The video shoot for the song SONNE was produced in Potsdam at Babelsberger Filmstudios from the 13th to the 15th of January 2001. It was the first time Jörn Heitmann directed a Rammstein video.
SONNE, the first single from the album MUTTER is released soon thereafter. Beside the original and an instrumental version of the song, the single contains the track ADIOS and two remixes by Clawfinger.

Here are some background information about the song.
The Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Vitali Klitshko wanted a song he could play before the fight as an entrance music. When Rammstein presented the song, his management rejected it as too heavy. Therefore the band had to search for a new motive for the song and decided to use Snow White.

@Half life 3 A lot of Rammstein lyrics have a double meaning in german. As a german i didn`t understand the lyrics until this information. The count 1-10 (until knockout). The "sun" in the hands (they`ll hit you), they`ll dazzle you... and the world counts still to 10. 1 ... here comes the sun. 2. ...

Till Lindemann, the vocalist, has a natural bass voice but reach baritone. That added to his rasppness makes a distinctive voice that you can'y never heard the song, you'll know it's Rammstein.
A nasty Snow White with her masochistic Rammstein dwarfs - this video is awesome. You should check the video of "Deutschland" - it's a masterpiece.

Maybe the most atmospheric song i know by them. Another one that is rougher and just as dark,but still atmospheric is Reise,Reise. My favourite song by them is by far Ich Will,where the crowd actually over the years has been given theyr own chorus lines,as they answer Till calling out to them. Its absolutely amazing! And if you watch the live performance it should have english subtitles in the CC option. But i also love Mein Herz Brennt,just because the bass player Oliver Riedel really gets to shine in that song. HEAVY bass,just the way i like it! You got alot to look forward to with theese guys.

This song was actually a commissioned work for the boxer Wladimir Klitschko as his Hymn (hence the nine count). It was then rejected and so Rammstein used it by themselves.

The band name is pronounced more like Ramm-Shtine. Till does have a pretty distinctive voice, deep and sounding quite menacing.

FANFACT FROM GERMANY:
Rammstein's original idea for a music video for "Sonne - Sun" was the dropping of the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on Hiroshima! In a German interview, Paul Landers said that they originally wanted to denounce the cruelty and inhumanity of the nuclear weapons. The song with the video should be a criticism of all nuclear weapons.
The video was to show the 6 band members as bomber crew of the B29, who in their mission dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and thus released the sunlight. This means the extreme heat and the light of the explosion. The 10 seconds counted is the time from dropping to detonation.
The idea for the video was discarded because the band didn't want to attract attention with the negative press.

Fun Fact - this Song was produced for the Boxer Klitschko for walk in, but He dont liked it. So they had to think about what kind of video would match and that was the produced one 😎
Fun Fact: Rammstein produced the music for a Boxer (probably Vitali Klitschko). Thats why they count to 10 at the begin (Like when someone is down in a Box Fight).
But something went wrong and they had to cancel it. The problem was, that Rammstein already had the Songtext and then they decided to use the main text but make a whole new Music Clip
