It’s criminal you are so under viewed man, you are very talented. I found this channel from your cover of ancient stones, I’ve loved all the content since. Keep it up!
Thank you dude! I used the Line 6 Helix plug-in and just followed Gilmour's signal chain as a guide. The core of his tone on that album is running a compressor hot into a tube driver with low gain, then delays and reverb. I was using two delays; one was a short slap-back delay followed by a longer one and a large hall reverb. Amp (simulator) was a 1958 Fender Tweed: Bass-7, Mids-7, Treble-5. I'd say the best resource is Gilmourish.com for info about gear and his sound over the years, helped me a lot!
As a huge david gilmore fan. Very nice. Great cover. Good sound effects. Curious what your using for gilmore sound. As I always am. Lol. You got a new subscriber. Great fade out.

Sorry for asking so many questions, but what gauge/type of strings do you use? Because they seem to be lax and easily bendable. Or is that just a stratocaster specific trait?
No problem at all man! I think I was using D'Addario 10-46 here but I was tuned down a half step so they would feel a bit lighter. String tension will vary a bit depending on the guitar/setup as well. With a Strat, the number of tremolo springs and the tension of the springs will affect how slinky the strings feel. Less tension on the bridge (if it's floating) will make the strings feel slinkier but you'll have to bend farther to reach the desired pitch to compensate for the string pull on the bridge. If you're just starting out on guitar, I'd recommend using a lighter gauge like 9-42 as they will be easier to bend and easier on your fingers. But it's a good idea to try different brands and gauges over to time to find what works for you personally.
I'm using the Jimi Hendrix Signature Strat here and I'm pretty sure Gilmour used the Black Strat for this tune on the album. If you're interested in recreating Gilmour's guitar tones, I'd highly recommend checking out Gilmourish.com man!
@@kennyrieley Ty. I'm about to get into guitar because I think music theory is interesting, and people like gilmour are able to add human expression to it, unlike with piano. But I already have a digital piano, so now I need a guitar, lol. I'm seeing Stratocasters for like $600 and Fender Stratocasters for way more, hopefully it's worth it.
@@McSpicyYT Nice one man! Oh yeah, I'd say David Gilmour is one of the greatest of all time because of how expressive and personal his playing is. And his less is more approach where every note (and how it's expressed) matters a lot. Theory-wise, you can hear that Gilmour is heavily influenced by the Blues, using the minor pentatonic scale, blues scale, Dorian mode etc. I'd recommend getting into blues guitar because it's "easy to play but hard to feel" so it teaches us how to feel and become more expressive in our playing which is a good foundation to have when playing in style of David Gilmour. When buying a guitar I'd recommend playing a bunch of different guitars if you can to find what works for you before you buy :)
Hi Lena, I don't have the tab for this one as I learned it by ear. There are a couple of tabs on Ultimate Guitar that should help you out though! tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/david-gilmour/and-then-tabs-1768841
@@kennyrieley so you play with electronic? I just move to another country and don't have any guitar and looking for aCoUtic sound fingerstyle guitar, and absolutely don't know what I need, I heard that must be good grand auditorium body, in any way, can you tell how this guitar sound while you at home with no electronics? I hope all solid guitar can't sound bad))) ,
@@malinovskyalexander4767 What you hear in the videos is mostly the acoustic sound of the guitar recorded with a Rode NT1-A condenser mic. There's some low-end DI in the mix as well but it's mostly the mic capture you're hearing with reverb, compression and EQ. The preamp sounds pretty good though, with the SRT mic-modelling that you can blend with the piezo sound if you want to plug in. Acoustically, the guitar sounds great especially having aged about seven years, the sound has really opened up. Laminate guitar bodies (back and sides) tend to sound good straight out the box but solid wood acoustics sound better as they age and the wood dries out; sounding louder, warmer, more resonant etc. - something to keep in mind when looking to buy.
Beautiful and awesome...! The final arpeggio with the acoustic guitar is a gem...
Thank you dude!
The next track that will play in my new video.....

I think GHS give a very Gilmourish sound.
