@@syenosis depends on your definition of pretty well. 100k views = around 700-800 USD , so not really that well, especially from a business sense, considering how many people are involved and how many videos are made per day. The sponsorship is clearly the big deal here.

@@InternetDude the Plaid kicks the Taycan Turbo S in virtually every test of performance. You have no idea what you are talking about. Cornering, braking, lateral Ga, lap times around any road course. Not only that but Taycans may have better “build quality” but they are pieces of crap. Inherent battery problems and tons of other problems. Don’t believe me? Try reading the Taycan forums. Let’s see any Taycan get a million miles. Won’t happen.

The Rimac isn’t actually for sale yet. The Model S is actually the fastest production car currently sold for 0-60 mph through the 1/4 mile.

@@essentials1016 you are correct. In the last few days they have finally shipped the first production Nivera. Now it is the fastest production car until the Tesla Roadster is produced.
Kyle you've been such an inspiration to me. I've watched hundreds of hours of your videos, and I'm happy to announce I picked up my Tesla Model 3 LR on June 17. Now I'm planning some Out of Spec trips myself.

SO to Alyssa for pointing out all the build quality issues! I'd totally be a stickler about all of that if I just dropped 135k on any car. (don't think it should just be overlooked because Tesla refuses to fix their shit)
You can combine Ford's Rivian's and Lucid's EV sales together, and Tesla still sold nearly twice the number of Xes/Ses alone in Q1. With nearly a year long waiting times someone else will take your car...
(That seal piece has been like that for a decade. So don't hold your breath for Tesla to fix it)
When you claim not to have a hookup but your R1T gets delivered before your Tesla.

The quality issues seem to be mainly in the American built models. I have a model 3 built in Shanghai and the build quality is brilliant

Pretty sweet! Thanks for all of your videos, I knew nothing about EVs a couple months ago. Now I have ordered both a Tesla model 3 and a Polestar 2, so I will need to decide in the coming months which one I actually want. I know Kyle likes them both, so I don’t think I can screw up too badly.

Congrats on the car! Also, coming from a detailer, you should try "optimum opti-seal" instead of a normal coating, suuuuuper easy to apply and last like 6months and its then again easy to apply. I still love the channel, i've been around for a while now.

Ev's is the way to go especially in California where gas is now $7-8 per gallon. On an average it now cost $80-90 to fill up every time here. Forget about gas prices ever coming down which is history now. Since I drive a tesla now there is no way I am buying any ICE vehicles anymore.

For the couple of minor trim issues you had, Tesla service should be able to take care of those. Just schedule an appointment in the app.

The Tesla service center near me has a detail bay that preps cars. Mine was perfect. No swirls. I took it right to the ppf guy and he put ppf all over it. And I have a black on black

At that price point, the Tesla built quality is simply unaccepptable.
I don't think they really care about the Model S and X anymore. This shows with the botched Model X plaid rollout. All of the effort is spent on the Berlin and Austin factories and advancing the Model Y construction.

Yoke off is probably the best decision. The Yoke is good for when your hands are perfectly at 3 and 9, but it could prove to be a liability in a tense situation.

32:30. “ I heard the X was faster.” Well , you heard wrong. The X has run a 9.8xx qtr mile at 145 and the S Plaid a 9.2 xx qtr mile at 150.
My 2022 S Plaid makes the same glovebox sound when you close it.
Price paid should be part of the review.

I must be in the wrong line of work.....
That dealership looked like a ghost town unlike our's over here in the Orlando, FL area. I took delivery of my MYP last Thursday and that place was a zoo. There were four people including myself taking delivery of our new cars at the same time. And all four of us were complaining about the condition of our brand new cars. Stupid things like really crappy prep work as in pre-delivery washing and whatnot. But we were all complaining about minor issues with our cars as well. My MYP had some sort of sticky residue on the passenger side door paint. The interior had someone's grubby fingerprints. That person must have had a lot of hand lotion on their hands because there were white fingerprint marks all over the place on my black interior. My wheels on my car looked like hell. I was so disappointed how this dealership thought it would be acceptable to deliver someone's $70K in the crappy appearance that mine was. Again, I wasn't the only one that was complaining either.

Kind of surprised Kyle ordered a Model S Plaid after watching the driving videos where he said that he prefers the Taycan GTS. Turns out he drunk ordered one 😂
Because like Kyle said, it's a modern take on a muscle car and muscle cars go straight. They don't really handle. E.g. Mustang, camaro, anything formerly dodge.
As Kyle stated, the Taycan is still likely at least a year away. In the meantime, he can make a bunch of videos on the Plaid and, in a year (with current car prices) he can likely sell it for about the same price he paid for it. Sure, he'll have spent a bit of money on "upgrades" (tires, steering wheel, paint protection, etc.), licensing, insurance, etc.; but he'll likely make the money back (and some profit) on the videos he makes with the Plaid -- and if car availability hasn't improved (it may get worse for EVs as demand for raw materials for batteries is severely out pacing demand) he may actually sell the car for over what he bought it for.

In the last month let’s see… $70,000 E-Tron, $75,000 Rivian, $127,000 Tesla Model S Plaid… So roughly $272,000 in one month. Is Out of Spec really getting that many subscribers and views?
I was thinking the same thing. Resale values are strong so in theory they shouldn’t lose much money if they sell them within a year. Plus a lease can written off as a business expense. But I heard a Plaid lease is around $2k/mo. Add around $900 for the E-Tron and about the same for the Rivian and that’s a ~$4k monthly nut just in car payments.
While not in the last month, let's not forget he also has a quarter of a million dollar RV van parked outside his house....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

why didn't you get the big nice wheels?, don't you have to have those for the big brake kit option and the 200mph OTA upgrade?
I think he mentions he’ll be putting on some Martian Wheels soon. The Tesla factory wheel options tend to be very heavy and not performance oriented. A company like Martian Wheels makes very strong and light options that will work with big brake kits.
Always good to see someone who's really into EVs give the yoke a thumbs down. Everyone assumes that because this is futuristic we have to change everything. Sometimes the old ways are better.
Sometimes, you need to give it time to get use to it before you diss it.
I told my Tesla sales person I am picky and he should pick a Model 3 with excellent fit and finish. No complaints here.
I like those wheels, I would not change them if it was my car.
I like the default wheels too, but might consider the 19" MW03 Martian wheels.
