My opinion would be- Giyuu's past would be nothing like Iguro's or Muichirou's. We can't just say we're different from others just because we were most affected. Like Shinobu his attitude changed too🖐️ But if we're talking about the difference of him from a few other hashira, it's that he doesn't ask for help and keeps everything on his own. He says they wouldn't understand but of course they would,Shinobu experienced almost just the same as he did. While Iguro and Muichiro experienced worse, but unlike Giyuu they can handle it. Except just that Muichiro got amnesia.
Giyuu was probably too naive to experience them so he started distancing, he didn't want to love anyone anymore because he's afraid he might lose them. He blamed himself for Sabito's death and started thinking that if he had died instead of Sabito, he would be the hashira instead of Giyuu.

I have a theory about why Giyuu is always so distant from them, every time Giyuu let’s himself have friends he loses them, the same thing happened with Tanjiro when he was about to die in the manga, Giyuu was very emotional and crying because he had let Tanjiro in, he let Tanjiro be his friend because he felt Tanjiro was a happy
, kind person with 0 potential of passing away, yet, life likes taking away the things he found important to him.
