I'm using more of a David Gilmour signal chain and trying to bridge the tonal gap between the vintage-sounding Hendrix Strat and the smoother, darker and more compressed sound of Gilmour's pickups. You can still hear a lot of guitar overtones which is more of a Hendrix or old school David Gilmour sound which is pretty cool!

Thank you dude! I wish I had used more delay for the 'waving' part at 3:16 to get a bit closer to Gilmour's PULSE tone. I love that he boosted it there to create the swirling sound with the long trails. Yeah his tone was really saturated during this section, with the amp and effects pushing the signal to the edge of feedback. Amazing control and such a cool sound! "A guitar crying" is the perfect way to describe it!

Using a doubler effect as well for that wide chorus-y sound and the Vibe Rotary is to simulate Gilmour's Yamaha RA-200 revolving speaker.

I'm using the Line 6 Helix plugin and pretty much just following Gilmour's signal chain: Compressor - Big Muff - Tube Driver - Hiwatt amp and cab - Vibe Rotary - Delay - Reverb. Using a doubler effect as well for that wide chorus-y sound and the Vibe Rotary is to simulate Gilmour's Yamaha RA-200 revolving speaker. I'd definitely recommend checking out Gilmourish.com if you're looking for info about his gear and sound over the years, helped me a lot! If you don't want to use a lot of pedals, the Big Muff into an amp with a lot of clean headroom, delay and reverb should get you most of the way there!
