@@dannyDC2 Just finished watching (lots of work shit inbetween). Always a pleasure watching mate, top commitment as always! You need some side gopros, would love to see that Caterham driver having chunk of his bodywork yeeted back at him from the mx5 driver at the end lolol
Dan - you should have a go at actual caterham series, it is much closer racing than the mr2's and its not all bellends like this. 310r or one of the others like mag 7's/toyos would be ideal
when you was wondering why you didnt seem as fast i noticed you said it was 25 as such in morning getting to 30 later on maybe causing slight less power with the hotter air maybe something to consider
Regarding onboard camera, maybe u can use a proper good 2k resolution dashcam like ddpai x5 pro or ddpai z40 and then wire it straight to the fusebox.... Hassle free of dying battery... 😹😹😹

Mega driving, seems a bit daft to move people up and down classes based on driver performance when it's set up around bhp/ton but that's motorsport I guess, daft at times. Great vid
I see the caterhams have migrated to ruining racing as well as trackdays then? Kudos to you and the MX-5 driver keeping your cool at the end of the race there, think if I was the MX-5 driver, I'd have inserted that piece of caterham in it's owner after what he did. Haha!

@@jonff1234 I have owned a number of track cars including a caterham. Its usually worse in a caterham as many people don't understand that if you catch them, you're quicker and don't like being passed by a bathtub (most caterhams dont have the straight line speed as the average M straight line hero). I totally agree this bellend is not doing much to help the 7's but theres plenty of shit moves in the mr2 series and 750's by other cars (see other videos of dan being crashed into). I did >10 trackdays a year in my caterham with a group and we almost never the ones causing red flags. It was mostly badly prepared race cars from the MSV days I did.

Can’t be getting too upset about things not in our control
Are you left foot breaking normally then right foot breaking if your rev matching down gear? Thought just left foot breaking felt weird enough let Alone swapping between them 😄!
Not sure slow it down and have a look haha. You can run RUclips at 0.25x
Interesting you swapped the ECU.. So you have a practice ECU and a race one? Its definitely 2zz swapped (I think I hear the valve lift right??)
Mr Caterham needed a good lamping, or at least a decent shouting at from Angry Dan. What a helmet. Cracking driving though chap, managed to keep your cool pretty well despite the obvious building of tension and stress. Can't believe how well you did a class above where you should have been, impressive stuff!
cheers dude, frustrating but a good life lesson all the same...
It's seems there's always one 🔔 end in any race or trackday.
Absolutely awesome driving in a car that was nowhere near as powerful as most of the other cars in class.
Snetterton is my local track, my poor old mk1 mx5 is dead meat on that back straight 🤷🏻♂️👍
Yeah there'll always be a bellend somewhere
Great video as always. Nice section comparing the data between laps. What hardware/software do you use?
circuit tools
Only 7 mins in but I had the same trouble with T1 last time I was there, found missing the 1st apex was quicker for me in the end, if it works it works 😁
Surely the first apex is optional, but the second is mandatory ?
@@dannyDC2 Yes sir lol, its fun taking passengers out and only taking the second apex, they think you've forgot to turn 😂
For sure
Regarding onboard camera, maybe u can use a proper good 2k resolution dashcam like ddpai x5 pro or ddpai z40 and then wire it straight to the fusebox....
Hassle free of dying battery... 😹😹😹
yes a few people use dashcam for backups, its not a bad idea
Great work Dan... from start to finish and yes, you definitely could have gotten first in class.
shoulda woulda coulda etc. Nice to know the pace was there
Caterfields need to stick to their own race series and hillclimb/sprints. They're a menace to other drivers.
very good, very nice! That caterham sure did drive a bit dumb.
10:20 - Ultimate Gran Turismo 2 memories, wicked song choice.
Yeah been meaning to deploy that one for a while
Cracking stuff
What was their issue with your cage? Seems odd they’d have a problem with a cage spec’d for your racing series!
Exactly… they were just being extra picky
well this was one of the most exiting race videos I seen lately! good work Dan!
cheers man
Yes Dan
Well the caterham driver certainly was folking about, awful driving, you did very well only calling him a moron! Lets hope he doesnt get anymore invites. Superb effort to be so high up in a lower class car, just shows what the little mr2 can do in the right hands. Looking forward to the next vid already 😃
Cheers!
Mega driving, seems a bit daft to move people up and down classes based on driver performance when it's set up around bhp/ton but that's motorsport I guess, daft at times. Great vid
Mint mate! great these race videos are . 👌👌
I see the caterhams have migrated to ruining racing as well as trackdays then?
Kudos to you and the MX-5 driver keeping your cool at the end of the race there, think if I was the MX-5 driver, I'd have inserted that piece of caterham in it's owner after what he did. Haha!
I think he wasn’t far off!
How do caterhams ruin trackdays?
@@MikeSmith-rd9fi
A constant stream of red flags due to them spinning off
Unwilling to yield to the faster car behind because it's worth much less
Generally driven very poorly but as the owners go by the logic of "My driving talent is judged by my wallet size" they're unwilling to accept they're just really poor at it and never improve, thus ruining the day for everyone else.
I could go on all day listing all their failings but take what you've seen in Dan's video and those 3 examples I've given and you'll get a general idea.
@@MikeSmith-rd9fi
That’s delightful....
So how many trackdays have you ruined in your caterham then? 🤣
I wonder if the Caterham driver is watching this? If so I hope he sells it soon....
Great drive Dan.
