I was a little disappointed that the raids were clustered in two main areas so it discouraged you from walking around the stadium and sitting around the gyms unlike in Vegas where they were spread abroad. :(

@@mooganify if you chose the Diamond Badge, each use lasts 12 minutes rather then 6. And if you chose the Pearl Badge, each use lasts 20 min rather than 10.

Honestly I’m hoping most of the party play, snap shot quests and other special quests he got aren’t stuck behind a pay wall for the global players. I get the mastery works and I’ll accept that loss but I want some special legendaries during the actual event for free players. Plus I hope the Road to Sinnoh gives the free legendaries for the quest I’ve heard a lot about I don’t want it to be stuck behind a pay wall either. Honestly I think the Road to Sinnoh will be a huge success and will show Niantic hey if you make cool events like this with some sort of free rare events people will pay more for later events but I doubt they’ll do something like that again

I saw you walking by at the event. You were kind enough to take a pic with two kids whose mom approached you. It was a fun event but I walked 7.4 miles that day and was wrecked when I got home. But I’m old enough to be your mama. So I’ll be feeling it for a few days. Lol 😂 One of the first Pokémon I caught was a shiny Spiritomb. You caught some that I didn’t get and I caught some that you didn’t get. Love the LA background!

If you recall you met a kid named Ralph with a white sign looking for you all over the event? Well, funny enough I'm his uncle too and I was away from the group taking pictures with the inflatable Turtwig lol. He came up to me after and told me how happy and excited he was to encounter you at the event and couldn't stop talking about you for the rest of the day lol. I wanna thank you for that and for making his dreams come true this past weekend by meeting you. He and I also enjoy watching your videos too! Keep up the awesome work you doing man! Hopefully, we encounter you again someday in the future.
I haven’t been enjoying PoGo as much lately, but this looks like a lot of fun! I’m looking forward to next weekend now!

Buddy functionality idea / introduction of “bottle caps”:
What if for a certain amount of Km walked with a buddy, the buddied Pokémon were to find a bottle cap where, when applied, would increase or decrease the buddy’s IVs by 1.
For this idea, let’s say the Km needed to “find a bottle cap” were based on the rarity of the Pokémon and would multiply by 1.2x each IV gained.
For example, based on the eggs the Pokémon hatch from, or the level raid needed for the reward encounter, would determine if you needed 20 (tier1), 30 (tier3), 40 (tier4) or 50Km (tier5) walked for a single IV change. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Charmander, they would need to walk 148.832km (round to 149) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Gible, they would need to walk 297.664km (round to 298) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. If a trainer had a 10/15/15 IV Mewtwo, they would need to walk 446.496km (round to 447) with the buddy Pokémon to get to 100% IVs. The same math would be applied to reduce IVs for PVP Pokemon.
In addition to finding bottle caps with your buddy walking, perhaps they could be found in other activities by your buddy. Such as spinning stops/ raids/ gym battling / etc. This would also be EXTREMELY rare.
To avoid problems with caught 100%s, the stat changes could be visibly different than normal stats with the following:
* a notation on the Pokémon screen
* different colored IVs showing a bottle cap was applied
* the CP of these bottle capped Pokémon would be -1 of actual 100%s or PVP IVed caught Pokémon
* the 100% bottle capped would not be searchable with 4* but would have a search just for “bottle capped.”
Pros:
- This would make spoofing or radar services less profitable and encourages more gameplay with the same Pokémon.
- Entices player to “bond” with a single Pokémon for longer and therefore play the game more often to get the coveted 100% dex.
- Allows all types of players to get 100%s while also not flooding the player base with actual 100%s.
Cons:
- All players would have access to the best Pokémon if they walk enough
- The need to catch all Pokémon would be reduced slightly
If you can think of any other pros/cons, reply to this comment so we can share our thoughts about the idea and maybe someone at Niantic will pick it up! Ideas welcomed and I’ll update the post accordingly.

Bruh the Sinnoh GO tour should be worldwide tbh. Think about the people who want to have fun in the GO tour but can’t afford the trip. Think about the kids who play the game but can’t participate because they don’t live in Los Angeles or just have school or they’re not old enough. They’re missing a one in one year event and they can’t even do anything about it. I honestly have a problem with that because I am one of those people. I don’t understand why it can’t be all over the world and you have to pay for a flight or road trip if you don’t already live there.
There is a FREE global event Saturday the 24th and Sunday the 25th. You will still get all the same spawns.

Not gonna lie it was ok but I expected more from this event like merch to be sold ,games and activities it looked pretty dead all the in game stuff was cool but there was so much missed potential like it felt empty I only lasted there for 3 hours and took off to little Tokyo even the shiny odds were better in the city instead of the rose bowl stadium.

i got to hangout in disneyland this past weekend, got a shiny dialga and a shiny palkia, unfortunately had forgotten to grab the la ticket so didnt get roar of time and spacial rend but got the pokemon at least

Happy for your luck Saturday. I friended all day and 9 shiny. (My friend only 6.) Two days of play, 1800 Pokemon and 14 shiny. 😭 I feel like the experiences shouldn’t be that different. Talked to several people with about 30 shinies.
I was there! It was great… but for the first few hours I was there, no shiny luck :( In Vegas it was great, I got so many shinies there, I’m not sure what happened in LA. Even though not many shinies, it was a great experience.
I think it was two hours before my first shiny and only 9 for the day.

This event was absolutely cracked for me, over the 2 days I played i got 142 shinies so i really don't know how Go Fest will beat this. Also congrats on all the shinies Mystic!
Have you ran into any Hisuian Samurrot raids during the event?
My friends and I probably walked around for 5-7 hours over the weekend and the shiny rate must have been dropped because no one got more than 4 shinies
