      A world famous plastic surgeon in New York told me that now 25% of his patients are men whereas in the past very few men had cosmetic procedures.

      Roy Chefets for me it’s still definitely lots more women but I think that’s for a lot to do with the location of where I work rather than anything else. I’m away from the City of London and in a more residential area so I feel like for this they might go closer to work.

    You've literally taken his face from two different angles. This isn't an accurate before and after at all.
    His face is facing more upwards in the before which will not only distort the contours of his face and canthal tilt of the eye, but also weaken the jaw line.
    Please use accurate before and afters in future.

    Dude. Thank you for existing. Seriously, there is nothing more unfortunate than being on the side of misinformation and pre-conceived notions. Truly understanding individual treatments and their potential when guided by ratio parameters would help keep A LOT of patients from over-compensating when altering areas they’re insecure of. It’s human to dramatizes or maximize the objects of our insecurities in our minds, which in turn causes over-correcting.. and some cases are severe. So, from the many of us you’ve probably saved from ourselves, we thank you. :) Please keep it up.

    The before and after photos should have been taken at the same angle - he's tilted up in the before picture and looking more straight on. That in itself changes the appearance and makes it difficult to judge the effect of the treatment.

    I know this is an older video, and this could be a tender inquiry subject; But would anyone here in the comments feel comfortable answering if they feel it is a strictly Western idea that straight brows are masculine? I ask this as a long-time fan of East Asian media (I'm going to use K-Pop for an example, for people who may be newer to East Asian media), and in the dominant pop cultures of East Asia, a straight brow is used on the majority of hyper-feminine teen idols, and by no means makes them look even minutely masculine. Thin and arched brows in East Asian cultures (as far as I've heard) are generally thought of as making one look older, or dated (as if you were still donning the 1990s brow), and I tend to side with this particular viewpoint. Stepping away from East Asian media, a Western example would be post-1990s runway fashion models. Their brows are generally full and straight. Not arched, and not plucked thin. And these women are, again, usually praised for their beauty and hyper-femininity. Not for their masculine appeal because of having a full straight brow (and yes, I do realize SOME runway models capitalize on things like androgeny, but certainly not all). Just a question! Not meant to insult anyone in any way. Just trying to understand where facial aesthetic experts are pulling this idea from.

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 лет назад +2

      MITCHELL WIGGS GREAT question. There are a small number of hyaluronic acids without lignocaine yes. Preservatives not really, because they are cross linked with BDDE to give the lattice structure- otherwise they wouldn’t hold. Profhilo doesn’t have BDDE but that’s more for skin improvement and you wouldn’t be able to get structural improvement with it, it’s more to give you a glow.

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 лет назад

      Blobfish111 yep and actually that’s exactly the point, not to make someone look especially different to how they start out, we are just trying to enhance what they already have. I know the angles are different- this is one of the first videos ever made so we didn’t really have the angles correct. With all non surgical procedures in my optimism the difference should be slight- it’s not my aim to make someone look completely different.

  • @roychefets2905
    @roychefets2905 6 лет назад

    I don't think its to your advantage to give away too many of your secrets. Not only does it work, but your aesthetic ratio is a great marketing tool. It has just the right mystery about it that it sets you apart. If you have not done so, try to get coverage in some men's magazines like GQ. I used to be a patient of the notorious American dermatologist Frederic Brandt. Sadly he used too many fillers on his own face and looked a bit weird. He was lampooned on tv and killed himself. He had a practice packed with celebrities.

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 лет назад

      Roy Chefets but they would have to be able to actually reproduce the injections too! These ratios are no secret, it’s all available in medical journals. The trick comes in applying to to different peoples faces! I guess it’s the same as hairdressers- lots of people know how to cut hair but there are only a few famous hairdressers!
      So sad what happened to Dr. Brandt. I never met him personally but I heard he was a very sweet and kind man. It must be really hard to have your appearance rather than your technical skill constantly judged like that and I guess everything just got on top of him.
      I do a bit of work with the press over here in the U.K., usually for women’s magazines actually but maybe one day GQ will come knocking!

    Hi I’m a man and I have a very strong nose. It’s kind of wonky as well. So I just wanted to ask. Would using this equation for the rest of my face help to detract from this feature. Or is surgery the only option? Ive experimented with Botox and fillers in the past but never really got the natural look I see in your demonstration. I’d be really interested to know your thoughts. Thanks.

    Love your videos, very informative 😄👍🏻 what are the benefits of using Radiesse in the jaw as a-pose to any other HA filler? Is it just because HA fillers are hydrophilic? I’m asking since I just got this done yesterday 😂

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 лет назад +2

      You get more for your money- they lift more per ml in comparison with a HA and you get more in a syringe also- up to 1.5ml. Also sometimes you need the crispness of Radiesse especially in someone whose jawline needs to look really cut. Its good but the negatives are you can't dissolve it and there is more post procedure swelling, so I only use in areas Im happy will be safe. Hope yours looks good!

    Hello dr Sarah I am a 26 yo guy who looks way younger and this is also because of my face shape.
    It's pretty wide, some people like it but i find it not masculine and really weird, I'd love you to answer my question.
    I am also pretty ouffy on the lower side of my face wich is the thing i hate the most including the width of my cheekbones (alien like, feminine).
    What can I do to improve my look?

    I have no experience with this kinda stuff, but this filler won't last forever, right?
    Like let's say I would get this done and it would look good, then 5 or 10 years from then it would definitely not look like it did after the procedure right? Might even go bad if you leave it for years and years without getting it refilled, right?

    • @DrSarahTonks
      @DrSarahTonks  6 лет назад +18

      Avian98X great question. These products completely degrade in the skin so after 10 years you would be pretty much back to the pre procedure state. They need to be adjusted every year or so to maintain good results, but if someone has it done once and then never again it’s no big deal, the tissue just slowly goes back to how it was before. It’s a good comparison to to say it’s like semi permanent make up which lasts a while, but not at the “optimum” past a certain point. Hope that helps!

      Avian98X the fillers are wonderful and no known side effects. They are naturally absorbed by the body. Many fillers on the market now. So do your homework before jumping in. Some last longer and may seem more expensive upfront but are longer lasting and a better value.

      pumpertube that’s not backed by any evidence or studies done on HA fillers. I’ve had lips done and those initially only last 6 months because your lips move so much but it increases over time. Everywhere else in the face though can last a year easy.

      Eros La thank you so much! I don’t know it can be anything from £450-5000 depending on where a person starts and where they want to end up! Lots of variables there. Average is probably about £1500 but it’s really difficult to say.

      Harold Fields III oh man that’s a tough question!! I don’t know Drs in the States really for this! If you google golden ratio or phi ration or golden proportion then people who have it on their website in your area should pop up! It’s kind of expensive because we used an awful lot of filler- wish the angles were right so I could show you!
