      OMAD. This weekend I will fast two days. I feel good being slightly empty. I hope to visit you around your Autumn. Strange to realise that fasting is a very personal thing. You cannot discuss with others because you will be challenged. I have learned it is better to keep your fasting plans private and just get on with it.

    OMAD around 4pm and eat around 1200 calories. Also I fast all day on Saturday. So only eat 6 meals a week. I only eat super dence enriched food. Since it's only one meal I make sure it's high quality, vitamin and mineral enriched. And I love it. I'm never hungry, cognitive improvement, so many benefits

    Thank you for confirming that iF is safe and is highly beneficial to us... even the restriction of calories (healthy food vs counting calories). I would like to share this ... my personal find... menopause has reduced my metabolism. I am happy to say that when I IF (including reducing calorie and eat until satisfied) that my hot flashes are less. I also have reduced weight safely and am more active (5'6" 136lbs 57yo female). I want to thank you so much for providing exceptional awesome support. I so appreciate everything you have shared in the medical field. 👍

    57yo male.
    What: (1) Long term fasts (8+ days, done 2 wks once) 3x/year the last 4 yrs. (2) Opportunistic intermittent fasting (16h fast maybe 2x/week) for the last maybe 10 yrs. Sometimes carb restriction, usually just before and a little while after long fasts, when it's easiest. For the rest of my life I'm a guiltless glutton :)
    Why: (1) to help trigger virtuous cycles. After a long time fast exercise is easier because of the temporary loss of weight, healthy diet is easier because everything tastes better, so I feel that the fast has a "positive shadow" of about 3 months. (2) because it's easy and gives me more control on my schedule.

      According to the fasting method of our founder Dr Otto Buchinger, you can also take in teas, juices and soups, besides water. Our scientific studies show that it boosts your energy and does not break the fast. Watch our video for the explanation here: ruclips.net/video/R6g6j66XXC0/видео.html

      @@BuchingerWilhelmiFasting if you are taking in juices and soups, how is that still a “fast” and not, rather, a “fast-mimicking diet”? You criticize in the video fast-mimicking diets as just being hypocaloric, but that’s exactly what your program is doing. I’m not saying it doesn’t work, or isn’t beneficial for some people. I’m just saying that, as a matter of logic and basic definitions, your program isn’t a fast - it’s a hypocaloric diet. Fasts with only water, tea and electrolytes, however, are true fasts because there is no caloric intake. The difference between your fast-mimicking diet and the fast-mimicking diets that you criticize is just the quantity and quality of caloric intake.

    The lastest fasting was prior Christmas 2021 based on the method of F.X. Mayer and I seamlessly continued with intermittent fasting 16/8 and healthy food only. My day is structured according to 16/8 and I am less tolerant to deviations. I have lost 5 kg and feel great, since I consume less chocolate, junk food and Alkohol. My motivation is a healthy lifespan. There are a lot of fasting mimicking molecules and drugs that are promoted. However the research with humans are not completed and still ongoing. I cannot trust the research results only based on mice and yeast.

It’s fast-mimicking. But then she goes on to criticizing other fast-mimicking diets. Can you explain the contradiction?

    • @RC-qf3mp
      @RC-qf3mp 5 месяцев назад

      There are old starvation studies (which would now be illegal to perform) which show that daily calorie restriction can make people go crazy - it’s counter intuitive but makes sense. If you keep giving people enough food, then their metabolism doesn’t change, and they just feel hungry all the time. But hunger goes away if the calories are low enough, or the calories come from mostly fat and very low carb. No calories can be easier sometimes. It’s complex.

    Bonjour, merci pour cette vidéo pleine de bon sens. J'ai déjà effectué deux jeûnes d'une semaine avec un groupe d'amies dans un gîte en montagne(dont deux infirmières). Le premier s'est plutôt bien déroulé (après 3 premiers jours un peu difficile avec des nausées) et à la fin, j'avais une énergie incroyable. Le second, un an plus tard, n'a été qu'un long calvaire. J'ai vomi régulièrement et dès que je buvais un peu d'eau, cela ne faisait qu'accentuer mes vomissements. J'ai du quitté le groupe au bout de 5 jours et j'ai été nauséeuse durant une semaine après la rupture du jeûne. Je tenterais bien l'expérience dans une de vos cliniques mais j'ai un peu peur de passer le séjour à vomir. Quand pensez-vous. Merci par avance pour la réponse.

    Blessed for your work Otto Buchinger. This year I made 17 days water only as a response to a revelation of the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, and it was powerful. Now I will begin 21 days under the Buchinger fasting procedure to allow the Holy Spirit to change me more into His nature and help me to be more humble. One thing I found very therapeutic during fasting is going and feeding the homeless.
    “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
    To loose the bonds of wickedness,
    To undo the [c]heavy burdens,
    To let the oppressed go free,
    And that you break every yoke?
    Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
    And that you bring to your house the poor who are [d]cast out;
    When you see the naked, that you cover him,
    And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
    Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
    Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
    And your righteousness shall go before you;
    Isaiah 58: 6-8 NKJV

      The argument (and I’m not saying i agree with it) from evolution is speculation that ‘our’ (homo sapien) ancestral environment (hundreds of thousands of years ago - if not millions) was very different and we (with our very similar DNA to those ancestors) are biologically adapted for THAT environment, not our current one. And even the lifestyle of civilizations thousands of years ago isn’t old enough to count as a meaningful ‘ancestral envionrment’. Of course, people can adapt to their surroundings, but adaptation is not evolution. And people are omnivores, so of course you’d expect a wide variety of what people as individuals eat and what cultures have found suitable for them. But none of those facts above mean that your claim (which is true about Inuits) somehow renders their claim false (about speculation on the ancestral environment).

      Ha, perhaps you should research the many children with epilepsy for whom ketogenic diets were first formulated and saved their lives. Those children grew up to be very old adults. When their brains were studied post-mortem, the doctors and scientists were astonished at how ‘young’ the brains looked. Decades younger than their cohorts. I’ve been keto for decades. And when people come over to my place to eat, they have no idea that they are eating a ketogenic meal - I’m an excellent cook and the food is varied, wholesome, delicious and satiating. It’s easy to live this way. I’m a good enough cook that I’m confident I’d enjoy a vegan diet or carnivore or pescatarian. If you know how to cook and prepare food (i often don’t ‘cook’ - don’t need to add heat), then any ‘diet’ is easy. If you don’t know how to cook, then any diet would be very hard.
