The love, satisfaction and pleasure of a job well done transcend cultures, civilizations and eras. It applies equally to shoes, a meal or a camera. This is what your video shows with sincerity and accuracy. Bravo

Wow, what a great video! My camera journey started with Canon, then moved to Fuji, which I absolutely love. Never in a million years did I think I'd own a Leica. But after owning two, I completely understand the hype. Holding my black M4 and M8 is so satisfying. The weight, the look, the craftsmanship-it's all just incredible.
Is Leica the best camera? Absolutely not. But owning one has deepened my appreciation for photography. Despite the cost, it brings me immense joy and inspires me to shoot more. That's all that truly matters. Again Thanks for Sharing

People really miss the point of owning a Leica or someone working towards having one. Thank you so much for watching and appreciate your kind words!

I had broke down and bought a Leica M3 and M4 and both cameras have been CLA’ed and will probably outlast me. There is something pure about the Leica. It gives you everything you need and nothing that you don’t. If I’m shooting 35mm or 50mm then it’s the Leica. If I’m shooting with need for macro or 135mm and buying it’s the Nikon F3 SLR. If I need to shoot landscape it’s the Hasselblad 500 C/M or RB67. Different tools different jobs.

    Great philosophy and well explained!
Btw., my grandfather was a shoemaker here in Germany. Nowadays, I like the built-quality of my Q2, but even more satisfying is the visual quality of the images, I can achieve with it. That's what I enjoy most.

Will never buy a Leica, but I love the leica look. It's not unique, every here and then also other manufacturer design a magic lens as well. But Leica does it pretty consistently.

Hi Edmund, great video and I love your channel! I think why people hate Leica is because the company positioned themselves as a "luxury brand" and their camera's being unattainable by the general photography public. People see Leica owners as snobbish or question "why spend all that money on something which has less features than blah blah camera with blah blah features?". I've been doing photography as a hobbie for many years now (using Fuji cameras) and now in a postition in my life were I was able to save up and buy a Leica MP-240 and Leica M6 back in 2020, in fact your Leica M4 unboxing video some years ago inspired me to buy the M6, thanks :) My experience with Leica M cameras is they're pure photographic tools, Fuji is a great attempt at mimicing that feeling with the X100 and Xpro cameras but they're jammed with menus and features. The feeling and crarftmanship of Leica M camera's (in hand) just feels so right (I'd admit that the Nikon F3 feels the same). I don't baby my cameras too, I bought them to be used and they've travelled the world with me and still they work like they did on day one. I do wish Leica made cameras at a cheaper price to allow photographers to have the same experience at a affordable price point but thats something which will never happen unfortunately.

Really appreciate you support mate and that's cool to know I inspired your purchase. I honestly also think though they're pricey and not for everyone, that is what makes it special because when you have it you know you earned it. Also it's like wanting a classic vintage card and expecting to pay less for it. I don't think people that uses Leicas are snobs but that might be because I have never experienced it.
      Thanks for watching mate!

The best camera is the one that you have with you. I have a M11, M9M or M7 with me always. I would not haul a Fujifilm or Nikon with me the same way as they make me feel like I'm carrying something extra. The Leica is like having a nice watch, i.e. you're not carrying a watch, you have a watch.

Wait, wait. The cobblers child had shoes? Inconceivable! I joke, of course. love handmade shoes; they last.
I feel a renewed appreciation in the world for hand made, or well built things, that last and can be repaired. It's a great thing.
A few years ago I purchased a Leica M4-P with a 35/2 lens. I need to use it more; I'm so used to my SLRs it feels too different.
