This is a great jump off point for beginner fit pics. Theres plenty of people who do it wrong but some people also try way too hard and it just turns into fashion photography
Idk if it counts as a tip or not but if you don't get the tilted effect in your picture when taking it, you can always skew the picture to create the same effect when you edit it.

I like the video but I'm into photography (outside of fashion) and I think Jacobs fit pics are poor examples of bad lighting the photos shown use the "poor lighting" with style. Its clearly intentional. you're incorrectly interpreting what the book is saying. the principles and rules behind lighting still stand, but rules can be broken if done correctly and wish style, in photography or in fashion.

It’s like any number of artistic movements that did things “wrong” impressionist was at first an insult after all - you probably could take a great photo doing the opposite of what I described and...I probably don’t know ENOUGH about photography to always be “right”
