    Fantastic. Allen Holdsworth territory here. Middle section especially is a jazz fusion (so overall is not really Neoclassical, just as genre label). The A section is amazing. Buying this track and tab asap.

    Fantastic. Not just technically amazing but great composition. I bought your sweep picking course and have gone through some patterns but I still have a long way to go. I have small hands and stretching can be so frustrating. If I can reach even 10% of your virtuosity, I would be happy.

    • @DanMummSolo
      @DanMummSolo  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much man! That means a lot to me. Obviously, a lot of that comes with practice but, if you're specifically and consistently having trouble with stretching or reaching for playing the style you want to play, you may want to consider looking into a short scale guitar and/or a closer string spacing just to try it out and see if that makes any difference.
      I used to be of the mind that I should be able to play my best on any guitar that comes my way, but I don't think that way anymore. Right tool for the job is my new motto haha. I've found that playing a guitar with the right ergonomics, string spacing, balance, etc. can make all the difference between enjoying challenging myself or being miserable forcing myself to work through discomfort and frustration. It's hard not to get set in certain ways but it's amazing how much needless work you can make for yourself without realizing it.
      For example, I got it into my mind at some point that I liked a certain type of pickups and configuration. Then I've stuck with that for years and years, always spending hours trying to get my tone to sound the way I want it to and having particular difficulty when recording and mixing. I got that Legator 8-String used for this song and the moment I plugged it in, I couldn't believe that the tone was right there. Putting it on the neck pick-up and I was blown away. The Fishman Fluence pick-ups were exactly what I've needed. But I'd "stopped using active pick-ups" years ago, so I never would have tried it otherwise.

    • @RocketManRadio
      @RocketManRadio Год назад +2

      Thank you so much for your reply. I have thought of using a short scale guitar but sometimes I think it is just an excuse that I have. I have seen many young kids on RUclips with smallish hands who have amazing skills. By the way, the more I listen to this song, the better it gets. There are so many technically amazing guitar players out there but most of their songs get quickly boring because they just sound like a showcase for their technical ability. For me, what makes a truly great guitar player is songwriting creativity combined with technical skills. I believe that’s why Joe Satriani has been so successful. First and foremost, he is a great songwriter. And this song has that great melody to captivate the listener while also displaying amazing skills. A beautiful song. Well done.

    Hi Dan it's incredible that you came out with another masterpiece!. I already left a message but I cannot find it today so I'm writing another. Your old catalog is beyond great, and to this day I frequently hear to many of them, but this and Transcience, are different. I remember you told me in detail you changed your composition method, it's paying off. The video is also intriguing and I can tell you put so much work and dedication on it. I always feel that you want to give a deep message with them. Your late compositions make me think a lot, the same happens with Beethoven for example. I cannot stop thinking of what you say with your music. I don't know if it makes sense.
    I just can say it like this, in all these months since Transciense for example, when I felt struggling, I heard it, and I got reminded somehow of what life is about. And yes, I'm still trying to figure out the pinwheel :D.
    This was such a great suprise, especially because you are releasing the track!, as soon as I'm over writing this I'll go and get it to be able to listen to it in flac format. Please Dan, do the same with Transcience of Permanence, youtube audio doesn't make it justice, and you are aware of how much worse is on facebook compression algorithm.
    Thank you so much for this, I want you to know how important your music is to me, and for many others.

      Thank you so much! That means a great deal to me. And I'm glad you decided to leave another since I can't find your other one either (probably one of those comment glitches). That certainly makes sense to me and it's also extremely satisfying for me to hear. Thank you again! :)

      Oh shoot! I didn't see that there was more to your comment. Thank you again, that really is awesome for me to hear! I will definitely release Transience of Permanence with the high quality Flac and the tabs and everything here today or tomorrow. I'm really glad you reminded me of that! I nearly forgot all about it while working on this one. It's crazy because there's very little left for me to do with that and it's just been sitting on my computer. Wow, sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything haha. And thank you so much again!

    Awesome. I loved both the song and the aestethic of the video. There's an extra value here since you did not only everything but also even crafted a guitar. And, watching the complexity of that lovely melody, those 200 hours practicing for sure were real. Congrats for you work!
    Btw, the costumes are super bizarre and the first mask reminds me of a lice comb. Was it any sort of inspiration? lol

    • @DanMummSolo
      @DanMummSolo  11 месяцев назад +1

      I really appreciate that. Thank you! And yeah, in retrospect, it was a bit crazy how much I set out for myself to do for this project haha. Doing my initial sketches, I ended up with that guitar being part of a sketch for that costume and when trying to imagine which actual guitar at my disposal would work instead, I couldn't get anything to give me the same feeling as the guitar in the sketch. So then building a guitar made its way onto the list of things I had to do. And, I can see that now that you point it out but I can't say it was part of the inspiration haha. I used all kinds of experimental avenues to get the feel and aesthetic of all the designs to match what was in my mind, so it's a little difficult to know where any one piece of it came from. Anyway, thank you again!

    this is so amazing! The email taught me that even you, a master, still has troubles and goals they want to reach, so there's really no end point. The grind is forever. Thank you Dan for your courses, all of them are worth it.

    • @DanMummSolo
      @DanMummSolo  Год назад

      Thanks Tury! It's definitely true. With the right interest and motivation, there are surprisingly always new ways to challenge yourself and push the boundaries (or maybe more accurately, there are "No Boundaries" haha). There was a point where that really became clear to me and was simultaneously frustrating and exciting because it also represented the possibilities that hadn't been tapped into yet, just waiting to be explored. But wow, a lot of work goes into it haha. Anyway, thanks again and I'm really glad to hear you've enjoyed/benefited from my courses!
