Hi Don! My wife and I will be doing a loop starting at Bear Valley Trailhead. Night 1 at Glen camp, night 2 at Wildcat Camp, night 3 at Coast Camp, and night 4 at Sky Camp. I would like your feedback please on Fire Lane trail. Is it a pretty steep climb from Coast Camp up towards Sky Camp? I see you returned via Coast/Bear Valley Trail. Thank you :)
Hi Mark, that sounds like a good trip! Fire Lane trail has some steep sections. I remember the half-mile from where it meets Sky Trail is steep, but other than that it's just mild incline. While you're on Fire Lane Trail, there's a rock outcropping you climb to the top of that has a pretty nice view (2:20 in the video).
