    Random factoid, Desert Treasure 1 was made by a intern, who got fired for Desert Treasure 1. Originally, instead of a mysterious stranger attacking you with a Dragon dagger(p++) while carrying any of the diamonds, a Fanatical stranger would attack you. He would run up to you with the prayer Retribution turned on, yell “Allahu akbar Zamorak!” then kill himself triggering the Retribution prayer…. Yes you would be attacked by a suicide bomber. I think WGS will be a port of the rs3 version with minimal changes. In so far as OSRS's equivalent quest to RoTM, it will have to differ greatly as Sliske has the horn and Lucien has the Staff + Stone. The Horn has virtually no development in rs3 (it was used to create ape atoll and some eastern sirens), but it could be used to over power Lucien if Sliske can simply control him with the Horn. Alternatively, Sliske could use the horn to control the Dragonkin, forcing them to not kill Lucien.
    I'm interested in what Sliske's plans are when he says "The ritual approaches once more, but things will be different this time. This will be the final Ritual of the Mahjarrat". It is true that Sliske is either aware or unaware of the ritual's true nature. To me, this denotes:
    A, Sliske deems the ritual unnecessary, despite believing it to be a real natural limitation of Mahjarratt. This could mean that sliske plans to kill all the mahjarratt in order to ascend to godhood or something. If this is the case, it would most likely align with a RoTM-type battle between Sliske, Lucien, zaros-aligned, and zamorak-aligned mahjarratt.
    B, Sliske understands the rituals true nature. If this is the case, I suspect there's a link between Sliske, the shadow realm, and Xao Tak. As seen in Lassar undercity, Sliske isn't affected by the shadow realm and even guides you through it. Sliske is also responsible for the spread of corruption in Lassar as he removed the protective barrier from the blackstone totem. Perhaps through Sliske's research on the shadow realm, he came to understand the true nature of Mah's birth. Through serving Xao Tak, Sliske may be attempting to kill Mah, thus ending the ritual.

      @Jimbothegreat53 2 месяца назад

      Bonus meme: in DT2, Sliske says that your quest to open the vault was a test all along and that you will be a "worthy vessel". Whats the test for?
      - In RS3, Sliske has known of the player since the 2nd age.
      (death at sea, kindred sprits)
      - "When I approached the cell I found the human inside lying on a pallet of straw. I noticed that he was not bound, but was in a filthy condition and missing his left leg and right foot. On seeing me he crawled on his belly across the flagstones and pulled himself up using the bars. What he said next was...unusual. I cannot get the words out of my mind, nor the intensity with which he spoke them; 'Do you really think you can save them, ? You can't. The spiral of time leads only to the gaping maw of eternity. And this is Xau-Tak.'"
      - "? Really? Is this the key at last? I must watch and see."
      - question: Is Sliske testing you in DT2 to confirm your role -- "the key" -- in demystifying Xao-Tak?

    • @korshmeezy4974

      @@korshmeezy4974 Right, Sliske says "Do you not see 'our fate'? Over and over, we have 'our ritual'. Over and over, we doom one of 'our kind' to the endless void." -- which implies that he's doing this for the benefit of the mahjarratt as a whole, though it can also be seen as manipulation. But we obviously can't take him at his word so I would guess its in his self-interest.

    • @ApexGale
      @ApexGale Месяц назад

      I'm fully expecting time shenanigans involving Sliske and the Dragonkin. Zorgoth seems to recognize the player character (not Bob, Jagex has confirmed he was referring to the player), even though we'd never met him before. I think we may end up transported through time, and it may be revealed that we are the reason why Lowerniel lost the Stone in the first place (since the Dragonkin are the unwilling guardians of the Stone, it could explain how we crossed paths with Zorgoth).
      I think Sliske manipulated everything to do with the Stone in order to break the ritual and free the Mahjarrat from the sacrifices, so they can be totally free to warmonger without worrying about whether they'll be the next one chosen. I think Jagex intends to make the Mahjarrat the more prevalent group - with Azzanadra being the more modest faction leader and Lucien being the more dangerous one

    I'm pretty certain Elias White is the Mahjarrat Wahisietel since he showed up in RS3 as Ali the Wise, an explorer. The OSRS team seems to be introducing the major Mahjarrat in the lead up to their version of Ritual of the Mahjarrat.
    As for how WGS unfolds, it should focus more on Lucien since each of the Mahjarrat quests seemed to have one to two Mahjarrat at the centre of it. Temple of Ikov didn't really do much for Lucien since he's mostly a background figure you don't even realise is a Mahjarrat.
    Sliske talks about saving the Mahjarrat race and in RS3 there's a big twist in which its revealed the Mahjarrat ritual where they sacrifice one of their own to rejuvenate the rest never needed to be performed, it was a ruse by Seren to keep the Elder God Mah from destroying their home world. Maybe in OSRS it was Zaros who lied to them about the ritual and he found out. That's why he doesn't want Zaros to come back because Zaros would only bring about the extinction of their race.
    It could lead to Sliske working with Xau-Tak since Xau-Tak in RS3 appears to be able to go against even the Elder Gods.

    • @birdenthusiast5421
      @birdenthusiast5421 2 месяца назад

      I think OSRS has already kept with the lore of Seren being the one who tricked the Mahjarrat; there's a line in one of Seren's memoriam crystals (the second one) about it where she says of the Mahjarrat that she "may be able to convince them to sacrifice their energy and return it to [Mah]".

    Perfect timing on this video for me since I only finished dt2 earlier today and seeing as I got the quest cape in rs3 back in the day one thing that was running through my mind was "how many of these characters will turn out to be Mahjarrat, and will Sliske make an appearance", turns out I underestimated him a little. Having finished it I will say that dt2 might be my favorite osrs quest to date.
    All of these reworked rs3 quests have been great though. Sins of the father adapted Branches of Darkmeyer wonderfully and while I prefer the rs3 version, osrs song of the elves was also great.
    There seems to be some very interesting twists to wgs too with Sliske doing his usual shenanigans. And even if we won't see RotM I do hope we will have something happen with the whole ritual as that was such a good scene in rs3 and if deepens the Mahjarrat story considerably. Now obviously big changes will have to happen since for one Jhallan is a completely different character here and the whole thing was leading up to the wold wakes which while being a fantastic quest, the whole world guardian, gods and Sliske plot just ruined the story (in my opinion). Some concepts I hope they bring back though, I always loved the concept of the world gate for instance, but that might just be because it's literally a stargate.
    I've not played rs3 since just prior to Sliske's endgame though so maybe they managed to reel back the story somewhat.

    The thing that OSRS will be different to RS3 is that the quest will play out similarly, but the end-goal will be slightly different.
    In OSRS there's no active plot to bypass Guthix's Edicts (Well the plot exists, but it will be foiled every step of the way)
    Sliske I wager in OSRS is fully loyal to Gielinor - And not holding a twisted bastard of loyalty between the Elder Gods and himself
    I wager the OSRS is working *very* hard to not make Sliske into the Mary Sue the RS3 team made him into.
