The Act is a seasonal anthology series that tells startling, stranger-than-fiction true crime stories. i definitely FELT the progression of the colors turning darker. i felt more and more sad as the series went on

This is like the ‘pink palace’ house from Coraline. The scenes colors that changes during the series is like the other world in Coraline. Everything seems happy and rainbowy, but the further you discover it, the more Dark it becomes.

Depends on your mom’s personality and behavior toward you.
It’s great, IMO important, and hopefully beneficial to view it with her if she is manipulative and controlling, or worse- mentally sick.

I don't understand why people get mental leaveway and gypsy didn't. Gypsy should have gotten help. Not jail.
I do, had Gypsy done the crime itself she would have been treated otherwise. But she totally manipulated a guy who has a form of mental retardation and autism, and now he's serving longer than her.
Her boyfriend is a life sentence and she is ten years

When I was born I had cancer and I actually was sick, this story of gypsy and her mother it just makes me sick bc Gypsy was never actually sick at all. Just makes me sad as a survivor.

Yes, gypsy didn't even know it was all fake. It's all bc of her mother, her mother is where all the problems came from

She did, eventually.
That is when she should have spoken up to medical professionals, stood up to her mother literally by _standing up_ in front of the numerous MDs, and sought *legal and psychiatric help* for herself.
That established, she, too, _is_ a survivor, of sort.

@@BL3SSed-Bliss well, if you actually did your research, gypsy rose knew she didn’t have a problem with her walking nor sugar but she admits that she truly believed her mother when she said she had leukaemia, epilepsy, anemia etc. And during her long years of abuse she was too afraid of what other people would think of her and her mother being frauds even if she wasn’t aware she wasn’t sick. Her last words when her and her boyfriend were being arrested was her trying to tell the SWAT team she had medical issues and that she needs help. And to put it simple she trusted her mother, her physically abusive mother, what would happen when they got home if she did just stand up?

I would like to write to gypsy and tell her tho she had her mom murdered she was brave enough to finally escape from the prison her mom trapped her in.

I don't think so. This is based on a very true story unlike the handmaids tale which was made up. If anything the handmaids tale is loosely based upon the story of Gypsy Rose.
Rachel Hosey how is Handmaid's Tale based on Gypsy's story at all? It is completely separate and based on a book from the 1980s. Years before gypsy was even born.

Real life gypsy rose is eventually suing for this, because she was not consulted and did not give permission for this to be made.
She won’t win…
There are many cancer survivors and children living with chronic illnesses. Of course this infuriates the families that have children with chronic and life threatening illnesses. Mom orchestrated everything, but they both used up resources that could have been given to people that really needed them. The house for example, how many families have disabled children and can’t make the repairs to make the house accessible to them? We could see that Dee Dee was receiving child support, social security income, and other money people donated to Dee Dee to help Gypsy with illnesses she didn’t have. It makes me mad!! How could it not? I am barely making ends meet with my social security payments because I can’t work, I have really bad Arthritis, and these two are conning everyone and getting money and other benefits for illnesses that aren’t real.
We can't say it is Gypsy's fault tho. She still believed her mother for most of her life, she actually thought she was ill. The only things she knew were fake was the walking and eating, but she was scared of making her mother go to jail, because she still loved her, and she truly thought that she cared about her.

It probably won't come back. There isn't much more to tell. The story has been told. The only new thing to this is that Gypsy recently got engaged through a prison pen pal project.

Because she lied about her daughters condition and how she's not actually sick. She can walk perfectly, she can eat perfectly, all of her pills were actually not needed and were doing her awful. Making her teeth fall out for example, so gross.
