Yea. How’d it work out? No wars, great economy, two Nobel prize nominations, Middle East not on fire…not having to buy oil at all (or borrow from National reserve)… Replaced by someone the media hid - so you didn’t know he can’t walk, speak w/out uppers & a script, has a list of reporters to call on (with notecards for answers…) As crazy as orange man is - if you look at what one does - vs what they say…(don’t forget the the extra 5-10 million illegals (no CoVid shots but fired Dr’s Nurses & soldiers who refused)…who cares about fentanyl & immigrants sold into slavery…when you have a former who’ll likely beat you if you don’t jail him…3rd world is here..

Just watched for the first time. Trevor has made people think about a lot of issues without even thinking about it. He brings life's issues to the forefront. His humor is invigorating! I can watch him for hours.

I can see why Trevor was chosen for the Comedian at the Whitehouse Correspondent's dinner. His Comedy is super funny, clean, intelligent, and meticulous.

yes! but at the same time it's to make yourself understood. I've lived 15 years in different countries in west-afrika and quite early you understand that you need to change your accent and vocabulary if you want to make yourself understood. But yeah, those who abuse it ( I think of 'Wallah' = 'in the name of god') are just so cringy and sometimes so impolite...
It also means you speak more than one language , which is more than them anyways. Makes u some sort of a polyglot . Do i see them running to a dictionary now 😆

That really boggled my mind, because we all automatically make that basic assumption.
I didn't get his last point, though - what's do heinous about pronouncing French words in the correct way? That's not really changing your accent, it's just the correct pronunciation in the original language, why shouldn't anyone do that?
An accent is not even a measure of how well you speak another language. I am German and a translator and for some thirty years I have spent most of my life with English texts so I am quite proficient and when I hear someone speaking English with a very pronounced German accent, still my instinctive reaction is to think that that person can only have some basic knowledge of English. Which of course is nonsense. I have met people with such an extreme accent but who otherwise spoke English basically as their mother tongue. So I guess the lesson is: Listen to what people say, not how they say it.

I'm American and I love The Daily Show, I've watched it since I was young. I was excited to see a brother take over. Though in the beginning(he replaced a legend) I was skeptical of Trevor but I tune in all the time now. I love seeing him home the most.
Trevor comes off as not just comical, but observant, intelligent, insightful, smart and educational. He uses comedy to educate and preach against moral injustices in society today, but in such a refreshing manner that it doesn't feel offensive. He's authentic 👌👌💯💯

He’s a polyglot, so his brain probably narrates life in a mishmash of languages and accents, but when he’s performing for English-only audiences he has to translate *everything* into English on the fly. But when he’s in South Africa he gets to slip in and out of whatever dialect or idiom or impression he wants and trust that the similarly polyglot audience will be able to follow along.

Started out just watching the first clip after a game of RUclips roulette and landing on this video. An hour and a half later and I've watched the whole thing, despite the ads which would normally make me move on. Trevor Noah is comedy gold. He has such relatable material that resonates across all cultures. I enjoy his global political comedy bits with a true yet funny reflection of the world at large, along with his closer to home family and community topics. This dude delivers the laughs. Would love to see him live in the UK if I get the chance. ✌️
That bit about his mother being shot and what he went through at the hospital is the funniest I have ever seen Trevor. Crazy how he made that funny.

First joke I heard him tell was learning German to please his dad and sounding like hitler when he was ordering food in a cafe. That was a master class, from a British perspective. My second favourite joke, I wish he extended that one a bit, a Chinese man explaining good credit in America to buy goods, that was another master class,
Some comedians are hilarious, but after you watch them, you feel kind of grubby. Or a bit depressed. This comedian is hilarious, but afterwards, you feel lighter.

I would say all the best comedians use the hardest parts of their lives as inspiration. It's a form of speech therapy! It's because they can write about their own tragedies we trust them to guide us through the worlds tragedies too. Which helps the listeners heal. :)

Trevor, you have no idea how much fun it's been for me to introduce your comedy to my family! Today, I showed this to my 78 year old mom. At first she was angry that you could make jokes about when your mom was shot. She thought that your mime of getting the phone call from your brother was you getting the actual, this-is-happening-now phone call! My mom: "How can he just stand there making jokes when his mom was just shot?! What kind of a son does that?! Why is he still standing there?! GET OFF THE STAGE AND GO TO YOUR MOTHER!"
One of the best things, though, is when my sister comes over (every other day) and asks me, " Can you put on that cute boy with the accent?". You are the second thing she says when she walks through the door, right behind, " Hi, it's me!".
You are a bright light amid the chaos of these times and I love pointing you out to others!

Had my daughter and I laughing outloud! Great show! Wish it could have gone on forever! We missed hearing the last question about his concert in India, as our ‘come get you’ was arranged for 10:00 pm…concert started 20 minutes lat3 and we hadn’t factored in a preliminary comedian first.
