I love watching this sort of reaction. You don't distract yourself with spending time reading the lyrics and you don't pause the video/song, instead taking in and enjoying the experience as it was meant to be. Great job and thanks for the analysis.
I think we are all here on Earth witnessing something very special. I'm glad to be alive for it. I hope Ren goes as far as his dreams want him to go.
This was done live ... it took four tries (so I have been told) ... but the take on the video is one time straight through. Ren's life story has been rough and complicated with a misdiagnosis of Lyme disease. Essentially he was told for seven years his sickness was all in his mind. Loved your reaction style, how you let the entire performance run through and then analyzed the video.
This is an absolute masterpiece to me.
I haven't been touched by something similar since Pink Floyd's "The wall".
I am ljstening to it every day several times since discovered 4 weeks ago. Every times I got chills. Simply masterpiece.

If you'd like to really hear him sing, then I highly suggest both Chalk Outlines with Chinchilla live as well as The Ballad of Jenny & Screech (full) which also showcases his amazing guitar skills.
If you'd like to dive into his rap and hip hop chops, then there's Losing It, The Hunger, Power, Genesis, What You Want, Sick Boi, and last but absolutely not least, his latest release, Illest of Our Time.
Ren isn't a big fan of 'proscribed' song structure. His tracks are built the way he feels they should be and just goes with that, and it really makes his work stand out, especially with how well he understands what makes his art work.
I love watching people's facial expressions when he comes in with those D5 staccati.... *NOBODY* expects the D5 staccati!! LOL :)
I believe he refers to his style as 'bardcore' which really is fitting because he is such a talented storyteller. He demonstrates this skill best in the tale of Jenny and Screech trilogy, but then you hear something like Chalk Outlines, and it's such a contrast. I don't recall another artist that has drawn me in the way Ren has.
Welcome To the world of Ren ,he calls his style of Music BARDCORE. I'd recommend chalk outline. Performed by Ren & Chinchilla, then HOW TO BE ME . The big push is the Band all of them are very talented musicians. They were filmed in Brighton England 🇬🇧, Street performing .Well just Enjoy the journey

Emme, Ren is an excellent singer and rapper, truly phenomenal, hope you check out some of his stuff with the Big Push like I shot the Sherrif/Road to Zion/Hip Hop.

I think it's a very experimental song. I think content analysis is more important than musical analysis. In a word, "storytelling music (?) that sets up a "state of self-division" and then talks about another self (realistic ego) inside ... it's very unusual. The inner self, which aims for artistic purity, speaks to another inner self that cannot protect such an artistic spirit. I think he tried to solve the two-sidedness of the self and the inner conflict with the artistic freedom of music.

His guitar intro feels like Eric Clapton's classical gas solo. But wound theatrically. Very easy to pull alot of emotion out of one instrument.

Ren - Gives us a prime example of Split Personality Disorder. Thanks Emma, for showing the characteristics of this great artist.
It's more about fighting internal demons and the struggle with ego and internal dialogue than it is split personality,though it could technically work for almost any type of mental struggle.
