I downloaded all 3 plugins for the 14 day trial. I put the blue Gullfosss on my stereo buss for my final mix and I was instantly floored by what it did to my mix. I wasted all of 10 mins and bought it immediately. It was my fastest purchase ever and I have tons of gear and plugins from UA and others. Even at only +25 on both Recover and Tame it was instantly noticeable how it cleaned everything up and added instant clarity and depth. Suddenly I could hear all the instruments clearly and the vocals sitting perfectly on a dense mix. It's not cheap but I'm so glad I found this plugin, it's phenomenal. I'm a believer!
I love using this plugin to help guide the 90-95% polish on a mix even before mastering - it's my personal game to make Gullfoss *not* do any work. Providing a high quality version for free to existing users? Wow. Class act. This is how you build a rabid fan base before releasing something new. Looking forward to whatever you create next.
My deepest respect to you SoundTheory. Free to use for 14 days unrestricted. You will be getting my money. Greatest program ever made in my opinion. Thank you!
Thanks for the free upgrade for existing users. I just installed and tried it out. Master takes an already nice sounding plug and makes it even cleaner. Will definitely be in my mastering chain.

Bought Gulfoss last year and two additional versions were added for free since then. THIS is how you earn customer loyalty in the modern age. Fantastic work as always Soundtheory, looking forward to future updates/products from you. 🔥
This is fantastic; I'm finding I still have to have Gullfoss in my master bus when bouncing my mix out for pre-mastering even with some *ahem* *soothing* - I saw one video where the user started with "tame" and then "recover" and I find overall that DOES seem to be the way to go. Thanks for excellent excellent work, Soundtheory team!
I love you guys! Thanks for your continuing enhancements of an already excellent product and the fact that they’re free upgrades to existing customers is just icing on the cake. You put most other audio plug-in companies to shame.
You guys are amazing! This looks awesome. I'd still love to have some kind of EQ-style curve adjustments to be able to fine tune the processing. Currently I have to load multiple instances of Gullfoss and use the cutoffs to create a multi-band setup for more control. However, since the master version uses far more CPU I likely won't be able to use multiple versions of it at the same time. I really hope you guys consider adding something like this as it would make Gullfoss even more powerful.
This is likely the reason why they created the master version, and as they state in the video, don't just carry settings over because they won't work the same. You seem to have missed the point stated in the video which gives a clear indication that these things have been addressed. Cheers
@@UncleBenjs Maybe I was unclear in what I was asking for, so I'll try to explain it better. I want to be able to increase or decrease the amount of processing in different frequency ranges without having to load multiple versions to create my own multi-band setup. An EQ-style curve to be able to increase or decrease the amount of processing at each frequency range would do this. Another example, is Sonible's Smart EQ3 with the "split band" option to split it up into multiple bands. Smart EQ3 only allows two bands, but allowing more bands like 8 or so would also do the trick. Having an option like that to be able to split the processing into multiple bands and adjust how much processing is in each band would allow more control in a single instance, instead of needing to load multiple instances. The master version does not address this as the processing still affects all of the frequencies.
I'm so glad I bought this when it was first released at $99 :) Gullfoss is a plugin I use on almost everything just to kiss it with a little life and movement. I use it much like I do tape emulation, but for different reasons.
The Master version uses way too much CPU resources in Studio One for me to use casually, but I can use it and then export after it if required. It does sound great though and I highly appreciate the free upgrade/update.
Gullfoss is my life saver. Please make it for iOS. Gullfoss is literally the only tool I have that keeps me tethered (though worth it for now). I use StaffPad > Pro-Q for tweaks > Gullfoss for perfection.
I think that's the idea, the only thing that's actually a "mastering" tool truly is a limiter. This is basically for the stereo 2-channel mix bus, yeah
@@theelephantofsurprise8564 that’s not the point if it works or not. My question was if it’s Apple Silicon ready, not Rosetta ready. I’m not buying a plugin that’s not compatible with Apple silicon 14 months after they launched the M1.

So, from my understanding the regular Gullfoss vs the master is the master has a smaller numerical value and uses more cpu power. I’m inferring open master as a different more complex AI, right?
yes but Gullfoss doesn't use AI or any machine learning, instead it's built from first principles. All the extra CPU is a result from a more quality focused tuning of the underlying model.
Speaking from a UX perspective all knobs should have a small increment mode in every plugin, because not all frequencies and milliseconds are created equal, so we need to zoom in on certain cases.
