Ooh I just LOVE you and your Channel ❤️ I get so much inspiration from you. I am from Denmark and have travelled on all the Hebrides outer and inner for 20 yrs. I feel a kind of Scottish in some way. I also have been on your beautiful Arran ❤️ Keep up the good and beautiful work 👍
Cheryl, when you put the batter into the baking pan, for some reason French Madeleine pans came to mind. A long discontinued candy called Orange Sticks was made by the American company, Brach's. It was a dark chocolate covered piece of very firm jellied orange. If I could only duplicate the intensity of the orange, I'd be in heaven.
The Brach's Orange sticks were actually batons of real candied orange peel, in fact here in spain I can still buy the Orange peel sticks and we dip them in chocolate.
@@MrPaulsPantry ....Are you sure? Bec Brach's was no high end candy company by any stretch. Online there are lots of sources for jellied and candied orange products at many price points, but which one tastes like the Brach's is the big question. Can't buy them all without going broke. Oh, well.
I found a box, at a reasonable price ($3.99) at our local Aldi's! Only one box of orange, no respberry, several strawberry. Good luck finding some of these delicious tea cakes!
I'm the baker in my house and I'm always looking for new recipes. I've never had a Jaffa Cake, but it'll be fun making them and trying them out! Thank you for sharing 😊✌❤
Hi Cheryl, I tried these a few years ago, unlike you, I had more chocolate on me than on the cakes. I seemed to have the perfect knack of dropping them into the bowl of chocolate. Well done.
So lovely. I will have to give this a try. I used to be able to get pim's orange but they have stopped selling them in 🇨🇦 and I so love jaffa cakes. Maybe Blighty's a British shop might have them if not i now have a recipe. Thank you once again Cheryl❤
I haven't got a sweet tooth. I hardly eat biscuits. I eat chocolate about 2-3 times a year and I'm very disciplined. BUT I CANNOT go anywhere near Jaffa Cakes! Once I start, I cannot stop. A box of 24 wouldn't last me a hour. Great recipe. But I`d just go out and buy em. What a palaver!
My mom might like them, as she loves the Terry's dark chocolate oranges, but yeah, I'm with you as far as buying Jaffa cakes rather than make them. I look forward to your slow cooker meal, because thanks to you, my slow cooker has seen more action in the last month than it had in the last few years. 😄
Love your honesty in saying “Dinnae bother making these” - I’ve just watched episode 2 of GBBO 2021 when they were asked to make jammy dodgers (cookies with jam & creamy filling) and one contestant said she couldn’t see why anyone would bake them when they’re so cheap!
Yes it easy cheap to buy You make them your self it’s more special you co tool what in them also Looked and I bet tasted lovely good for a special treat someone etc Overall Cheryl very enjoyable x
I'm sure yours tasted fabulous Cheryl last time a bought a pack, the spongy bit was really hard 😝 not nice at all.. So well done you for giving it a go. 👍♥️
These look yummy 😋.. Like you I love the orangy bit... What jaffa cakes do you prefer.?? . Aldi.. Lidl or Mcvities.. I have to say I love the lidl ones.. 😘 Really love your channel xx😊
I saw Mr Malats recipe. Yours like his was very clear and thank you for your interpretation. btw I am sure there were 18 circles of orangy things shown. I have not had a Jaffa Cake in ages, years. I think it is one of those confectionary items like Mars Bars and Wagon Wheels which have diminished in size over the years unless it is because then I was younger and smaller so they seemed bigger. I liked your practical choice though. Five hours making 5 minutes eating??? Thank you.
Great Scottish word... Faff! 😂😂 should maybe interprate for our American friends 😂😂 why don't you call these ones faffa cakes 😂😂 they look delicious looking forward to the next video
@TheRenaissanceman65 honestly??? 🤷🏼🤷🏼 can see how you work with......"a technical group"... Thanks for the defanition and putting me right... Just when I thought Sunday couldn't get any better
Making these at home might be more worthwhile if you make them with flavours that are not available in the shops - eg black current, cherry, blue berry etc.
I was wondering if you Jaffa anymore of those? what what what did I hear??? The next video is going to have MUSHROOMS! I am travelling but I can't wait! I am out of country but will be following hand and foot!
My mind is a bit blown because I've never seen anything like that orange jelly. I'm in the US. Our jello is flavored instant gelatin you eat as a dessert with whipped cream and maybe add fruit. It is also sold premade in cups. Is this the same thing? Yours looks like it was packaged like a candy bar.
Your Jaffa cakes look delicious!! I, too, like the "orangey bits" and the extra makes your cookies especially desirable!! Thank-you!

Thank you so much for doing this type of recipe! Living in the US (New Mexico) I can't just go buy a box. Looks Lovely!

@@karenfries170 Sadly, no Aldi's in New Mexico.
Another great video- not sure if I’d try this one but fun to watch! Love your channel 😊X
As an American jaffa cakes were a revelation! Yum! Thank you for the recipe, I will definitely give it a go!

They look great but I appreciate your integrity when you say that you will buy them in the future 😀
Orly Mayron 😂👍

I'm sure yours tasted fabulous Cheryl last time a bought a pack, the spongy bit was really hard 😝 not nice at all.. So well done you for giving it a go. 👍♥️
@TheRenaissanceman65 well once opened they don't last long in my home. But for them to be hard straight off is a bit off putting. 😂
You made it look easy, but I'm with you I'll be buying them, or actually I won't because I trough them like a pig when I've got them 😂😂😂
Good job I might try these when ive got some chocolate in the house lol
I love cake!
These look yummy 😋.. Like you I love the orangy bit... What jaffa cakes do you prefer.?? . Aldi.. Lidl or Mcvities.. I have to say I love the lidl ones.. 😘 Really love your channel xx😊
Try the Morrisons value ones [in a white box] if you have a Morrisons near you, I think they are the best and I think they are only 35p a box.
@@solatiumz will do.. Thanks

no, they're provably smaller.
They look amazing! I’m sure they taste wonderful as well. I would like to find a bun tin like that to try this recipe. A for effort! 💕
A muffin top tin closely resembles the "bun tin", may even be the same thing!
I wonder if I could substitute Agar for the "jelly" (which I am guessing would be like Jell-O in the US). Would love to try these.
Great Scottish word... Faff! 😂😂 should maybe interprate for our American friends 😂😂 why don't you call these ones faffa cakes 😂😂 they look delicious looking forward to the next video

Fluffy Bunny The orangey 🍊 bit is the best part 😁👍
