he wont, because he's terrible at building decks. Which is also part of the reason why he's so often wrong in such huge ways about ratings.

I wish I lived in the world some comments seem to live in, where in a card game of 30 Card decks, and only a handful of meta decks at a time, every card is going to magically see play in high level competitive

OK well in my opinion he got bone drake wrong. It's a good card in dragon decks because the game right now Is lacking any dragons with a good body and bone drake fits that description quite well plus the deathrattle is pretty good in a dragon deck it's basically deathrattle "draw 1 above avrage card". Bone drake also fits into Nzoth decks well because of its good stats, Nzoth decks needed more big things to put in them and this is it.

Grim Patron you gonna run Drake alongside Book Wyrm? I believe Trump's final verdict when trying to build the new Dragon Priest was that he wanted the Book Wyrms and didn't need any more 6 cost cards, especially slow ones that have no impact immediately considering how much board control tools Dragon Priest lost when the sets rotated. He also said that he doubted the deck had improved enough to stay in the meta anyway having built it.
I can't see any other Dragon deck appearing considering none of them really got any tools for it and it was nowhere on the radar in Ungoro. Neither were N'Zoth decks btw, so I'd be curious which N'Zoth deck you see coming together and which tools it got that you think make it good enough?
The only card I cant help disagree with is Thrall deathseer since evolve by 2 gets something like 2 tokens on average in token shaman which is fairly powerful and that is just by playing it.
Not to mention the evolve hero power will play a huge role in the late game despite high variance of minion stats. Sacrificing a card slot for an effect that can highroll in such a ridiculous way doesn't seem like too much of a price.Token shaman is already close to being tier 1 so that is the only one I can see really wrong.
Maybe the warlock hero could be wrong too. But warlock could conceivably stay last place like last meta with how many terrible cards they got this expansion.
I think most people just want there to be more variety in the decks that are meta. And out of that blind hope comes anger at Trump because he's realistic. I can't blame them, cause i got angry when dk rexxar wasn't 5 stars cause i just want build a beast to be competitive
I think Trump will be wrong about several 1 star rated cards.

I'm sure he'll get a lot of this wrong, but I have to respect anyone willing to stick their neck out to at least try to make this level of prediction. I know I'd be all kinds of wrong if I tried this.

will deathspeaker on violet teacher + defile crash your game? since defile says "if a minion dies, cast this again" and violet teacher summons a 1/1 "whenever you cast a spell", if it's immune it should just stay on the board making 1/1s and recasting defile
"Hellbent"(Player has no cards in hand) is an archetype that is OP in a bunch of different card games and I think the Warlock Hellbent deck based on the quests inherent turn 1 setup is being completely underestimated and will be tier 2 for sure this season, expect to see Kibler being Hellbent imo.
What I'm hearing is this whole expansion is closer to trash

Step two: Use the warlock Treachery card on the rattling rascal
Step three: kill the rattling rascal
Pretty much a 10/10 for six mana! The value!
I suppose the dream combo would also include two youthful brewmaster as well, to create a 20/20 for ten, but let's face it: None of us will ever pull off that combo at turn ten.
Would a traditional 5 star system -- one where you judge a card's rating based on individual power -- be a good arena ranking system for a new set?

What about Savannah Highmane into Bonemare? Even if the Highmane doesn't stick there's still the Hyenas from the deathrattle. EDIT: Trump literally said it at 14:30 when I hit send.

I thought the same thing. Trump literally described EXACTLY Savannah Highmane (A powerful, sticky, consistent turn 6 minion) yet didn't mention midrange hunter at all. I think it might get a bit better in KFT, specifically because Highmane into Bonemare is such a good closer.

Yeah you're right but talking that long about a sticky 6-drop and not mentioning Highmane is almost a crime.
There is actually a really cool Warlock combo with Rattling Rascal, where you use treachery on him and get BOTH of the 5/5s in the same turn. (so long as you can remove the rascal from the board the same turn you play him).

Couldn't Skulking Geist also take out Evolve? Is that worth mentioning? Even then, it's still specifically 2 decks, so it probably doesn't mean as much.
That's actually a somewhat good point, I doubt many people even thought of evolve. Evolve isn't however necessary for evolve shaman to win with, even though the deck is named after it, just swarming the board and then bloodlusting would still allow it to win.

Just here to say this Rating System is, well, not '1 STAR bad', but weird. You just CAN'T predict the meta, Trump, and never learn on own previous mistakes. Estimating cards on PREVIOUS meta is faaaaaar from being accurate. Also never mentioning arena where MOST of these cards will see at least Any play.
Dayfer I think this is gonna be the least impactful/changed meta however. Nothing is rotating out and not a lot of these cards are nuts big impact cards. Especially the legendaries a fsir few of which are instant dusts

From what I can see, I rate this expansion, 1 star. It sucks that it had to be the frozen throne though.
Younes Chabli This is probably one of the hardest expansions to evaluate because of the new approach Blizzard it taking with this expansion. Don't jump to definitive conclusions too soon. Trump explicitly said these ratings would drastically change if Freeze Shaman, Control Warlock, etc become things.

I disagree. This expansion has much more barely viable cards than other expansion, though none of them seem that exciting. Trump is only rating them one star because you can only have so many cards per deck, and there are better cards from other expansions.

If I had to rate this expansion right now I'd give it a 6/10 it's not on the level of naxx or gvg but it's certainly better than Karazhan or tgt. The only part about the expansion I was let down by is the lack of constancy with the deathrattle and life steal cards, I just wanted a good all class deathrattle taunt minion and more healing and I feel like both of those demands were met at the halfway point.
will it have a solo adventure? maybe Ulduar since bosses from Icecrown citadel have already been used in card versions
You could play the opponents turn deathrattle card with the kill your own minions card to trigger them since your opponent would want to kill the big one but if they did you would summon an 8/8

So bassicly they printed a lot of good cards but the meta its to fast that on aveeage the games ends on turn 6_8 so u dont have time to get value from that cards so they are bad.. Feels bad
Quest Mage is going to be the only ultimate control deck, like Kripp said. The rest is going to be aggro/tempo decks and rogues with their miracles.

I feel like fatigue priest will be a thing now. There's so many hard counter tech cards and ways to beef up your deck with more cards that he can go forever and just control the board and exhaust the enemy. Add in quest with n'zoth and he can be pretty hard to out late game
I don't now all the ratings but he rated only 40 cards 2 stars or more so every class get in average 4-5 new playable card even tho we got 21 representated
Arc-types with Secret Mage, Elemental Mage, Frezze Mage, Exodia Mage, Miracle Rouge, maybe Mill Rouge, better Evole Shamen, Frezze Shamen, better Quest/Murloc Shamen, Taunt Druid, Midrage Druid, Secret Hunter, Midrange Hunter, Divine Shield Paladin, Midrage Paladin, Zoolock , Demonlock, Dragon Priest, some Combo Priest, Controll Warrior and how I call it Rage Warrior. Are you really think that only 40 cards will be played with all this maybe playable decks and this decks that already been play very often like Token Druid/Shamen, Pirat Warrior, Burn Mage and the rest... ? wtf?

Knights of the Frozen Throne reminds me of Mean Streets of Gadgetzan in terms of being an extremely tech-y expansion that came out after another expansion full of objectively good cards. Like Gadgetzan it might take until rotation or the next expansion before the seeds KFT planted will bloom.

I don's see arfus being that bad... He complains about Rexar having no use for the death stalker card cause it can't control, and that you can't use the one mana trigger a deathrattle card, but if you put it in beast hunter, you can get a good early start with the beast setup hunter already has, then play arfus and trigger the deathrattle multiple times, giving you enough steam to make it to death hunter and your hero power does the rest
Johnathan Ross feel like that'd still lose to jade druid and control pally. And if you don't get a good start just get run over by aggro with a four mana 2/2 in hand. FeelsHunterMan

Sorry sir, LK is --at best-- 4 stars. The cards you get from him at the end of turn have such a high cost (not in terms of mana) that when played in the endgame, can actually cause your own doom.

For an Expansion with the Lich King and the Scourge, the set of cards seem lacking in power.
Corpsetaker isn't good. In a world where Wickerflame Burnbristle barely saw play for a while and then just got cut, adding 1 mana for +1/+1 just isn't worth it. And sometimes you don't even get all three effects, in which case it's just trash.
Considering how often Trump overdos 1-stars in his reviews, I'd still agree that barely one third of the set will see constructed play on standard, though I'd go as far as to say that half of them are great for arena.
In a metagame that seems to be shifting towards control, I think you are being a little short-sighted on Skelemancer.
I am uncertain is prince keleseth is good enough for zoo.
I mean zoo runs 1 mana 3/2 with a downside is a conditional 2 mana 2/2 that buffs your deck good enough

Really disappointed with just 2 star rating of Cobalt Scalebane. I don't know why people aren't excited about it I think it's one of the best cards in the set and the power level is good enough to be a legendary. I mean let's get real here 5/5 and +3 attack that repeats every turn and it is even a dragon, that is a great deal for just 5 mana for example Master Swordsmith is just 1/3 for 2 and it only buffs +1 attack every turn. It fits in so many decks like Murlocs, Token Druid, Shaman, Paladin, Dragon Priest even Zoo would probably run this just because of how efficient it is. I've currently put it in my mid range pally and it is wrecking house. It also turns the Collector into an absolute beast drawing 3 cards when you play it.
Have a feeling some of these ratings on this and the class ratings will be memed later on at how wrong they are. Although, I agree with him on about 90%
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Trump rated quest rogue 1 star.

Drakkari enchanter + lich king is pretty nutty
Mate....Skelemancer in Deathrattle hunter. Play Skelemancer. Hit it with Corpse Raiser and play dead. If you do this after spiritsinger umbra (though not likely) you just start flooding your board with 2/2s that summon 8/8s and 8/8s.
Sasaki Wont work. If you activate the deathrattle, it has to check whose turn it is. No combo there.
immune on sandworm. :) Pretty sure it'll never happen while an enemy still has a board full of minions but one can dream.
Yeah these were kind of my predictions as well so I agree with you Trump. Maybe 1 or 2 of these will be a surprise tech choice but for the most part I'm super disappointed with the neutrals. Even the best one (the Lich King) is pretty boring.
skulking geist is not only for jade but also meny warlock decks like renolock this would then destroy all pover of overwhelming and mortal coil.

am i the only one that thinks that tomb lurker is kinda better then a 1 star if the meta shifts to control even in the current meta cause the only deathrattles that are consistently run are aya and tirion i think so unless you ran something different you would get 1 of those unless yr against hunter?
