Hello! I just had to come here and leave a comment. This video is literally the best tutorial I have seen for making the froggy earmuffs. I really appreciate you actually talking us through making these earmuffs and giving us details about the yarn and measurements, it makes it 100x easier to understand and grasp what you’re doing. written pattern
*general body of the hat*
row 1: ch 5, hdc in every stitch(5).
row 2-6: ch1, 2hdc in 1st stitch, hdc in every stitch except the last, 2hdc in last stitch.
make sure to turn your work after every round
row 7-44: ch1, hdc in every stitch (14).
make sure it fits u so don’t do too many/too little rows: the one with one side done should be able to cover your ear while the other side should be able to reach the top of your ear. if u need to adjust the row numbers then go ahead and do so adding more/less as needed
row 45-49: 9:58 dec, hdc in every stitch, dec
---------
*ribbing around the hat*
row 1: ch2, dc in every hole along the side of the general body of the hat. slip stitch into the first stitch to finish the round
row 2: 13:25 ch2, front post back post dc in every stitch. slip stitch into the first stitch to finish the round

keeping doing 14 hdc rows until one end touches the bottom of your ear and the other touches the top of your ear (when you put it over your head), for me this was 42 rows
43. sc2tog, 8 hdc, sc2tog
44. sc2tog, 6 hdc, sc2tog
45. sc2tog, 4 hdc, sc2tog
46. sc2tog, 2 hdc, sc2tog
at the end of this row, ch 2, then dc all around your piece. sl st at end and alternate front post + back post stitches in all your dc
ch 1, turn
36 rows of 4 dc
fasten off
then insert your hook at the other end to do another 36 rows of 4 dc
eyes (make 2)
1. (in black) ch1, 10 dc into mr
2. (in white) ch1, inc in hdc x10
3. (in green) ch1, 20 sc
sl st, ch 1, fasten off

hi!! im a bit confused at 7:50. so i need to put one end under one of my ears, and i want the opposite end of that to touch the top of my ear on the other side of my head?? thats how you measure it ??

I have a question, why are you chaining 1 for turning instead of 2? I've seen some people do it and I'm confused.
I think that when you chain just one the rows are more even than when you chain 2🤔😂
