There is a separate circuit for standby supply in SMPS. A small SMPS transformer is installed in it. It has two supply outputs on which 5 volt supply and 12 volt or 18 volt supply can be provided. Diode in the output of standby supply. And test the capacitor thoroughly. For switching the standby supply transformer, IC can be used or Mosfet or even transistor. In the switching area of the stand by transformer, you test the supply or there may be some resistance. may get spoiled
If the filter capacitor bursts, it happens due to the voltage being higher than the capacitor rating in SMPS and this happens because the microfarad of both the capacitors is not the same, hence you should install capacitors of same microfarad and same voltage rating. Hi, i am getting 5 volt on stand by and pson but when i short them nothing happens and also i am getting shorting on the big FR302 diode near the stand by transformer, can you help me with this as I have spent a lot of time yet unable to fix it. I have very basic knowledge about this I am hoping you could help me with this
There are two types of standby supplies in computer power supply, the first one is 5 volts and the second one can be around 12 to 24 volts when the power supply is not on, first we will test the voltage of both these supplies, the voltage should be correct on both supplies, short the green wire and black wire, the power supply does not produce output voltage, there may be some fault in the switching area of the output transformer in the power supply such as transistors may be faulty, diode may be faulty or pwm ic may be faulty. I have the same smps as per this diagram... On +12v section it uses together Fr302 diode to make double diode and outside of the smps is mentioned that 12v 12amp output... How is it possible...?? Bcoz maximum amp of Fr302 has only 3amps...when more than 3amp passes it's too hot and shorted..
You are right It is written in this type of SMPS that it is not correct. This SMPS gives more current in 5 volt supply only. And for 12 volts, you can take a maximum supply of 2 or 3 amps
I understand your problem. You should repair the power supply with great patience. Sometimes the voltage in the output is not correct due to faulty feedback area in the PWM IC of the computer's power supply or due to weak capacitor or faulty diode. This happens due to excess load in the SMPS. Use the repaired power supply in the computer only when the voltage is correct or you can use a new power supply in the computer. Thank you. Bhai me pas 2 smps power supply hai...ek me to dc output nhi aa rha hai...bs 5 volt aa rha hai.... Or...dusri .... Power supply me ...jab main wire electricity 🔌 dete hai to .. light off ho jati hai. ....fuse udaa huwa to dikh rha hai....or sb kuch shi dikh Raha hai to kse thik hogi
1 power supply mein output mein voltage nahin aata hai power supply mein feedback voltage ko hatakar test karo agar voltage fir bhi nahin aata hai switching trangister ko test karo ya pwm IC ko test karo 2 agar kisi bhi power supply mein input dene per fuse ud jata hai to uske DC input section mein kharabi ho sakti hai Jaise diode kharab hona switching trangister ka kharab hona ya bridge rectifier kharab hona ya DC filter capacitor bhi kharab ho sakte ha Thanks
