    Spectacular review! The Tomahawk is the simply the coolest helicopter in all of GI Joe. I remember getting mine as a kid, saved up my tips from my paper route, went down to the local toy shop. I saw nothing else but the Tomahawk. There was no browsing, no checking out what figures were on the pegs. I knew what I wanted and had just enough to get her. I even created a nose cone decal based off the Hueys that I saw in a show called Tour of Duty about the Vietnam War. She was always the center piece of our play times, and sometimes I let my friends borrow her, nerve racking moments lol. This was an A++ review Gentlemen! Thank you! 😊.......burg.

I remember playing a lot with this vehicle as a child, but I don't think I owned it. Seems like everybody I played w/ had 1 (cousins & friends) so I had all of the joy but none of the worries. It is definitely one of the coolest (Joe) toys ever made. If they ever did a Joe/ Transformers crossover toy line- this would make a powerful Autobot!

    The mighty Tomahawk is my 1A favorite Joe vehicle (with the Dragonfly at 1B -- my '85 birthday present and very 1st Joe toy). I don't recall the first time I saw the Tomahawk in print or on screen, but I do know I knew about it, somehow, and it was intended to be my birthday present in '86. My family and I went to Lionel Playworld to get it, and it wasn't even on the shelf yet. While a store employee went to the stockroom to check of they had a Tomahawk, we waited in the G.I. Joe aisle and my dad asked if I wanted a HAVOC instead. I took one look at that oddity and declined, waiting in anticipation for my true goal. The employee returned, successful, and I had my treasure. We returned home with time to assemble the beautiful brown beast before bedtime, and I awoke the next morning to a truly complete chopper decked out in the all the decals my mom had carefully applied while I was in dreamland. Most of the other vehicles from my childhood collection didn't survive the folly of junior high and high school (and have since been replaced), but I still have my original Tomahawk. It's had a few rotor blade replacements and a new canopy, but otherwise has stayed intact for 35 years. Such a beautiful machine and yet another shining example of why vintage 3.75" o-ring G.I. Joe is hands down the best toy line of all time.

    Another great review! My Tomahawk is currently displayed on the stern of the USS Flagg. I actually don't have the space or the budget for a Flagg, but I borrowed an idea from Steve's collection video. Steve has his Flagg stored in pieces, with the bow and stern acting as display stands for some of the Joe aircraft. So, I have a fully restored bow with a Conquest taking off, an elevator deck w/a custom submersible, and a fully restored stern with a Tomahawk resting on it. A poor man's Flagg for sure, but with some 'sea toy stages' from ToyHax, a couple of Devilfish chasing a couple of Hydro Sleds, and a Night Landing w/Firefly moving in to secretly board the fantail deck, it definitely scratches that USS Flagg 'itch,' especially with that Tomahawk riding high on the stern.

    • @gijoburg
      @gijoburg  3 года назад +1

      Very innovative! Using the Flagg components as diorama pieces. Let’s face it, I think I know more Flagg owners with it boxed up than owners with the space to keep it displayed all year round. Certainly true of me. ~S

    • @gijoburg
      @gijoburg  3 года назад +1

      Very good question! I think copter v copter battles are a bit of an oddity. But the Tomahawk isn’t REALLY equipped to attack air targets. It did plenty of that in the cartoon and comic book, but if you really get into the specs all her weapons lean towards killing ground vehicles (the chin gun and missiles), structures (the bombs) and covering troop deployments and retrievals. The Mamba has four dedicated air-to-air missiles. And two deployable rocket planes for portable fast air support. I fear the Toma doesn’t stand a chance!
