"Get out of your little box, Andrew Scheps!" Wow, Steve is fun! Great interview, guys.
Hi from indonesia, steve lilywhite produced one of the most famous band in indonesia (Noah), its amazing sounding song, both of you are my fav. Cheers stay healthy guys
It's pretty obvious why people want Steve in the room when they are making records..! What enthusiasm and insight!
This man is more important than many world leaders. It's really incredible what he achieved.
Great interview!
Love the way Steve trolled us by taking about "MacHead" when Andrew was getting the mouse! That was for DMB fans.
"Steeltown" is an absolute masterpiece that I have been listening to for way too many years. Perfection.
This was a great time! Part 2 would be most appreciated.
Coming Soon !
What a delight... Absolutely enjoyed this... glad to discover Andrew loves XTC!
Great Lorenzo!!
Loved this! Steve is still so enthusiastic... & a very funny guy!
Thanks for another gem Steve and Andrew!
It's just amazing to get to hang with you guys in such an unpretentious atmosphere ...and just be what we are...guys that love to make music.
Have to say that Andrew really has a talent for doing interviews!!
Love everything about this :)

Pleasure Alex!! Thanks so much for watching
I've known Steve for half my life .. this is such a great intimate conversation .. thanks!
Awesome ! Thank Paul
That was great fun! Caught most of it live last night, thanks Steve for staying up past the witching hour in Indonesia!
Really enjoyed your spirit and insights Steve, unique and inspiring. Plenty of listening for me to catch up on. I’ve completed a studio of my own this month here in Glasgow and here we find wisdom.
Thanks for hosting Andrew, what a great idea for lockdown. Cheers
Awesome Robert thanks for watching!!
What a wonderful inspiring interview! I was so pleased to watched it! Thanks to Andrew, Steve and puremix! Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your words Gerald!
He is electric and very much what music ppl used to be like , fun and droll, witty and buoyant ..the reason records he did were so so great.. look forward to the 2nd half .. many thx Andrew and pm
Thanks for watching !
This was superb! He is one of my heroes. Between Peter Gabriel, XTC and U2 - wow. I also loved his huge cacophonous sound on the first two Thompson Twins records back when they were on the independent Hansa label. The band sounded completely different than what they eventually turned into as a trio along with Alex Sadkin and Nile Rodgers - hardly recognizable.
Those are great records!
Thank Steve for staying up that late. It was a very cool show!
Yet another fascinating and inspiring interview! Thank you so much Steve, Andrew and Puremix.
Thank you for watching
The single biggest thing I've taken away from both the Steve and John Leckie interviews are how humble they both are. Very little 'The Big I Am' in either of them. Which is refreshing in a world that seems to be very ego driven in lots of areas and ways in 2020.
Hi Steve, I was the Piranha who gave you a friendly knock on the head - sorry about that; I certainly didn't think you would still be traumatised 40 years later! By the way, we never thought it was your fault that the extra Space Invader noises were added - though it did fuck up the record!
He did some of my top 50 records, The Psychedelic Furs, U2, Smiths, the best Pogue record and more. Wow!
Impressive right?
@@PuremixAudioTutorials Absolutely! Musically I'm still somewhat in the 80's. Postpunk, Wave/Goth, British alternative stuff etc.
@@peterbrandt7911 we have a couple of folks at the HQ into this as well!!! Nice one !!!
@@PuremixAudioTutorials Thanks and great to hear.
He is amazing for 67 seems a lot younger
Some good jazz in that cup lol
"Tape op and producer" 😓😪😥😍😍😉
From where does the morrissey part start ?
Does anyone know the name of the unnamed producer on u2s second album? The one steve refuses to mention but who is amazing as well?
I think he says it in part 2.
Hybrid sound? I think Steve pulled that off with the Killers!!
The "Space Invaders" song was by Player One on WEA Records in Australia
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Invaders_(Player_One_song)
that wasn't the one I produced.... now I need to find out what it was !!!~!
Just found it .... by the Piranhas. ruclips.net/video/VADgO6wwGAE/видео.html
Thanks for the update Steve
@@stevelillywhite585 I was thinking it was Nick Turners "Inner City unit",who I imagined could of been on Virgin. Thanks for a great talk!!! all the best.
@@stevelillywhite585 Hey Steve, I just saw this great interview you had a few years ago with Andrew Scheps, and I think the song was "Space Invader" from The Pretenders first album! Am I right? Thanks for the great insights, gotta listen to you other conversations!
