    So I just got mine in the mail ten days ago, haven't had a chance to get out to the range with it yet, the main out of the box issue I have with it is that one of the straps is twisted, so it doesn't sit, or adjust very well, but that doesn't affect the seal. Their customer service team did respond to my email very quickly with instructions on how to fix the strap, but I have to remove the entire strap system from the mask, which so far I have not been able to do.
    I bought this mask rather than the Ops Core mainly because I'm in Canada and I got free shipping and didn't lose a bunch of money on the lousy exchange rate between the Canadian and U.S. dollar.
    The other annoying thing about the TR2 for those who run, or are wanting to run coms the adaptor from O2 Canada is currently only available to military and LEO, I am assuming that is due to demand right now and as production increases and pre-sale orders are filled there should be more stock made available.
    I don't know that this has been marketed as a mask to wear on operation, so for those worried about fighting in it, I believe it's just intended for training, not that training doesn't get intensely physical, or that accidents/falls don't happen in training, but the impression I got from the marketing was that it was more for live fire training scenarios, to protect against conditions in the training area and lead.
    Will add more when I have more.
    Thanks for the video.

      It’s honestly pretty crappy that they advertised the product as having a certain feature set including the ability to run comms but then not even offer the microphone module for sale to the consumer base that was integral to building the company.
      My mask is in storage, but from reviewing the video it appears to remove the harness you have to undo the back Velcro ends and pull the fully out of the slots. Not sure if that helps. Since you’re in Canada, I’m a little surprised they didn’t just send you an RMA to return your mask and correct the issue. Certainly a lot easier than it’d be for me sending it from the USA. 😑

    Does this act as n95 type mask, or for filtering lead and other airborne particles in tactical or work environment?

    Aren't those filters just the 3M 6038 filter?

      I think they’re more generic than 3M. I *believe* the filters are made in Asia (China). 3M has manufacturing in several countries including Canada. I suspect they went with China for cost savings.

    Does this protect against second hand smoking?

    how long would the filter last using it for the gym?

    • @uscmCorps

      That's going to vary depending on the frequency of use, the activities, how much you perspire etc, how much it has to filter. I would ask reddit. Probably get you better answers than here.

    Are you able to get a better cheek weld with the SOTR?

    • @dushooter

      On SOTR mask, Using the helmet/O2 mask connection Quick Disconnect clip will keep lift you off of a rifle a bit from your cheek weld. When using the standalone strap you can get a better cheek weld.

      @@dushooter Hi, are you saying that as a comparison between the TR2 and SOTR or is your response just about the SOTR? I intend to wear the mask (either the TR2 or SOTR) without any helmet or anything like that.

    Which of these masks seal better on your face? While you speak both retain the seal?

    • @uscmCorps
      @uscmCorps  3 года назад

      I feel like the TR2 is more likely to allow a gap at the bottom when speaking. It’s considerably undercut at the bottom. SOTR is better in this regard.

    Does it’s stop tear gas ?

    • @uscmCorps
      @uscmCorps  3 года назад +1

      Possibly. However your eyes aren’t going to be protected. You will need to seal up your eyes from gaseous exposure.

      No, it most certainly doesn't stop anything but particulates.

    I dunno man the SOTR is not made for professional government agency applications ie: Fire, Police and Paramedic, plus obviously the aesthetic design goes to the TR2, the other one is just ugly. As for the nose bridge, anything that hits your nose with that much force of impact is going to cause severe damage whether it’s hard molded or soft molded, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. An impact is an impact.

    250 for 16 dollar plastic crap. It's cheaply made , if I was still kicking in doors in Afghanistan I'd never wear it . No special ops or military personnel would ever wear this junk

    It's just bad design overall.
