I went to france last month and the amount of restraint i had to show at the pharmacy was insane but i got so many freebies so that was fun. Also met a pharmacist who used to work at bioderma and she gave my mom so much advice on skincare.
I woke up this morning wondering when’s the next Matilda drop going to be and I see this 😍 How can I forget your Caudalie trip when I’ve watched that particular video over and over again until I finally went when our borders opened in 2022 :) Another video I played countless of times was your first French pharmacy video that I’d specifically play whenever I’d visit any pharmacy when I lived in France last year. Now that there’s a new video, I’d have to move back to France again! 😅 Thanks Matilda and can’t wait for the upcoming content!

I don’t know if they deliver to Australia, but for those in the Uk, I would recommend Cocoon Centre. They stock pretty much everything in a French pharmacy and products that you won’t get over here. My sister I I stock up every few months. Order over £75 and delivery is free. Under £130 and there’s no duty. Takes usually a week to receive. Been ordering from them for two years and some of my colleagues now order from there too. I ordered the Avene lip butter through them.
The caudalie sun water is AMAZING! I bought some in France last summer, and it has carried me through this summer at home in the US! No sunburns thankfully! 🤞🏻
Have you heard of Yolaine Paris? It's a french make up brand and I ordered their Mousse de Rouge in two colors (Daphné and Tulip) and I'm in love with them! Such a special product and they last really long on my lips. I think you would like the concept! Also, their tinted balm is great, I have it in Brioche, it has such a strong colour!
I tracked down Yolaine Paris while I was there, Krisztina! Great minds think alike 😉❤️ You'll see one of their mousses on my channel in future (I tried to meet up with the team while I was there but it didn't work out, and unfortunately there wasn't much stock left at Printemps so I still have a few things on my wishlist for next time!) x
I am a huge fan of Avene’s facial sunscreen. It is the best formula I have found for my sunspots (with the blue light filter in it). I stock up and never want to be without it. I am intrigued by the LRP Cicaplast sunscreen you bought. I really like Biafine too (it smells so comforting). I also like Biafine’s cica version (similar to Cicaplast).

It's almost nostalgic to see French pharma classics! But they are classics for a reason - I also stock up on LRP Anthelios uvmune 400 and the caudalie elixir whenever I travel. Another item I pick up while travel shopping are Japanese lip balms, which are sold everywhere in Asia (except my own country, of course!). Great ones are from DHC and Mentholatum.
Looks like a fantastic haul, I did use to work in pharmacy so I had a certain amount of these things I always want. So Clarins anything basically, Batiste dry shampoo, a multi wonder cream that u can use on any area - arms / legs / face. Lip balm or even a deodorant of some sort as occasionally I need one whilst away 😊

Thank you for sharing, as always. In the past 72 hrs I have freshly rediscovered the lack of truly good French pharmacy products in the UK market. My partner has been prescribed a few Avene and Bioderma products in Romania, where you can find those everywhere. It turns out, that specifically the products that dermatologists would recommend in the Continent - are NOT available in the UK. You'll find a handful of Avene and Bioderma in Boots, a few extra masks in specialized apothecaries, but not the holy grails. I had to order it with extra shipping costs as he needs it, but on our next trip "home" I'm filling my suitcase with these gems. Regarding the sunscreens you have yet to test - The Avene Peau Sensible (second from left on your video) was not bad on my combo dry skin, but gathered in my wrinkles oilyly. However on my partner's skin, which is oily flaky dry it worked like the most wonderful thing that he ever put on his face, looking better than his own skin! Furthermore on La Roche Cica B5 with SPF50: before the Avene above, we've been using this for windy walks and sunny winter walks all year round. It feels heavy and greasy, but with severe weather conditions, I trust it outdoors. Once it starts breaking down, after approx. 2 hrs, it burns my eyes. Absolutely horrible. By the 4th hour it becomes extremely heavy on the skin, one can feel the patches where it is worn and where ther's more, so I always have to do a full cleansing, after our walks. My partner had the same experience, he refuses to apply it on his eyelids at all. On his skin it doesn't look greasy, on my T zone, I must powder, otherwise i look like I aged 10 years somehow. So good luck :D I also want to add with sunscreens, it is my experience, that in different climate, they react differently. Both the above sunscreens were nicer to wear on the Continent, however here in London, with high humidity, things are different.
I visited Paris last year with my mom. I bought most of these however the Thermal water mist were sold out throughout the city but thankfully we lived in the states. La Roche Posay and Avene used to be expensive but now I can finally afford their products and I bought new or original formulas when I was there as well. The caudalie beauty elixir seems very overhyped to me and I will not rebuy since I've used mainly K-beauty mist that are promising. Next time, I'll check out the hair products.
My dad is headed to Australia for several weeks at the end of the year. I may or may not be sending him with a long list of skincare to bring back, including a few bottles of Ultra Violette, that you can't get in the US

Obsessed with pharmacies! You should have hit up the Greek pharmacies as well since you went to Greece they’re everywhere and pretty much the same as the French ones but they also have local brands
I wish I'd been based in a city in Greece to explore their pharmacies too! I was staying in a very quiet part of Corfu for my friend's wedding so we didn't do any shopping, just celebrating and relaxing 😎💙 x
Agreed! @@matildaonvideo you should try Korres and Apivita - both are great Greek pharmacy brands you can find online in many countries. Korres Cucumber Hyaluronic Splash is one of my fav sunscreens, very refreshing.

@@matildaonvideoi used the eucalyptus body wash it’s amazing. as a recovering insomniac i have tried using magnesium pills, lavender on my diffuser, and not using my phone before bed and honestly none of it works. i shower with this body wash and it knocks me out.
Bioderma micellar water is my most repurchased product. I have this in the 850ml reverse pump bottle which is available from Boots. As for sunscreen, I have tried La Roche Posay and Vichy capital soleil, both are very good. Lately I have been trying out a few Japanese sunscreens, and I can say I was impressed by the textures and finishes these leave on skin.

As someone with very pale skin, I don't know how you guys deal with sunburns without Biafine lol. It's been a staple ever since I was a kid, and helps get rid of very angry burns in just a few hours ;-;
Reapplication, applying enough sunscreen, wearing a hat + sunglasses + covered clothing, and seeking shade wherever we can is so important Dalia, otherwise I'd roast every day! ☀️ Of course accidents happen, and as someone with very fair skin too, I'm much more likely to burn than most of my friends, so Biafine does come in handy sometimes. Glad you're a fan of it too! x
@@matildaonvideo My mom got skin cancer when I was a child so were always covered up from head to toe, however here in the South of France it's still not something common unfortunately... And Biafine saves my life when I get sunburnt by accident
Even with more olive skin and being an SPF50 girl, Biafine has bailed me out of sunburn accidents. It's a miracle cream, which I'm happy to say I barely use, but I'm glad is an option.
The Avene lip balm pot? I found it in a little lip balm section! It wasn't in the corridor towards the checkout where a lot of balms usually are though - there was a smaller lip balm area opposite the Caudalie wall (on the far right of the store, the Rue du Four side). Hope that makes sense! 💙 x
I was only travelling between Paris and London by train for a few days so luckily no liquid restrictions! Phew 😅 Then I put everything in my checked luggage to fly back to Australia x
Thee first time ever I opened a tube of lait creme concentrate I was so disappointed by the scent. No one ever mentions how heavily scented that moisturiser is. And I am not even sensitive to scents.
Don't worry, I'm very familiar with decanting my skincare routine to pass through liquid restrictions, but this time I was only travelling to and from Paris by train from London for a few days! 😄👍 Then everything went into my checked luggage when I flew home x

You should try the Nuxe Multipurpose dry oil, I love the smell. I’m also a big fan of the LRP sunscreen!
I've tried the Nuxe before Melissa! Just have a few other dry body oils I'm trying to finish up at home this winter from Olverum and NERRĀ ✨ x

i rave about the A313 balm. It is seriously one of the best OTC retinols I've ever seen and my skin literally began to glow after a week
I think I've gone through about a dozen of La Roche Posay sunscreens! So amazing against the Aussie UV

Applying products on damp skin helps with absorption, so mists are always a key part of my routine! ☺️💙 x

As someone with very pale skin, I don't know how you guys deal with sunburns without Biafine lol. It's been a staple ever since I was a kid, and helps get rid of very angry burns in just a few hours ;-;
Reapplication, applying enough sunscreen, wearing a hat + sunglasses + covered clothing, and seeking shade wherever we can is so important Dalia, otherwise I'd roast every day! ☀️ Of course accidents happen, and as someone with very fair skin too, I'm much more likely to burn than most of my friends, so Biafine does come in handy sometimes. Glad you're a fan of it too! x

Even with more olive skin and being an SPF50 girl, Biafine has bailed me out of sunburn accidents. It's a miracle cream, which I'm happy to say I barely use, but I'm glad is an option.
In which section did you find the avene lip balms? I have never found them in all my visits to City Pharma
The Avene lip balm pot? I found it in a little lip balm section! It wasn't in the corridor towards the checkout where a lot of balms usually are though - there was a smaller lip balm area opposite the Caudalie wall (on the far right of the store, the Rue du Four side). Hope that makes sense! 💙 x
La Roche-Posay's Anthelios sunscreens sting my eyes so bad.
The non aerosol of Klorane has a great effective sprayer and lasts so much longer than the aerosol. I think it has more product.

Thee first time ever I opened a tube of lait creme concentrate I was so disappointed by the scent. No one ever mentions how heavily scented that moisturiser is. And I am not even sensitive to scents.

Don't worry, I'm very familiar with decanting my skincare routine to pass through liquid restrictions, but this time I was only travelling to and from Paris by train from London for a few days! 😄👍 Then everything went into my checked luggage when I flew home x
