I will NEVER forget Paul in Little Miss Sunshine. He was the backbone of that film & it being such a weird film for a young actor to be in. Also obviously that he shared the screen with Daniel Day-Lewis when he was only like 22. Shoutout to Paul ✊️💟
That's definitely a unexpected pair, both are interesting actors
Thanks to Brian and Paul, what a great conversation, i think they actually forgot they were on camera, just speaking from the heart.
Paul Dano is going to be remembered as one of the greatest actors of his generation. The guy only gets better and he delivers performances that are truly art
Brian is seriously delicious man and fantastic actor, I hope he wins some awards soon. Paul has been a staple actor for so long and so many crazy roles too, definitely underrated.
These MEN! The talent, the intellect, the innate star quality. WOW. I’ve been a fan of both of their careers for so long and to see them collaborate in this sense is so surreal.
I think Brian is one of the top tier actors right now. He deserves more recognition and more big roles for sure.
Brian Tyree Henry in Causeway was one of the best performances I've seen this year; please check it out.
Loved this pairing. They both have such a calm, alluring presence. I'm a fan of both and cannot wait to see them in future projects, hopefully together!
Paperboi one of the best TV characters in modern TV history. Henry is so talented
One of the best in one of the most underrated underwatched shows ever
from moorehouse to yale has gotta be one of the most insane culture shifts possible. BTH is a beast of an actor, and seems like an even better person
Paul doesn’t have a bad performance. Guys incredible
Another super random but amazing duo. Two great actors. Paul Dano in There Will Be Blood was outstanding and an elite performance alongside someone the caliber of Daniel Day Lewis
I am such a fan of both these men. Brillant actors.
Paul Dano is an incredible actor. And I loved Brian in Causeaway.
Both amazing actors. Crazy that Dano hasn’t been nominated for an Oscar yet. His performance in There Will Be Blood is insanely good.
Amen. It's a mind-blowing great performance. But the Oscars omitted so many greats in their long history, it's honestly normal. Sad but normal. I can recite at least 30 names /roles of the last 20 years that should have gotten an Oscar nomination but didn't.
@@NaticzkaKaminskaHenryDolphin yeah the Oscar’s are kind of a sham anyway.
Hugh Jackman and Jake gyllenhaalnfor their performance in Prisoners was phenomenal, not giving them an oscar is criminal, even after all those years I'm still pissed off abt it lol
@@mamaemsterano-br9of Prisoners in general deserved a lot more attention when it came out. People didn’t really come around to it until Dennis really blew up as a filmmaker.
@@HotStrange I agree
I never get tired of these Actor on Actor conversations. 😂👏🏼
Both highly underrated actors, that I hope get more recognition in the future
😁23:52 I caught the slight shade "that's what they say", they weren't "the greatest generation" to everyone Paul especially to people who looked like Brian
I love Paul Dano! He is one of the greats! He is effortlessly brilliant, his acting so subtle, nuanced, and real. I first discovered him when I watched There Will be Blood - my absolutely favorite movie (right up there with The Godfather). My absolutely beloved actors: Paul Newman, Daniel Day-Lewis, Christian Bale, and Paul Dano.
I suppose you didn't miss the "Being Flynn" in which he absolutely floored me.
I agree 100%.
I appreciate Paul googling Brian so that he’d have good questions to ask.
Honestly I could listen to these two talk about anything they wanted. I love them.
not only was i just super excited to see these two beautiful guys talk but to hear them talk about their ways and experiences working was soooo cool to experience. two of my favs
Tyree is the man!! Loved you in bullet train 🚃
This was a wonderful interview with two great actors.
Great interview. I felt the respect, the admiration and the interest in each other's work. The fact that the actors prepare for their interview with other actors, that's why we watch actor on actor.
What a great discussion, both actors have shown their amazing range just in 2022!! Certainly two of the best modern actors and amazing to see them discuss this art : ] loved this so much.
I think it was around Joker and Widows that I noticed Bryan Tyree Henry like "oh this is a new actor". Nope, this dude's been killing it on Broadway and on the screen for a long time.
He's so good in Widows!
He’s fantastic in FX’s Atlanta too (TV series), surprised to see he was only Emmy-nominated once for it.
Two outstanding actors. Love Paul Dano and Brian Tyree Henry. Brian highlighted my year in Bullet Train and planning to see the main movie he's in this for by the end of the year. Paul was great in Fablemans even though I didn't exactly like the movie overall.
Lovely energy between these two, a brilliant meeting of minds
Great conversation! Interesting to hear good actors still struggle to shake the traumatic elements of their characters.
did not know I needed this but I’m very happy rn
Such a thoughtful and relaxed interview. They both respect the other actor’s career. Together, they could make a great movie. I’m going to watch Causeway.
These are my two favorite actors so I’m very much looking forward to this
variety is slowly becoming my fav channel? love these duos!
Underrated actors my favourites
I'm so happy about this interview. Two totally different individual but they feels very combortable with each other. I love Paul for a long time, he's just a calm person and they match very well with Brian Tyree Henry! Yeah I wanna see them collaborate together in a movie! Can't wait! 🤗
I can't believe Brian Wilson finally met Paperboi
What a match. Love these guys
Paul is such a brilliant actor i’m so thrilled that he’s getting lots if attention
Brilliantly bad yes, his riddler performance was razzie worthy
@@HunterMagunter you do know he has other movies, right? Prisoners? There Will Be Blood? Little Miss Sunshine? Swiss Army Man? Just because you didn’t like his riddler, that doesn’t mean he’s “brilliantly bad”.
@@zaram1492 Swiss army man is one of the worst movies ever made, definition of pretentious piece of garbage that people don't wanna admit isn't good in the slightest
@@HunterMagunter i’m talking about his performance… you know what? Never mind.
@@zaram1492 his performance isn't good man😂😂the definition of good has fallen so far from what it used to mean its sad
Loved these guys in Batman and Bullet train
Fun having two actors interview one another
WHAT AN INCREDIBLY TALENTED HUMAN BRIAN TYREE HENRY IS!!!(Paul Dano too) I LOVED the character he created in "Bullet Train" and I just watched Beauty & The Beast-30TH Celebration" and WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VOICE!!! AND he created a character thru his songs!! I'm a BIG fan!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!
I'd watch an hour of these guys talking about film and breaking their favorite movies down, you WILL learn from these two pros for sure
LOVED this one!! super awesome!
this was truly an amazing actor on actor
Listening to this in the gym. Oddly keeping me on track. Great pairing.
Paul daño what a great actor he’s a champion that has been overlooked
This was very soothing! 😌
The dynamic duo!
Apparently I live under a rock. Two interesting people I’ve not seen before. Excited to discover new-to-me films! 😊
I recommend There Will be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine, The Batman, and Swiss Army Man for Paul Dano
Very happy with this pairing!
Lovely interview ❤
2 GREATS!!
this was lovely!!!
For me, hearing Henry NOT as Paper Boi is like when you hear interviews with James Gandolfini and his Jersey accent is missing
I admire both of them so much this is The perfect actors on actors pairing
Loving this series
Great actors, great interview
What a beautiful respectful conversation
two great actors - one of Brian Tyree Henry's performances I don't see talked about is in If Beale Street Could Talk, thought he was fantastic
I see this with different types of people. Even a little with me. I work in the tech industry, and I can meet strangers in the same industry and immediately feel a kinship. I see that in comedians from different paths, but they all have that tribal background. I see it in actors pretty viscerally. These guys are different, but cut from the same cloth. I swear it’s pretty cool and amazing. Also, I’m a little intimidated by both Paul and Brian. I’ve seen their work, they are that good.
i love hearing film actors talk about theatre 🎭💜
Two great actors
I would 1000% watch a movie with these two as co-stars. Buddy comedy, period piece epic, IDGAF...make it happen A24, Scott Free, Annapurna or Monkey Paw
2000% agreed!
i’m loving this series❤
This might be my favourite one yet
Paul Dano hands down one of the top actors in work today
PAUL DANO CHANGED MY LIFE I LOVE YOU
Good film, L.I.E. Great cast, and brilliant early performance from Dano.
PAUL DANO MY BELOVED 💜
Actor actors in the building. Very professional giants.
Another top pairing and would love to see these two talented men in a project
Great pairing!
I love seeing Dana in stuff. He always does something interesting with his characters. I'll watch a film if he's in it even if it's a small part.
Awesome series
two greats
What a convo
Paul Dano -playing Brian Wilson -
Love & Mercy 2014 -

❤
LOVE THIS PAIR
brian henry killed it in bullet train, surprised he's american! it's time we get some great actors doing convincing british accents
@Trey Adams idk what u think i am cause I'm american lol so idk if "we" means you're british or not
yh that was not a good British accent lmao …
@@marcelus4848 well sir i don't think any british accent is good
a couple of powerhouse actors!
2 great actors! Been a fan of Dano's since Girl Next Door 😂
Girl Next Door is actually an amazing film.
W🤩W!!! Gr8 pairing! ✨❤️🔥✨Look forward to seeing them work together. ✨THANK 🌷🌻🌹✨🙏🏽💕💞
How did Variety manage to get like every single actor alive and make so many of these Actors on Actors in the last few days. Am I tripping?
I find it really cool that they both worked with Steve McQueen (Dano on 12 Years A Slave, Henry on Widows). One of the best directors around today!
what a match up!
what a great and interesting pairing, hope they can work together one day
Paul Dano is captivating on film but to see him in a play today, would be a dream.
Brilliant!
